No instruments. All voices. Even the harmonica. There are tons of videos of him doing this live. These fellas are legit. And they cover almost every genre you can think of including opera.
Yep, saw them live earlier this year. If you doubt, watch one of the Adam Rupp drum solo videos. He also did a tutorial on the "nomonica", though it's not much use if you're not already a vocal genius!
they did layer for the official but all sounds are them. only thing that might not be is the end when chance fades out im not sure if thats him doing that or post editing.
@@Quizzy0000 Yes, there is layering here. When performing live Adam uses loops to do multiple parts, so it's still all them live, just some bits get duplicated to allow for more than five simultaneous voices.
That sound at the beginning is a jaw harp, done by Adam Chance. Home Free's harmonies are amazing. Adam Rupp does a great harmonica. Everything you hear is made by the human voice. Check out their "O Holy Night", "Ring of Fire", "How Great Thou Art", "God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood".
Home Free is incredible. Everything they do is great. And although they are a Country A-cappela group, they can really sing all genres. They really all have great voices with their own specialties. Even Adam Rupp who started the group with his brother Chris Rupp. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo but also to start other projects with his sister, among others. Adam Rupp-Beatboxer but is actually an inhuman freaking good mouth artist. (Hear the incredible no-monica) Tim Foust- Deep bass but also as a tenor and everything in between is possible. Austin Brown-High tenor with his great runs and high notes. Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses)-Tenor, with a voice like velvet and so much soul. Adam Chance (back left, who is called Chance) - Baritone/ Bass, a voice so smooth and sexy. And who here also makes the Jaw harp sound. There is no permanent lead singer in Home Free. They look at every song whose voice suits it best, the best harmony, no egos, no rivalries, great personalities etc. Besides, they can all beatbox (see their live performance 9to5). .. This is one of the many covers they do in addition to various originals, and each one is just amazing. Take the time to discover Home Free because it will be a great tour. For me they are number 1 A-Cappella group
Home Free are all incredibly talented. This is a cappella so no instruments. The beatboxer was doing the drums, harmonica and other sounds. Chance, back left, was doing the “mouth harp” sound. If you don’t believe it was the beatboxer check out Adam Rupp Drum Solo (2015). It’s just Adam and a microphone doing drums. Fantastic. This song was written over 100 years ago so the Soggy Bottom Boys was a cover too. If you hear more of their music you’ll realize you don’t need instruments. Try End of the Road!😍
A lot of people think that George Clooney sang the song in the movie, but it was really the uber-talented Dan Tyminski. Home Free did this 100% a capella. No instruments at all.
Welcome to Home Free rabbit hole. These boys are so talented. Adam Rupp is the best beatboxer around. No harmonica.Tim Foust is the bass and has a 5 octave range.💗💗💗💗
Yes, welcome to Home Free, all acapella, no instruments at all. Masters of all musical genres. Organized in a college dorm in Minnesota in 2000; they won the 4th season of the Sing Off in 2013. Two are from Minnesota, one from Georgia, one from Texas and one from Alabama (Current members, Chris left the group in 2016 and was replaced by Chance). Their covers are upgrades, their medleys are brilliant, their collaborations with the original artists are inspirational, and their original songs are masterpieces. Within this 5 man vocal band you have 5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, and 2 bass-baritones. Adam Rupp, one of the original founders of the group, is their beat boxer extraordinaire. All of them can sing lead and they choose depending on whose voice best fits the song. They can do just about anything and they continue to grow and improve, yet they remain so humble. When they have featured guest artist, they support and allow their featured artists to shine. Several of them have their own channels and do some solo work. And just for fun Rob and Austin sing Opera. What else can I say? Their catalogue of work is quite large and continues to grow. You are in for an exciting journey and the Home Fries will be there for you all the way.
This song has a long history, now 100 years old. I first learned it in the 60s by Bob Dylan, but it was already 50 years old. Younger generations know it from the Soggy Bottom Boys, but Home Free has brought it back again with their own new twist. Now ... just so you know, Home Free is totally vocal -- NO instruments! Follow them along their very long catalog of songs and you'll find absolute diversity and talent!
I think musical instrument usage is VERY minimal with Home Free, but not necessarily absolutely always absent, particularly when collaborating with other artists. Usually they only use some looping techno-wizardry at most to enhance their otherwise all vocal and natural sounds. Even then the original sounds are natural though. As a group they're very much A Cappella, but not adverse to dealing with musical instruments on occasion.
