- Gordon's genuinely worried now...
Season 3, Episode 11
Gordon visits Fleming, a Danish restaurant in Miami, Florida. It was once the best family-run restaurant in town, but now the place is on its last legs. Fleming was bought by husband and wife team Andy and Suzanne eight years ago, in the hope of continuing the restaurant's past success, but with no clue about Danish cuisine it's no real surprise the place is losing money. Can Gordon save their bacon?

The sigh of relief that fell out of my face when Gordon was kind and polite about that lady's dorky little swans... good man.
She was being sincere, I think Gordon recognized that
Low key the swan would still make me leave with a smile even if I didn’t love my meal. It reminds me of fancy restaurants I would see on tv as a kid. I hope we keep a place in this world for whimsical little foil swans as food trends sway more to rustic home cooking and elevated fusion. 🥺
It took me about halfway through their interaction to realize he wasn't joking. 😅
@@FelineBlues Shidd, it made ME smile and i wasnt even the one receiving the swan! lol
What a sweet lady
It always perplexed me when people seem to expect Gordon to say, "Great food, great interior design, great management. You're doing everything perfectly. Your customers are idiots. Carry on.'
The day he walks in and walks back out 🤣
Amy's expectations exactly.
Great comment! 👀
Yea like they all think that he's going to come in and blow smoke up their ass and make them look good. Instead he rips them for being bad owners lol
And they get surprised with their shit food. Go figure. Shit food is probably why you don't get any business.
The fact he actually liked the swans was wholesome
It really was. I thought he was going to belittle her, but he sincerely loved them.
“MY NAN COULD DO BETTER THAN THAT, AND SHES DEAD!” nahh that’s outrageous 😂💀
I love that they kept playing that part. I died laughing at it
keep laughing omg

a little google shows:
In the days that followed, they embraced the changes Gordon had made and Andy believes they are on the right track.
However two months after filming, they returned some customer favourites to the menu that were popular with patrons, whilst also keeping Gordon's original menu in place.
They also returned to serving crudites, offering soup of the day and Caesar salad with every meal.
They brought back the dessert bar.
They were inspired to make new changes including introducing theme nights and new early bird special, the Economic Recovery Menu.
Fleming closed in October 2010, 5 months after airing of the episode.
Yeah, most restaurants fall back into their old ways and that's how they lose their restaurants. I don't think Ramsay could have done more.
Some of these, US and in the UK original, are just in so much debt recovery is damn near impossible. Ramsay may keep them on life support for a little longer but just delaying the inevitable.
@@sparky4878 no they just dont stick with the change thats required, its one thing to make minor changes like add 1 or 2 items to the menu from before, or change some colors chairs etc, but the structure has to stand
@@Supertoddy96 Jon Taffer and his experts and his crew will now get you guys with this crossed contaminated restaurants right in front of Gordon Ramsey.
Why somewhere losing money would offer soup and salad with every meal is baffling.
“Is someone colorblind?”
“Actually, yes”
This fucking sent me haha

Haha! I wonder if Gordon felt like a jack @ss about it that time. Haha!

10:30 bless that woman and her swans 🦢 they make her so happy it’s contagious 😂❤
The fact that the fire started and the first person to speak screamed “get the water” scares the living hell out of me. You do not ever EVER NEVER throw water on a kitchen fire.
Absolutely correct. I've used baking soda. Water just spreads the flames. Just like saute pans catching fire, usually due to alcohol in the dish, simply put a lid on it, take it off the burner.
Especially a grease fire, unless you don't want a kitchen that is
Honestly this one seemed like an easy fix. The owners were very likeable and nice, loyal staff, and a passionate chef. They basically just needed to let the chef be himself more and get new decor. I really hope it worked out for them.

