When I watched this movie in theaters, A young boy started crying a lot when the older brother died and his parents took him out of the theater. They came back like 15 mins later and watched the rest of the movie. After the movie the boy was still sad and teary eyed. I overheard the boys dad talking to someone. They went to watch the movie because the older brother had died recently and they were all planning on watching the movie together So they went to watch the movie anyway to try and cheer the boy up. Just tragic.

On the subject of crying... I've been very severely depressed for about 2/3 of my life at this point and something that can happend when one is depressed really bad for a long time is one loses the ability to cry. Which is frustrating because crying is the healthy outlet and there's this frightening sensation of wrongness about feeling like you're crying for days on end while at the same time not actually being able to. Your channel was the first of its kind I stumbled upon and sitting down to experience a familiar film through the perspective of someone else has enabled me to let go and just cry together with a random stranger on the internet. Natalie, the reason you probably recognize Fred's voice is that he was played by TJ Miller, who you've seen previously in the Deadpool movies. He plays Deadpool's bartender friend, Weasel.
A really awesome detail is when Hiro is saying goodbye to Baymax if you pause it you can see that the reflection in Hiro’s eye is not of Baymax but instead Tadashi. Y'know the beginning part of Big Hero 6 teaches an important lesson. If someone is addicted to something, or doing something potentially dangerous and you can't prevent them from doing it, then accompany them somehow. Make sure you know you've done what you can to eliminate as much danger as you can, and then be there for them through it as well. Life lessons.
Big hero 6 will always hold a place in my heart because of what it represents for me. No scene in any movie has ever made me cry like the sequence at 23:50. I lost my brother in 2003 and my family never really stopped to process the loss, myself included. It hit me especially hard for pretty personal reasons and I basically shut down emotionally for close to 15 years. While we ended up processing it as a family later, that scene is always a reminder to me that we take our loved ones with us, they are never truly gone. Emotional stuff aside, glad you liked big hero 6. Its a fun film with fantastic animation and an interesting cast!
Literally nearly my exact situation, I lost my big brother when i was just a little girl roughly 12 years ago - but my family has always had issues expressing emotions to one another, so it was like one day he was there then he wasn't - and since i was so young i don't have any childhood memories (that i could clearly recall) with him. So anything to do with losing siblings always hits real hard, even to this day i find myself struggling to talk about him without choking up. What scene kills me personally is the part where Baymax is saying that Tadashi would've lived a long life with a healthy diet and etc, ughh just gut wrenching honestly.
The characters were created by Man of Action Entertainment for Marvel, the same people who created Ben 10 and Generator Rex. The film version however gave it a redesign for the characters and lore, like mixing Japanese and American culture.
this movie makes me cry in a special way, because aunt kas loos like my ex gilfriend (who was in love with) and her nickname was "kess" so is like this character was literaly made to beat my feeling up...
Yk one of the many reasons I like nat so much is how we both cry more to children’s animations movies than the “normal” one Though I cry for literally everything hahah
I love this movie. It's weirdly niche or maybe just overlooked, being overshadowed over the years by big budget live action superhero films, but it's earnest and heartwarming and I don't think I've met a single person who saw this movie who didn't think BayMax wasn't the most adorable robot ever (or maybe tied with Wall-E). I'm glad we were able to share this experience with you. I have a handful of films you may not have seen for your consideration in the future, mostly because I feel in the Reaction-Tube arena, they haven't gotten much exposure yet: The City of Lost Children (this is a film in French - while it's definitely better in its original language and subtitled in English, dubbing is an option and I feel it's still a good movie) Dragonslayer (believe it or not, this is a very old Disney film!) The Three Amigos Dark City The Monster Squad (the latter two might make good choices for Natmare season - they're both broadly speaking horror movies, but they're not super frightening, which I think really hits your wheelhouse scary-movie-wise)
The writing overall is a bit sub par I have to say. The thing that makes it so beloved by those who do remember it, is that relationship with baymax/dealing with grief that Hiro goes through. Honestly I think the movie would have been much better (but probably sold far worse) if it was entirely about that, and maybe have a second movie to start the whole Hero thing. It also has a really good depiction of theoretical AI, which is another plus.
@@kimm6589 That's fine. It still is a far better written film, but we enjoy what we enjoy. I've never really liked Citizen Kane, but I still understand it's a really damn good movie.
Ouch. This one hit hard. My mother recently passed and this was one of the last movies we watched together. She loved it enough that every year it'd get watched once with a home cooked meal. Thank you for sharing this and making me a blubbering mess. 🐾❤🧡
The reason why San Fransokyo looks the way it does is because when San Fran suffered from the horrible earthquake, Japan stepped up and helped rebuild with their own deisgns.