@@Seastallion But you will always see the instrument if it exists. The only 2 HF-only songs with guitar are Skull and Bones and So Long Dixie - I think of Chatham as part of the group on that one, since he co-wrote it and doesn't sing in it.
Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, is actually making the harmonica sound with his voice, and not an editing trick. He does it live. The highest note there, a G6, is within the range of most tenors, usually as a falsetto tone. Totally possible, without studio trickery. The man's a true talent, especially with his 'drumming', where you'd swear you could hear the hit of the stick on the snare. Adam's a beast.
The song was performed by the in-movie named Soggy Bottom Boys, but it was really guys from Union Station, who often back up Alison Krauss. In the movie it was done in a somewhat bluegrass style. The song dates from before country and bluegrass back around 1900 to 1913. Home Free doesn't use banjos and violins, so they go for more of a country style with a little bluegrass flavor. They especially focus on southern pronunciation as the lyrics indicate a man from the south going through hard times. I get the impression from the song that he is probably sick or injured and may die during the train trip. Remember, there were no antibiotics in the early 1900s. Lots of people died from wounds or pneumonia. That's Adam Rupp singing his no-monica. He has a really high tenor voice, which fits well with that sound. He makes lots of other difficult sound effects. Chance (Adam Chance), the last singer in frame, did the opening and closing jaw harp sound using a technique similar to Tibetan monk throat singing. He's a baritone, so his voice is a good match for the lower tone and mouth/throat/sinus resonance is used to support the overtones. It takes a good resonant voice and a lot of practice.
Great Reaction!! Welcome to Home Free rabbit hole. The group started in 2001 by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular. Though published in 1913 by Dick Burnett (who did not compose it) this song is an old American Folk Song. It was old when published - he just put it to paper - which then enabled him to earn from its use. Prior to that it was learned "by ear" having originated in & around Kentucky, Tennessee and thereabouts.
Actually there are several versions of the Drum Solo since it is a part of their live shows and it's filmed from different angles and distances from the stage. Plus, when got back on the road after the quarantine Adam started using a looper station.
You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there with a 5 octave range & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old (about 100 yrs.) & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
And yes, that is the monster that is Adam Rupp. He was born with a drum kit in his mouth and he does harmonica sounds, synth sounds, even duck sounds. The man is a BEAST! All of the guys can do some beat boxing. In fact, Chance is doing the jaw harp here. But Adam is on another level.
Welcome to what we call the no monica. Adam Rupp is a beast. (beatboxer) These guys are all a capella! The talent in this group will continue to blow your mind! Hope to see you do more from them!! Think you would enjoy their cover of "End of the road" or "listen to the music".
Just subscribed with hopes for more Home Free! They are the best! They do a huge variety of music and each have a very impressive vocal range. Their beatboxer cannot be beat but they can all make instrument sounds to some point. I don't even think of them as an acapella group anymore, just my favorite band.
HF 101: Group was formed in 2000, and beatboxer Adam Rupp is the last original member. Tenor Rob Lundquist (second soloist) introduced himself in 2008, about the time that the group became full-time. Bass Tim Foust has been breaking sound systems since 2012. Tenor Austin Brown (first soloist) met the group aboard a cruise ship in 2012, then came aboard early in 2013. Baritone Adam "Chance" replaced founding member Chris Rupp in 2016. All five can beatbox, all five can sing tenor or bass, and all but Adam Rupp sing lead.
Just subbed for more Home Free! All a capella!! We know, it's hard to believe, but yep... no instruments! You can find a live version on YT if you need to see for yourself, lol 😂
It's called the "No-Monica"......here's a cheat sheet for the group.....I appropriated it from another reaction: The group started in 2001 by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular. That is absolutely! Adam rupp using his mouth to make the harmonica sound without a harmonica. Did you going to have to watch more of their videos to find out. This is the best acapella group out there. Keep checking in my guys.
Thank you so much for the Home Free reaction, it is so appreciated! Imo, this is the best a cappella group out there! I hit subscribe, look forward to more reactions to them!🤗❤️ …..the vocalist from the movie was Dan Tyminski from Allison Krauss and Union Station a blue grass band.
They are simply the best out there. They make all the music with their mouth. Beatboxer is world class. Each member will take the lead in different songs. I challenge you to find a bad song.