@@sai269lmaooo thanks.
@@sai269 Damn, that sucks.
that’s what happens when good people with absolutely no experience in running a restaurant buy a restaurant. they create a poorly run restaurant with good people running it. i don’t understand why some people think buying a restaurant to run yourself with no experience is an “investment” no, sir, that’s like saying i’ll do my moms hip replacement surgery myself to save money … there are certain things you need experience and education to do well no matter how good a person you are.
@eanneham8613 yup, been there done that. People will come in and expect it to just make money. That's not how it works.
As a Dane I feel violated by how they made the food. But the way Gordon pronounced frikadeller was really good
Agree. As a fellow dane, that has nothing to do with traditional danish cuisine.
isn't frikadeller a Dutch dish?
@@budakbaongsiah Frikandel is Dutch
@@budakbaongsiahI think it's made in a number of countries. I've made them since I was a teen, haven't tried them for a while though.
@@budakbaongsiah No it isn't. The Dutch might have something similar, but Frikadeller is danish.
"water, water, water" made me literally yell "NO"
grease pan fires are horrid.
Gotta keep em clean, my..
That's dangerous when it's a frying pan with oil...
Timestamp please?
I’ve been watching the originals again (UK) on Channel 4 (some are on TH-cam) and there is such a difference in the production. Less dramatic and sharp jump cuts, no silly sound effects and actually use proper songs that were in the charts.
He’s just as sweary but seemingly a little more relaxed , funny and helps out more in the kitchens.
He is sweary in a communicative way, like "You do these changes and you will fuckin make it"
God, I love when there's people like the swan lady on this show. Their just so genuine and sincere, they really do care about what they do and it's nice to see when there's hoards of just awful people around them
I wouldn’t say awful people just incompetent people
the lady that made the swans is so sweet, bless her soul
Bless bless 🙏 🦢
"Cesar salad is hard", I didn't expect that one. It is super easy, especially if you prepare the dressing beforehand (and I believe that in restaurant they do prepare it in advance). Some roman lettuce, parmesan, croutons, grilled chicken (I guess they leave that one out when it is just a side dish), dressing and croutons. If you have it prepared (like you should in restaurant), you have it in bowl in 30 seconds.
The moment with the tinfoil swans so a lovely little wholesome calm before the 💩 storm
I always love that the customers turn into food critics on first night service when they know Ramay is there filming his show
honestly
@@jehansinterlude they're always happy eating shit food, until a celebrity is around and there's cameras
maybe because they are actors being paid to be on the show
I chalk this up to the producers of the show. We already know that all of those customers are brought in by the show to test the limits of the kitchen staff, so it wouldn't much of a stretch if they were also told to be very honest about the food to the waitstaff. Could also be through the magic of editing that they leave in all the people who were more straightforward.
Fairly sure they are encourged to do so for the show.
Take the swan-maker with you!
Just started watching, and I used to think Gordon was just a funny ass, but now? Now, I honestly love him and I think so highly of him. Thank you for changing my opinion. Will definitely be watching more!
Ive watched just about every episode multiple times and love them all. This series is what has helped me step up my cooking game and convinced me to invest in great home appliances and never put my families health in the hands of restaurants and owners that are clueless and reckless.
That's the first time Ive heard someone ask are you colourblind sarcastically and they actually are lol
The owner's haircut is stuck in 1986.
Just like the rest of the restaurant lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's beautiful!!!
What do you know… that’s when I was stuck… inside me mum
@@alanhelton I was stuck in your mum
At that time as well 😉😉
Fleming's closed about a year after Ramsey was here. It's a shame as my parents used to have their "date nights" there in the 1980's but stopped going there in the 1990's
Why was it?? They seem way better than alot of the other restaurants. I was hoping they was still open
@@ericdallas3765 Went back to what they were doing almost as soon as he left, and closed five months later
So why is it a shame? They had their dates there in the '80s.... They stopped going in there in the '90s......
So why is it a shame that it closed in the early 2000s to 2010s?
This comment makes absolutely no sense
It would make sense if they started dating their in the '80s and have been going there ever since..... That would be a shame
But a restaurant closing decades after they already stopped going there... How is that A shame?
I swear sometimes people just make comments just to comment 🙄