Disney Easter eggs: The statue Bay Max's flying fist destroys at Fred's house is of Prince Hans, the bad guy from Frozen. And Baymax is one of the snow miniatures at the beginning of Frozen 2.
I absolutely LOVE this movie! It's got it all...action, comedy, drama, etc. The music is great, and the visuals are amazing. Also, I can't not think of Stargate (which I loved) whenever I see the portals. Fun fact: Disney went all out to create San Fransokyo (a combination for San Francisco and Tokyo) for this movie. They used public records to create rough representations of all the buildings in San Francisco, down to street lights and trees. If you know the address, you can find a similar size & type of building in San Fransokyo as it would be in the real life San Francisco. Also, they created 750,000 people, all unique (including avatars of all the film crew), to populate the city.
Big Hero 6 was originally a comic under the X-Men editorial at Marvel. Two of the original members were even mutants, Sunfire and Silver Samurai. Eventually they left and Hiro kinda became the team leader and were replaced with Fredzilla and Wasabi No-Ginger.
One of their dirty tricks in Age of Ultron is that when Tony is going through alternative AI to upload in place of Jarvis, one of the cards is labeled TADASHI. I only recently learned about that, but dang it, Disney, that was a dirty trick...

I'm so glad that you liked this movie! Random trivia, the neurotransmitters aren't magic. People have even constructed neurotransmitters today, and they're sophisticated and intuitive enough that a monkey wearing one was able to control a robotic arm to solve puzzles. I'm sure that you're kind of overwhelmed with requests, but... here we go! Some show suggestions: - Arcane, which quickly beat Squid Game to be the most popular show on Netflix - The Umbrella Academy, which is like a superhero show except surprisingly nuanced and mature. - The Legend of Vox Machina, which is an animated fantasy show based on a D&D campaign (but you don't need to know anything about D&D to enjoy it!) It was funded by a Kickstarter and had the goal of making $750,000 in 40 days. When 40 days had passed, it had raised over $11.3 million.
It's cool that Krei, who eventually turned into kind of a creepy business dude, nevertheless was still such a tech geek at heart, and he totally geeked out over both Hiro's microbots and later Tadashi's Baymax. That's the person he was until he sold out to money and power, if that's what he did.
One of my favorite Disney Animated movies! So technological, so creative, so emotional, the Marvel backstory that coincides with it (which makes all the Ant-Man references you made Nat make more sense)… IT’S AMAZING!!! The series on Disney XD is pretty good too, and while it’s definitely more than just a sequel that showcases what happens immediately after the movie’s ending, I still wish we got sequel in theaters and in CG too. Disney+ is making that Baymax series, so we’ll have to wait and see…

I love this movie so much. How Hiro deals with the grief of losing his brother Tadashi is so real. I can relate to his emotional anguish so well, having lost my paternal grandparents, whom I loved dearly. I lost my grandfather when I was in 8th grade and my grandmother more recently.
The reason i like this movie so much is because for the first time in a very long time, the bad guy wasn't the ceo of a big company. It was the "kind hearted" college professor. The ceo was actually a really decent guy.

A seriously under-hyped movie. So glad you’re watching it.
? Underhype? I thought it was quite hyped when it came out tho….
@@EnaLikes It was popular on release but who talks about it these days?
*This movie really got us bawling over a robotic marshmallow.*
Is it just me or is Chris atkeson who inspired baymax is a human form of baymax but with emotional features???
The characters were created by Man of Action Entertainment for Marvel, the same people who created Ben 10 and Generator Rex. The film version however gave it a redesign for the characters and lore, like mixing Japanese and American culture.
this movie makes me cry in a special way, because aunt kas loos like my ex gilfriend (who was in love with) and her nickname was "kess" so is like this character was literaly made to beat my feeling up...
Yk one of the many reasons I like nat so much is how we both cry more to children’s animations movies than the “normal” one
Though I cry for literally everything hahah
Cuz kid's cartoons are designed to make you cry
"I am not fast" LOVE that line and delivery!
I have a handful of films you may not have seen for your consideration in the future, mostly because I feel in the Reaction-Tube arena, they haven't gotten much exposure yet:
The City of Lost Children (this is a film in French - while it's definitely better in its original language and subtitled in English, dubbing is an option and I feel it's still a good movie)
Dragonslayer (believe it or not, this is a very old Disney film!)
The Three Amigos
Dark City
The Monster Squad
(the latter two might make good choices for Natmare season - they're both broadly speaking horror movies, but they're not super frightening, which I think really hits your wheelhouse scary-movie-wise)
It got overshadowed by Frozen. It was the next film Disney released. The Frozen craze had nowhere near died down yet.