New sub due to Home Free reaction. Yes everything is then. I got to see them a few weeks ago in person. It was freaking awesome. Love how they do the sounds w/ the looper for this sound. So you can see how they do it all. Then Adam and Austin both doing the harmonica sound is freaking good. Yall would love Boys II Men song.
The "harmonica" sound is done with a device inserted on the pallet inside the mouth. It allows one to make simulated sounds like a harmonica by pressing against it with you tongue while blowing over it. It's basically a reed like wind instruments have. So, technically, they did use one "instrument'.
Welcome to the rabbit hole. These guys are amazing and just as good live. Pick anything they do and it's fire 🔥. Two of them can do the harmonica with their voice.
Welcome to the world of Home Free-a talented, down-to-earth, accapella vocal band who are always surprising us! Hope you do more reactions to their breadth of videos!
The song dates back to early 20th century. I don't have the exact date but I think somewhere in the 1930s. All of the percussion plus additional sounds are produced by the beat boxer, the guy in suspenders. The harmonica sound is called by fans as the nomonica since there is no instrument involved except the guy's voice. The sound at the beginning and end is a Jaw Harp,.a very southern folk music tradition.
Yes they are accapella with everything beatbox, faux harmonica etc the base tim Foust imho is the smoothest deepest base ever. His base solo is followed by an even deeper base, they all have such talent thay they can pkay off each other
So, to check out their range and covers and videos: "When A Man Loves A Woman" - Percy Sledge "End of the Road" - Boys II Men "Brother" - "Butts Remix" "Full of Cheer" "O Holy Night" "American Pie" with Don Maclean and for a special treat: Austin Brown (lead singer in this video) and Rob Lundquist (guy with the glasses and overalls) singing the opera, "Nessun Dorma"
'Man of Constant Sorrow' is an American folk song with origins unknown, first published in a song book in 1913 and recorded in 1928. For the 2000 movie _O Brother Where Art Thou,_ George Clooney lip synced for the actual singer, Dan Tyminski (from the bluegrass group Alison Krauss & Union Station). Home Free released this video in 2017, featuring their acapella version of the old classic.
Try End of the Road cover; or for Christmas, Do You Hear What I Hear, etc. The lead here is Austin Brown (hat) with Rob Lindquist (glasses, who takes lead in the Boys To Men cover above) singing the accompanyment. no instruments, period. Btw, your top window guy sounds like that isn't his first Forty before reacting! 35 years back I'd want to party with that madman, lol!
Name your music flavor guys and Home Free will produce. Billed as country but are masters of nearly all genres. Country, hymns, do-wop, classic rock, rap, opera, great Christmas songs etc. etc. "End of the Road" Boyz to Men cover would be my suggestion for a next Home Free reaction. Truth is any Home Free song you choose will blow you away with their harmonies and arrangements. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. 'Do You Hear What I Hear' by HF is an amazing new take on this classic that is freakin' unreal.
Go watch one of their beatboxer's (Adam Rupp) drum solo live videos, you'll understand how it's ALL acapella then. I got to see them live on the 24th of Nov this yr. Sounds just as amazing live (but they blended Man of Constant Sorrow with another song Folsom Prison Blues)
HOME FREE is acapella and utilizes no electronics, instruments, or anything to manipulate the vocals. Watch Home Free Ring of Fire, Mayday, and the Butt Song.
#homefree will take you on a journey through all kinds of music. 4 great soloists who also mesh perfectly to great organ-like harmonies + a phenomenal beatboxer. They're all fine musicians with a knack for choosing really good music to cover in amazing arrangements. In addition to the recommendations already made, their collab with Kenny Rogers on the old gospel song Children Go Where I Send Thee is pretty epic, and it's a Christmas song, if you want to do that for the holidays.