You can say what you like about Chef Ramsay, but the man is a genius, and he always ALWAYS turns a bad restaurant into a great one, with his own flair. Chef Ramsay is a godsend to the foodies around the world.
The show i watch to go to sleep has the word *nightmare* in it
Wow! I've never thought of it like that. 🤤🤤😴😴 I'll often drift off, then wake up only to find Gordon's still yelling - but in a different location! Best wishes from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤

i love how Gordon does everything he can (or seems to) to help these restaurants get back on their feet. honestly, every time he replaces all or part of a kitchen all I can think is "That is going to help so much" cause that's expensive stuff, especially for a struggling kitchen.
OF COURSE he finds a full cooked duck in with the raw ones... 🤣🤣
It wouldn't be kitchen nightmares without some good old cross contamination
The swan maker lady is adorable bro 😭
Tell the chef I surrender got me rolling 😂😂
I love these on youtube with the more realistic language.
Knowing this episode and watching the guy order duck in the beginning is a new level of stress
I actually had not seen this episode and immediately upon seeing the duck I was internally screaming "DON'T DO IT!" like it was some sort of horror flick. Poor guy...
Oh Fleming, the episode that gave us "My gran could do better, and she's dead"

I am absolutely obsessed with Gordon's dramatic entrances, a speed boat? I can't wait to see what's next
As a dane🇩🇰 i am personally offended by how that Frikadelle looked. What a disgrace to danish food culture by serving that crap.

"..SHUT IT DOWN.." - Gordon Ramsay.
You hear Gordon Ramsay's in town for Kitchen Nightmares, you're invited to attend. Gordon shows up at your table and apologises, before taking your plate of duck away, promising he'll explain in a moment.
Seconds later, you hear screaming at full volume from the kitchen: "WE'RE NOT SERVING ANOTHER FUCKING DUCK OUT THERE, WE'VE JUST CONTAMINATED THE WHOLE FUCKING PLACE!"
You: 👀
I can’t believe the amount of people who turn up after they hear Ramsay is filming an episode. I’ve seen enough of these to know going there is a great way to get food poisoning.
1:41 that tone down in voice and music +the cut from"regular loyal customers" to some old people @ 2:56 is pure gold😂

meanwhile the camera guy recording customers eating the food
ITS FUC*KING RAW.!.!.
Can anyone point out an episode of the American version of Kitchen Nightmares and Hotel Hell where the problems weren't always with three things? Bad food, mismanagement/unhygienic practices, and clueless ownership are the big three for these shows, and I'm amazed by how obvious these issues are from the beginning.
Momma Cherri’s from memory the issue was mostly marketing. Then for a while after she did really well until she moved to a bigger restaurant and opened up a second location (I think) and the quality dropped. But she’a been doing well with other ventures related to Jamaican cooking.
I feel for the guy Gordon ran up to asked did you order the Duck then when he says yes, just says I'm so sorry I will explain later and runs off with the Duck.
Lmao, the dudes face after 🤣

The funny thing is that people are gonna send the food back when they see that Gordon is in the restaurant. Once they see him they know what’s going on 😂
Run for the hills when I see Gordon in a restaurant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you’ve watched an episode, you pretty much should know what the problems are with your restaurant. 99% of the time it’s the food.
Thank you Sir Chef for the upload.
The best part about this episode are Cindee's swans
I’ll never understand why people choose to put themselves into a stupid situation. Buying a restaurant with no experience and expecting it to generate revenue on its own. If your partner in any way tries this don’t ever do it. At least take business and restaurant courses if you’re serious. Just crazy to see how many people act so immature even as adults. Live within your means.
only thing that looks remotely like danish food is that "rødkål" he spoons out in the beginning of the clip at 2:47 lol
Cindee is adorable. Love her swans ❤️❤️
The swans!!!!❤❤❤
So fucking sad they dropped the ball on Caesar Salad. It's literally the easiest salad to put together. Romaine, shaved parmesan, croutons, and that mayo sauce. How the hell they put carrots and radishes in it, I will never understand. And to have people waiting for 30+ minutes for lettuce and mayo is beyond me.
You forgot bacon, eggs and sometimes, anchovies.
@@tristanflynn4014?? Not in a Caesar salad... 🤢
@@caitlinmyriah7657Some people like food that actually has flavour. You can stick to letucce and croutons though to each their own.

I hate the disrespect of the elderly. One day they will be “Old Farts”. 😕
I feel bad for the elderly people eating that crap. The reason they were seeing some familiar names in the obits is probably because they ate there and keeled over shortly after.