I hated Wall-E lol
@@kimm6589 That's fine. It still is a far better written film, but we enjoy what we enjoy. I've never really liked Citizen Kane, but I still understand it's a really damn good movie.
Good choices
Nat: I'm excited to get into a more lighthearted, animated movie
Me: Oh, boy
Great movie!. The statue destroyed was of Hans (Frozen). I also think Baymax meant in Hiro’s heart when he said Tadashi is here.
Ouch. This one hit hard. My mother recently passed and this was one of the last movies we watched together. She loved it enough that every year it'd get watched once with a home cooked meal. Thank you for sharing this and making me a blubbering mess. 🐾❤🧡
This reminds me of a time when I too was in the mood for a sweeter, more lighthearted animated movie…
…So I took my brother to see “Up” 💀
Why'd I watch this knowing damn well I bawl every time I see it. I'm literally sobbing right now
I feel like everytime Natalie says she wants to watch a light hearted animated film, she ends up crying
The reason why San Fransokyo looks the way it does is because when San Fran suffered from the horrible earthquake, Japan stepped up and helped rebuild with their own deisgns.
I love 'Big Hero 6', I actually just watched 'Rise of the Guardians' this evening, that's another favorite animated film. Lots of voice talent!
Yes! The “Jack Frost nipping at your nose” scene (don’t wanna say more without spoiling it for Nat) is one of my favorite animated scenes!
20:49
I haven't thought of this part like that
it actually does resemble the beginning of movie on the bike
so many details
Legit one of Disney's best movies ever and one of the few I would actually have loved to see a full blown sequel to!
The guy who’s voice you noticed from this movie & How to train your dragon is T.J Miller. He plays Deadpool’s Bartender Friend.
That was an unexpected greatness today. Really a well done story. And, TJ Miller from How to Train, yes, and Deadpool. And, Alan Tudyk as Krei.
Big Hero 6 was originally a comic under the X-Men editorial at Marvel. Two of the original members were even mutants, Sunfire and Silver Samurai. Eventually they left and Hiro kinda became the team leader and were replaced with Fredzilla and Wasabi No-Ginger.
I'm surprised they haven't made a sequel to this movie. It's really well done and hits all the right 'feels'.
One of their dirty tricks in Age of Ultron is that when Tony is going through alternative AI to upload in place of Jarvis, one of the cards is labeled TADASHI. I only recently learned about that, but dang it, Disney, that was a dirty trick...
Great movie and a great reaction, Nat!
If you want a delightful animated movie that is ACTUALLY light fun with just enough heart to make you go AWWWW but not as heavy on the tears, I highly recommend: Megamind.
Another underrated gem. Also ADORING your A:TLA reactions keep them going!
MEGAMIND
Fred was voiced by T.J. Miller, who was in How to Train Your Dragon and also Wade's best friend/bartender in Deadpool
Honestly, I saw the villain twist coming.
*Spoilers*
What would have really shocked me is if Tadashi was the villain. I NEVER would have seen that coming.
Yeah cuz it would’ve made no sense
Now THAT would be something 😂
@@jakekayden4061 Oh I agree it wouldn't have made any sense, I'm just saying that would have really caught me off guard.
@@NatalieGoldReacts Thanks for the reply and the video, Natalie. I've been subbed to you ever sense I saw you Star Wars Episode III reaction, and I can't wait to see what you tackle next.
Your right the guy who voices Fred in Big Hero 6 also voice Tough Nut, (one of the twins), from How to train your dragon. The actor is Tj Miller.
This is one of the best reactions from you Natalie. Big Hero 6 is a movie with special meaning for me as I watched this movie with my son Aaron before he passed away from cancer. It brought back special memories watching and seeing your emotional reaction. You have such a tender heart. Thank you Natalie.
He was also the voice of one of those guys behind the bar in Deadpool. And by voice of I mean it was him, and by one of those guys, he was the only guy behind the bar.
I didn't expect Stan Lee in this movie the first time I saw it. I think he helped with the movie and that's why he got his well deserved cameo.
@@FenixTheSnolx now I want to see that be a reality.
18:55: This is in the future, and that city is basically a combination of San Fransisco and Tokyo all in one.
Fun not-actually-fact: It's called "Big Hero 6" because it's the latest movie in the series. You really need to see Big Hero, Big Hero 2, 3, 4 and 5 to understand all the plot twists.
i remember watching this at the cinema and when the movie finished i couldn't see a single thing because my eyes were swollen from crying. I CRIED THE ENTIRE MOVIE- 😭
I've said this before and I'm repeating myself every video: I love how personal your greetings feel.
18:18
Reminds me of that sign on Ezra Bridget’s old costume, from Star Wars: Rebels
"A sweeter more lighthearted film..."