Adam Rupp is a world class beatboxer and if you really want to hear him go off check out the video of his "drum solo" and Home Free's vover of Workin' For A Livin' if you want to hear him ho absolutely crazy on his "nomonica" solo. ✌️
And...another bunch falls down the rabbit hole. All y'all are so doomed. We’ll save you a chair. You’re about to be buried in Home Fries. Brace yourselves. Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks while they were scattered across the country. God bless ‘em. All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He’s a world-class vocal percussionist and there’re good reasons he’s called a “Freak of Nature” and “the man who swallowed a drum kit.” For more of Adam’s incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete’s sake), his no-monica solo on Working For A Living and Ain’t Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up (that video is on Facebook), Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer (sleigh bells? seriously?) or his drum solos. For more of Tim’s seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version). This man’s range is incredible. You won’t want to miss his 5-octave run in 5 seconds in “Do You Hear What I Hear?” For Chance’s smooth baritone/bass, check out Skull & Bones, Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, Cover Me Up, I Can’t Outrun You, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome.. basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow. For Rob’s soulful tenor, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain’t Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.) One Home Fry has described him as the vocal equivalent of a Swiss Army knife because of his versatility. For Austin’s soaring tenor, check out Crazy, Moonshine, When A Man Loves a Woman, or Bring Him Home. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he’ll sing you right out of it.) For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Life Is A Highway, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Brother, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget (Tim wrote the worst country song he could think of, and it remains one of their most requested.) A word about “Brother” - if you want to hear the lyrics, you’re going to have to listen with youreyes closed, ‘cause otherwise you’ll never get past the humor of the video to actually hear what they’re singing. For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam’s arrangement. Nothing else like it.) For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne. For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let’s Get It On, Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female. The Home Free men are masters of collaborations. They put the spotlight on their collaborator, supporting them with wonderful vocals and amazing harmonies. Check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, Children Go Where I Send Thee with the late Kenny Rogers, Don’t Laugh At Me with Mark Wills, Christmas In Dixie with Alabama, Delta Dawn with Brooke Eden, or Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For with Peter Hollens. Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video. After Mayday, you’ll be ready for Tim and Austin doing My Maria or Tim’s mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay. Then, when you come up for air, check out Rob’s and Austin’s “Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera.” You’ll need smelling salts after that one. Don’t miss their official videos. The Home Free men will often do a straight, gorgeous vocal performance, but they’ll add elements of humor to the video that will leave you chuckling or even laughing out loud. (Folsom Prison Blues, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Working For A Living, Brother). And God help you when you get hit with the Home Free Curse. They’ll cover a song you absolutely cannot stand and make you like it against your will. I’d been hit by the curse four times before I gave up and quit counting. I’m not the only victim of the Home Free Curse, either. Although their covers are amazing, don’t miss their original compositions. They range from the the poignant (So Long Dixie) to the patriotic (Land Of the Free). These include Dive Bar Saints (one of my favorites), Road Sweet Road, Catch Me If You Can, Give Me A Sign, Lonely Girl’s World, The Stargazer Trilogy, Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget, Love Me Like That, Skull And Bones, and many, many more. Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road, Only In America) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don’t just own a cover, they upgrade it.” You are doomed, Home Fries. Bring ketchup. PS - O Brother Where Art Thou? is a modern retelling of The Odyssey.
I saw them in concert a week and a half ago sitting dead center 9 rows from the stage. He did the harmonica things multiple times throughout the show. Very cool and from 50 feet away he was doing it no question.
This song was fleshed out during the depression when men would look hundreds of miles away to find work to feed themselves or their families. And down south they would jump a train to go north to the big cities to find jobs, like Detroit or Chicago and New York city. But everybody was hurting across the country to make a living even in the cities.
_I am a man of constant sorrow,_ _I've seen trouble all my day_ _I bid farewell to old Kentucky,_ _The place where I was born and raised_ _(The place where he was born and raised)_ _For six long years I've been in trouble,_ _No pleasures here on earth I found_ _For in this world I'm bound to ramble,_ _I have no friends to help me now_ _(He has no friends to help him now)_ _It's fare thee well my old lover_ _I never expect to see you again_ _For I'm bound to ride that northern railroad,_ _Perhaps I'll die upon this train_ _(Perhaps he'll die upon this train)_ _You can bury me in some deep valley,_ _For many years where I may lay_ _Then you may learn to love another,_ _While I am sleeping in my grave_ _(While he is sleeping in his grave)_ _Maybe your friends think I'm just a stranger_ _My face, you'll never see no more_ _But there is one promise that is given_ _I'll meet you on God's golden shore_ _(He'll meet you on God's golden shore)_
Home Free is great and have leaned country since being on the Sing Off show in 2013 which they won, however, they sing all genres, even opera! Check out Do You Hear What I Hear? or O Holy Night for spectacular seasonal music arrangements or Ring of Fire to feel the bass or Butts Medley to see HF's fun side and repetoire of genres. Also listen to End Of the Road (Boyz to Men cover)--you'll hear the sooooul in that one ooze out of Rob. The Coen Brothers' (also Minnesota boys) movies usually end up being cult classics and/or winning Oscars (Fargo, O Brother Where Art Thou?, Barton Fink, No Country For Old Men, Blood Simple, The Lady Killers, Raising Arizona, The Big Lebowski and so on). They are superb at character development and dark comedies. You def need to check out Home Free music AND Coen Brothers movies.
