It's a shame that so few people ever saw/remember the post-credit scene in "Big Hero 6". It always makes me smile...especially now that the great Stan Lee has passed.
Right? I remember when I saw this movie at the cinema. I sat through the credits and basically everyone else had left when the post-credit scene played.
Fun fact: if you pay attention to hunny's purse she uses, it has the periodic table of elements for the buttons so she's literally making up formulas on the spot in the heat of battle. Tell me that's not badass! She is such an underrated character!
"I'm not giving up on you. You don't understand this yet, but people need you" As someone who struggles with depression and feeling like no one wants me that line means so much and gives me hope
I was a bit younger when I watched this in theatres with my older brother and when Tadashi died I cried quite a bit cause I genuinely can't imagine losing my own brother. This movie knows how to hit all the feels in a short runtime.
The Baymax terminator sequence was awesome. It's pretty cool to see the contrast between baymax with the "heart" Tadashi worked so hard to build for him versus without it. It's emphasised even more when the video in it gives Hiro a reminder of the love his brother put into making it and Baymax himself. Gotta love this movie.
That's perfect! This way, you can love him forever, and will never grow to despise him and break up when you find all kinds of things to hate about him. :D
There's no second big hero 6 but there is big hero 6 the series which was created by the same people that made Kim possible. It picks up right after the movie with Hiro starting his first day at college! I highly suggest it!
@@dejavue5671 i'm not sure either, it's been a while since I looked at the list of Disney's projects but supposedly it was meant to come out after either black panther 2 or ant man 2
I think I have a childish sense of humor. I always start giggling and can't stop when Baymax is letting air out to squeeze through the window, and then again when he's reinflating his arms at the police station. That stupid squeaking noise makes me laugh every time. Every. Time.
The fact that it sounds like a cross between a deflating balloon and a fart makes it funnier, since Baymax is essentially a very well-designed balloon-person. Also, off-topic, but I found it cute and sweet in the credits when Baymax/Hiro/the team gifted a roll of tape to the police officer that Hiro was talking to, since the same officer also allowed Baymax to use his tape to patch himself up. The officer is smiling at the tape in the credits image!
21:38 the statue that is smashed is of Hans from Frozen. Also, although they have not made a sequel there is a series. All three seasons are available on Disney+ and a Baymax series for Disney+ was also announced!
Todashi is right behind Uncle Iroh for me in fictional characters I love because he took the pain from losing his parents at a young age and turned it into Baymax.
I mean Daniel Henney aka Matt Simmons from "Criminal minds" as Tadashi and Ryan Potter aka Beast boy from "Titans" tv series as Hiro is a biiig win for me.
Corridor crew has a video named "Animators React to Bad & Great CGI". In this video the creator of the time lapse explains how they did the time lapse scene.
I enjoyed your commentary :) About the timelapse shot: they didn't speed up hours of footage lol. The animator cleverly spaced out each frame to make it look like a few days passed.
For the building catching on fire quickly, while it’s never explained, I can guess it went up in flames pretty quickly because there was A LOT of robotics and tech in that building with flammable components. In 2016 a robot with a lithium ion battery blew up at NASA. Imagine a 100 or more of those blowing up at once.
Also, there's a series for this movie. It's not as good as the movie, but it's not bad. Like they could've done much more to build the world and characters but it's still good.
An interesting visual: Hiro and Baymax's armor designs are VERY reminiscent of Priss' hardsuit and her Motoroid, from the classic anime Bubblegum Crisis.
First off, RIP Stan Lee Secondly, while I’m fairly happy with the series Disney XD produced, I still wish we got a full-blown sequel. But, for all I know, the series was probably meant to act as sequel, just more lengthy extended. Third, I love this movie. So much sci-fi with Marvel origin, and I adore the MCU.
Wasabi's obsession with precision is why it's so funny when he screws up cutting through the metal door later. He misses the starting point, tries for a moment to correct it, and then just messily slices across in frustration with himself. :D
31:36 Look at the head movements Baymax is doing here, then keep them in mind when I explain this: Baymax was programmed to be a "non-threatening, huggable" medical care robot/android and true empathy is a human ability that wasn't exactly written into his programming. He LEARNED it by being with Hiro and the rest of the 6. This little head movement is something Hiro inadvertently taught Baymax by doing it when he was being insistent. Because Baymax is insisting that the most important thing here is that Hiro and Callaghan's daughter get out of the portal, Baymax is id returning the same gesture Hiro does at 31:35, because he won't take no for an answer about saving Hiro's life. The thing that always get me is that at some point during this whole conversation, Baymax took his medical chip out and put it in his suit's rocket fist, where Hiro found it later. So at some point, Baymax probably wasn't acting according to his programming. He was acting according to himself, doing something he wasn't programmed to do. I think Baymax gained at least a degree of sentience throughout the film and it showed itself in this moment. This makes my theory even sadder: the portal's explosion may have killed him, or if he's still in the portal's dimension, he won't be able to charge, meaning he will eventually die there. And that breaks my heart, even though Hiro was able to re-create him and still has his original chip that Tadashi made.
For years, I never understood why they chose an adult to voice a pre-teen. But now that I think about it, they probably did that because it's an anime thing. Btw, Corridor Crew did an episode covering the timelapse scene. Also, they made a Big Hero 6 animated series. Really wished Krei was the villain and Callaghan be part of their team.

my favorite part about this movie is how this group of college kids, without hesitation, adopt Hiro as their own little brother after Tadashi passes. He was their friend and they're grieving too, but they're still there for Hiro and worried about him.
i maybe wrong but when people go into hyper sleep or cryogenic sleep is when there is insufficient energy or oxygen due to long usage, and to conserve power and oxygen to preserve the pilot is to put them into hyper sleep or cryogenic sleep until the pilot is returned to place of origin such as earth and can be medically treated, hiro is not in hyper sleep due to his suit is not compactable for that kind of equipment as his suit is for high velocity and altitude use and not space, but his suit probably does contain an emergency oxygen tank in case of use in space or low oxygen altitude, the best thing about this movie is that it addresses 5 stages of grief such as denial, depression, bargaining, anger and acceptance (not necessarily in that order)

again, because there was no real concept how time dialation worked inside the portal, chances are there would be a hibernation feature in the pod so she could just sleep it all off, rather than wait potentially days, or months, burning calories and potentially starving to death.... it makes sense she's be put to sleep, burn no calories, and not really need food or hydration for a period of time till she was revived

Thanks for the support to this channel!
So this was my 2nd vid ever watched of yours and I stumbled upon it again today. It's so interesting the differences and similarities of your current content. Also, that hair was pretty dope.
my favorite part about this movie is how this group of college kids, without hesitation, adopt Hiro as their own little brother after Tadashi passes.