Oh boy....
Thanks!
One of the most underrated movies out there! Watched it with my son recently... While he was laughing and pumping his fist flying on the couch, I was crying like a baby! lol
This movie is about emotions, packed well. Of course Nat tuned into it, got the vibe ASAP.
My personal favourite is *Wall-E*
Cute, fun, but full of many darker deeper thoughts.
One of my favorite movies of all time!! I love how it makes dealing with grief and the importance of mental health so accessible
I had to pause and pop some popcorn after the lighthearted comment. Judging by the comments, I’m not alone. Neither are you, we all cried, anyone denying it is lying, or a serial killer.
i wholeheartedly stand by this movie being one of the best, most underrated animated movies. and no, that is not to say it is one of the best OUT OF the underrated movies... it is one of THE BEST movies and somehow remains underrated!
Baymax getting its own Tv series on Disney+ this summer, totaly forgot about it, thanks Nat for remembering this great movie!!!
Big Hero 6 is a family favorite. Glad you enjoyed. A quick recommendation, there are several animated Disney films that flew under the radar but we're truly excellent. I'd give Treasure Planet a watch.
hii natalie! I'm from Brazil and I usually watch reacts in English to practice my listening, I wanna say that your pronunciation is very clean, I can understand everything! it's really helping me, thanks!! 😊
I'm so glad that you liked this movie!
Random trivia, the neurotransmitters aren't magic. People have even constructed neurotransmitters today, and they're sophisticated and intuitive enough that a monkey wearing one was able to control a robotic arm to solve puzzles.
I'm sure that you're kind of overwhelmed with requests, but... here we go! Some show suggestions:
- Arcane, which quickly beat Squid Game to be the most popular show on Netflix
- The Umbrella Academy, which is like a superhero show except surprisingly nuanced and mature.

They are one of the best concerts, you can not go but just seeing them from the screen, I know it was surprising
💗❤️💌💘
This movie did come out before even the first Ant-Man though. :)
When Hiro was doing his demonstration and Natalie goes "he may have created a weapon", my mind went "Anything can become a weapon if you throw it hard enough"
Going in blind to big hero 6 is the best! I love watching your reactions and how good you are at guessing plot. Excited to keep watching and grow with the community 💕
Scrolling through the comments to find that no one gave the fun fact that in the vortex scene Tadashi's reflection was in Hiro's eyes when Baymax was bidding farewell. Granted it's not a detail you can notice immediately but I discovered this through a meme and checked the scene out myself. It's there. 😗😗😗
Love this film! And technically a Marvel movie.
this film is in my top 3 Disney animated films!! I love it so much. Funny, action packed, and makes me cry very easily
It's not a perfect movie by any means, but it is one of my favorites! Watching you react to it made me realize a lot of the subtle parallels that they make in the film, like Hiro looking in the glass and how he goes into the portal like how Tadashi went into the burning building. It has given me a greater appreciation for it!
this is such an beautifully scripted film the goofy gut- mascot T.J.Miller comic/actor. great voice.I liked this movie the first time I saw it. but your reaction to it made it new again for me.
Baymax is like a walking PSA :D
Every time I here that line "That darn cat!", I always feel it's a reference to Disney's 1965 film with Hayley Mills and Dean Jones.
:)
Fun fact: the statue Baymax destroys when trying out his fist is of Hans from Frozen, and while they are flying in town there is a balloon of Olaf as well.
19:45 that statue Baymax destroyed with his rocket fist was Hans from FROZEN… personally, I think Baymax did it better than Anna, don’t you think?
Natalie not even realizing that this is a Marvel movie really cracked me up for some reason 😂
After this was such a surprisingly emotional experience for you, you deserve something truly fun and light-hearted. Next up: Inside Out.
I love this movie so much. How Hiro deals with the grief of losing his brother Tadashi is so real. I can relate to his emotional anguish so well, having lost my paternal grandparents, whom I loved dearly. I lost my grandfather when I was in 8th grade and my grandmother more recently.
This whole movie is fantastic. Funny, sad, happy, angry, loss, gain, it literally has everything that makes a movie great.
I instantly fell in love with that movie, Baymax and San Fransokyo. It became my 2nd favorite Disney classic.
Man, the first time I saw this movie, it was sooo much better than I thought it was going to be from just seeing the trailer
20:44 these laugh/squeals are infectious i love them lol
The reason i like this movie so much is because for the first time in a very long time, the bad guy wasn't the ceo of a big company. It was the "kind hearted" college professor. The ceo was actually a really decent guy.
i watched half this film on the plane to iceland without audio, then the whole thing with headphones on the way back!
best plot twist ever, 10/10