He plays sooo much different instruments...one of hes latest songs is joy of christmas (from his bands Majesticas records, they have made songs based on the christmas carol, Scrooge), it is soo beautyful, goes right into your soul ❤❤❤❤
Wait until you're hear them do "End of the Road". It will knock your socks off. It's actually a very old American Folk song but they made a bluegrass version of it for the movie. And the sound you think is a didgeridoo is actually the sound of a mouth harp done by Chance, the baritone. Adam, the beatboxer does the harmonica live all the time. He also does a dueling harmonica with this song live with Austin, the lead singer here. I heard from a beatboxer that it's at least partially done through the nose. If you look closely, you can see in one part that he's pinching off his right nostril.
Home Free describes itself as a country acapella band, but they do many other things as well. You cannot pin them down to one genre. There is no lead singer. They either take different verses as they did here or pick the member whose voice best fits the song. So here are the guys and a recommendation that features each of them as the lead: Front row left to right: Rob Lundquist - lead tenor - smooth voice with a lot of soul - End of the Road Austin Brown = high tenor - incredibly strong and flexible voice - When a Man Loves a Woman Tim Foust = Bass = five octave range and "plays" the bass guitar - Brothers in Arms Back row left to right: Adam Chance (aka Chance) - rich baritone w/ 3 octave range - Cover me Up Adam Rupp - beatboxer extraordinaire - beat box solo, Listen to the Music
They all have phenomenal talent, but I wouldnt pass on seeing the film (O' Brother where Art Thow). Its def worth a watch, hilarious, fun, adventure, action, a bit of drama, all around great film. Thanx so much, take care, Peace
Guys, just for shits and Giggles try these two by Home Free, 1. When A Man Loves A Woman, 2. Listen To The Music. Then you will see just how good these guys really are.
I've seen them three times now and have yet to see one instrument on stage. They do use a couple of loopers so they can add an extra voice but, other than that, what you're seeing is exactly what you get
Great reaction. Welcome to the homefree rabbit whole. We fans are known worldwide as homefries. Welcome to the No Monica all the instruments you think are all done by the human voice. If you like this video I suggest reacting to adam rupp's Drum Solo he does in concert he is the beatboxer in this group they are the only vocal country acapella group in the world.
Chris Thomas King is the young man playing the guitar in the movie. He plays a Robert Johnson like character, named Tommy Johnson. He also put out his own version of this song on one of his albums. In the movie they also used one of his original songs 'Killing Floor Blues'.
Glad you reacted to my favorite vocal group. All extremely talented. Would love to hear your reaction to more HF. Cover of Boyz to Men, End of the Road is great, another one I Would suggest is Folsom Prison Blues. Some crazy from the beatboxer and some good bass in this one. There are so many that you would like it’s hard to pick a few. Be sure to do When a Man Loves a Woman. I believe Percy Sledge was the first to record it and there is also a Michael Bolton version. Both very nice but I think these boys take it to a whole new place. HF fans are called Home Fries and are a loyal bunch. We also call these covers ‘upgrades’. (By the way there are several videos of Adam Rupp, beatboxer, doing a drum solo. Worth watching ).

Yeah, techno-wizardry aside the source sounds themselves are all natural.
*Fellers. LOL
Acapella means no instruments. All sounds are done by the human mouth. Check out the videos of Adam Rupp. He is the beatboxer extraordinaire.
He performs this live too and he sounds just like a harmonica!!!
(Hear the incredible no-monica)
Tim Foust- Deep bass but also as a tenor and everything in between is possible.
Love watching you discover these guys. End of the Road by them next.
Why you doubtin'! Home Free is the best. Adam Rupp (beat boxer) is world class. They legit mate!
No instruments except for an astoundingly talented beat boxer, Adam Rupp. Love the song, hate you guys wasting so much arguing like 10 yr. olds.
This is very real you need to keep checking them out and you will believe.
@@nancyholter5646
Indeed. As I said, VERY minimal.
The song was written in 1913...
The group started in 2001 by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp
They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular.
They are the only country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they are honestly do so so much more than just country music they can sing any genre and they do.
There is no Lead singer in the group. They each ( except Adam )sing the song and who’s ever voice or voices sound right for the song gets the lead unless is a bass/ baritone song then that’s Tim or Chance.A lot of time they each have a part in the song.
Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries and are very loyal to the guys.

They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is
Sorry for the long read 🍟😊
No instruments guys! Home Free can create the illusion of a band with their acapella skills and a world class beatboxer!
Oh, I can’t wait to see your reactions to more of their stuff!
Oh ye who are unbelivers, watch Adam Rupp (*the beatboxer) has a video called "Drum Solo". You def need to watch that one.
Actually there are several versions of the Drum Solo since it is a part of their live shows and it's filmed from different angles and distances from the stage. Plus, when got back on the road after the quarantine Adam started using a looper station.
Welcome to the "Nomonica" gents. Check out their cover of Working for a Living. You'll hear and even higher note by Adam, the beatboxer
I have seen the no-monica live. It is 100% adam and his genius talent.
He is making those harmonica sounds. Yes he is!
Just subbed for more Home Free! All a capella!! We know, it's hard to believe, but yep... no instruments! You can find a live version on YT if you need to see for yourself, lol 😂
Thanks for the sub!
It's called the "No-Monica"......here's a cheat sheet for the group.....I appropriated it from another reaction: The group started in 2001 by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular. They are the only country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they are honestly do so so much more than just country music they can sing any genre and they do.
I hit subscribe, look forward to more reactions to them!🤗❤️ …..the vocalist from the movie was Dan Tyminski from Allison Krauss and Union Station a blue grass band.
you welcome!
Adam Rupp is the beat boxer making the vast majority of the instrumental sounds. He’s a human drum set.
Everybody calls the harmonica, Adam's nomonica!
You probably need to hear their Buuts Medley. It is hilarious. If you want Christmas fun, they did a fun cover of Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer.
Home Free ftw!! If you react to it....the Home Fries will come!! 🔥🔥
Subbed for more #HomeFree. Love them. They’re the best. Great reaction ❤
hahahahaha. Adam Rupp made a video telling how he does the harmonica sound, if you can understand it..
the guy is a genius
Dude its all acspella adam sure as hell can hit those notes. He does even more!!!
They are simply the best out there. They make all the music with their mouth. Beatboxer is world class. Each member will take the lead in different songs. I challenge you to find a bad song.
All accapella!!! They're amazing, watch more!
I'm not even a professional musician and I can do that harmonica thing with my mouth and my hands too. Adam is amazing.
Absolutely EVERY Song the sing is amazing!! ZERO disappointment 🥰♥️🎶
Welcome to the world of Home Free-a talented, down-to-earth, accapella vocal band who are always surprising us! Hope you do more reactions to their breadth of videos!
He hits the live, nothing edited in. He says he started with Cartman from So Park and twisted into his harmonica sounds. Hes amazing
Subbed for more HF!!! Best of the best!!! No instruments! They are incredible live. Austin, Chance, Rob, Tim and the amazing beatboxer Adam!!!!
thank u!
God a new sub for more reactions to Home Free!!! NO instruments fellas :) Merry Christmas ya'll.
Thanks for the sub!
Adam Rupp, the beat boxer, is world class, and he does a drum solo to "convince the skeptics..." on stage... There are some examples on TH-cam.
This is a very old song . The music from the George Clooney movie was played by Union Station, a Bluegrass band
This beatboxer makes all the sounds with his voice He has won World Champion in contests more than once.
For those that just like feeling old, O' Brother Where Art Thou premiered in the U.S. in December, 2000. It's 23 years old. Ouch.
His base solo is followed by an even deeper base, they all have such talent thay they can pkay off each other
So, to check out their range and covers and videos:
"When A Man Loves A Woman" - Percy Sledge
"End of the Road" - Boys II Men
"Brother" -
"Butts Remix"
"Full of Cheer"
"O Holy Night"
"American Pie" with Don Maclean
and for a special treat:
Austin Brown (lead singer in this video) and Rob Lundquist (guy with the glasses and overalls) singing the opera, "Nessun Dorma"
The first published sheet music was published in the 1920’s. The origins of this song is much older. I’m not sure just how old it is.
According to dynamics, a sincere reaction.
He is right. O' Brother Where Art Thou. Good movie and yes, Soggy Bottom Boys
Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, has a vocal range that extends up to G#6 - the harmonica sound really IS made by his voice.
Soggy bottom boys for life. Lol
The whole sound track from that movie was a Sunday coffee vibe.
Dude! There are no instruments! There is live videos of it. Subscribed for Home Free 🤟🤠🤟
Adam Rupp is a world class beatboxer and if you really want to hear him go off check out the video of his "drum solo" and Home Free's vover of Workin' For A Livin' if you want to hear him ho absolutely crazy on his "nomonica" solo. ✌️
All voice! That beatboxer is a beast! And the voices are all incredible!
You won’t want to miss his 5-octave run in 5 seconds in “Do You Hear What I Hear?”
For Chance’s smooth baritone/bass, check out Skull & Bones, Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, Cover Me Up, I Can’t Outrun You, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome.. basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow.
(But bolt down your chair ‘cause he’ll sing you right out of it.)
For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Life Is A Highway, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Brother, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget (Tim wrote the worst country song he could think of, and it remains one of their most requested.) A word about “Brother” - if you want to hear the lyrics, you’re going to have to listen with youreyes closed, ‘cause otherwise you’ll never get past the humor of the video to actually hear what they’re singing.
For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam’s arrangement. Nothing else like it.)
For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne.
(Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road, Only In America) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don’t just own a cover, they upgrade it.”
You are doomed, Home Fries.
Yep every sound you here are done the 5 guys you see in the video , and yes they do this song in there live shows
The guy making the harmonica sound is Adam Rup. Watch the Adam Ruo Drum solo clio.

_I've seen trouble all my day_

Beat boxing at its best. And the the nomonica. All acapella. Look it up. Don't piss off the Home Fries. Look up Adam Rupp drum solo for the doubters.

They are great and yes no harmonica they sing anything including opera a fun one is Hillbilly Bone
Home Free describes itself as a country acapella band, but they do many other things as well. You cannot pin them down to one genre. There is no lead singer. They either take different verses as they did here or pick the member whose voice best fits the song. So here are the guys and a recommendation that features each of them as the lead:
Front row left to right:
Rob Lundquist - lead tenor - smooth voice with a lot of soul - End of the Road
Austin Brown = high tenor - incredibly strong and flexible voice - When a Man Loves a Woman
Tim Foust = Bass = five octave range and "plays" the bass guitar - Brothers in Arms
Back row left to right:
Adam Chance (aka Chance) - rich baritone w/ 3 octave range - Cover me Up
Adam Rupp - beatboxer extraordinaire - beat box solo, Listen to the Music
"he's 18 now" That's some funny shit.
They all have phenomenal talent, but I wouldnt pass on seeing the film (O' Brother where Art Thow). Its def worth a watch, hilarious, fun, adventure, action, a bit of drama, all around great film. Thanx so much, take care, Peace
#HOMEFREE!
Song is over a hundred years old.
Listen to lyrics words like ramble and fair thee well Listen Song is timeless
Guys, just for shits and Giggles try these two by Home Free, 1. When A Man Loves A Woman, 2. Listen To The Music. Then you will see just how good these guys really are.
I've seen them three times now and have yet to see one instrument on stage. They do use a couple of loopers so they can add an extra voice but, other than that, what you're seeing is exactly what you get
Adam Rupp explains the harmonica sound.
The movie version was Allison Krause and the Union Station
This song is from around 1913, over a hundred years ago, not originally from O Brother were art thou
Great reaction. Welcome to the homefree rabbit whole. We fans are known worldwide as homefries. Welcome to the No Monica all the instruments you think are all done by the human voice. If you like this video I suggest reacting to adam rupp's Drum Solo he does in concert he is the beatboxer in this group they are the only vocal country acapella group in the world.
thank you
Chris Thomas King is the young man playing the guitar in the movie. He plays a Robert Johnson like character, named Tommy Johnson. He also put out his own version of this song on one of his albums. In the movie they also used one of his original songs 'Killing Floor Blues'.
Check out the R&B they do like End of the Road or When a Man Loves a Woman. You will trip.
A capella ❤
It's called A Capella, all voices, no instruments and the technique is known as "NO-MONICA!!!" LOL!!!!! (No harmonica!!!) LOL!!!!!!!!!
