Dude, I've gotta be honest, this is also a super cool experience for me. It's kinda interesting to see somebody mirror what my earliest reaction journey was like. It's awesome to see this random musician I liked from TH-cam shorts with not nearly enough viewers getting some loving attention from the same community that made me feel like I could do TH-cam. The RENegades have always been supportive of whatever I've tried to do, have always reached out to me when my life was going through turbulence, have suggested tons of good music for me to listen to, and always promote positivity. It's been such a blessing to get to share the friends that accepted me with you, my friend. It's been great to see your reaction to music that also stirred and fascinated me. It's been amazing to see your channel go from the 52 subs I found you with. Very well deserved, homie. My advice from this point forward? Follow the journey organically. Keep making your music to share with the kind folks that watch you react to music, and feel free to explore. I've always got a song suggestion or fifty in the hopper, but follow what interests you so it doesn't become mundane or monotonous. Always be kind, but never feel like you can't be honest. Music and your knowledge thereof is a strength so never be afraid to utilize it in your reactions. Let your journey be influenced by those that come to watch, but steered by your heart and the things that have been singing to your soul. The best reactions are the ones that matter to us, ya know? Finally, be careful about reacting to too much heavy fare music. Don't be afraid to ask viewers for some lighter hearted songs if you find you're coincidentally listening to a lot of emotionally taxing songs in a row. I learned that one the hard way and, thankfully, the RENegades have always suggested songs that made me smile when I needed one. There was no possible way I could take every viewer I have and force them to listen to you as much as I wish I could, but my thought was maybe if you could find this wonderful community of people that you could develop a relationship with based on your sharing of thoughts and emotions, maybe they'd be willing to listen to your music too. I love your reactions, but I'll always be a fan of your music first.
Thanks for the beautiful message. I definitely didn't see myself becoming a reaction guy, but hey, I'm here for it. I've really enjoyed the 2 I've done so far, but my own music will always come 1st for me! I think if I continue with the reaction game id like to do a combo of music that is suggested to me and reacting to music that already inspires me to drive it back to my own music. You've made a tremendous contribution to my following and I thank you for it! Keep being awesome and thanks for the support!
On the second watch I realized how the descending chromatic guitar riff in Violet's Tale is him rewinding time and then he fast forwards again at the end with an ascending chromatic riff. Very cool detail!
Fantastic reaction brother! Right at the start you mentioned John Fruchianti (sp) .. funnily enough he was one of Rens major influences. He shouts him out in his song Power - which is a banger, you should definitely check it out.

Well done bud, I'm a renegade and currently building him a guitar. It's unfortunately a true story that he read in a newspaper they provide on public transport called the metro. 😢 You've got a new subscriber as you actually know what you're talking about unlike some of the ren reactors.
@wynandfouriemusic no problem dude, I'll be watching your channel. Hopefully my guitar will appear at some point. Got some pretty special rosewood or ebony for the fretboard and I generally use paua inlays as they have a bit more character than white mop which I have plenty of that is made with a local shellfish called an ormer but is essentially a type of abalone. He is in Calgary for treatment trying to fix his body even now! With his song "Troubles'' you can learn more about a part of his journey. @AnitaTsenova Thank you for the insight. He speaks about the autoimmune disease in Hi Ren, but I didn't know it's lyme disease! He's clearly gone through a lot and it's very empowering to think about the reach he gained and the lives he's touching
In one of the numerous Ren interviews I watched, he said the idea for Jenny & Screech came from an article he read about a teenage prostitute being robbed and killed by a teenage boy. He found it rather disturbing that the writer of the article said it was "such a shame" (quite the understatement in Ren's opinion). The part about Screech being shot by the cops is IIRC fiction. Violet's tale is 100% fiction and was written several years after J & S. J & S were 14 at the time of the videos (2019) thus the "rewind" to 2005 in Violet's tale.
Also - re. your remark about planning & timing (26:42) I suggest you try Ren's video _Animal Flow_ . The music video, not the live version. You'll see what I mean. So many "moving parts" in that one-take video.
Wynand is speaking the truth about South Africa. Number 2 in the world for murder and number 1 for rape. I left finally after my baby brother was murdered for the little money in his wallet 😢
OMG... just started listening and as soon as I heard you speak about your passion for John Frusciante 's playing... I started grinning. Ren was so into JF, he self taught himself watching JF. I'm pretty sure he mentions it in an interview somewhere.
Perhaps to see a bit different side of Ren check out him with his band The Big Push doing a mashup of "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/HipHop" *THE ONE WITH RED SUSPENDERS* (The band had to disband in 2022 so Ren could go to Canada for specialized treatments which lasted 18 months; only got a few months back home & he is now back in Canada again as he relapsed). Another cool one is his arrangment of 5 EDM songs by Fred Again into a great acoustic performance. Fred Again Mashup. For Jazzy/soul Ren, check out The Big Push "Wade in the water Nina Simone / Trouble so hard" so good - Ren is on Bass. For Smooth R&B/Soul check out his Retake-Mashup of " Back on 74 / Message in a Bottle." So good! He made an original Hip Hop album Sick Boi that got #1 in the U.K. as an independent last year - lots of great songs. His next one he is working on is going to be an original guitar & singing based album.
@krystalIvy1996 Sorry I should have listened to the beginning all I heard was later on him saying he didn't know anything about Ren. I will check before speaking next time.

The Renaissance world will be here shortly. So much to see from Ren and the band he was in with his talented band members called The Big Push. they did covers and wrote their own songs. Romain, Ren , Gorran and forgive me I've forgotten the drummers name. Romain is French and to hear this check out Bongo Bong from the big push. I've already checked on some of your own music, 🔥🔥 Ren's "Chalkk Out Lines" (Live) and Back on 74/ Messagge in a Bottle" are songs both on electric guitar, that go a little bit closer with your type of compositions and music, review & check em out ... Peace✌
After those two reactions it’s time to switch gears and look at something that’s a little bit lighter. You have many options in Ren’s world. Perhaps to see a bit different side of Ren check out him with his band The Big Push doing a mashup of "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/HipHop" *THE ONE WITH RED SUSPENDERS*
(The band had to disband in 2022 so Ren could go to Canada for specialized treatments which lasted 18 months; only got a few months back home & he is now back in Canada again as he relapsed).
@majbrat Awesome im excited to dive in!
Renegade here to support your channel. Subbed for more Ren! Like he says "a rising tide lifts all ships".
Ive been getting amazing support from the Ren family, it's very inspiring!
72yo Aussie Ren-egade again. Addictive, isn't it? Enjoy the journey.
@jenniferanderson1499 Im loving it, thanks!
I don't know where this is going...like a romance... I guffawed.
🤣🤣🤣
Subscribed for more Ren and especially one of the bands Ren was in called the big push please ❤❤❤
Definitely doing a Big Push reaction next!
Great reaction. I've subscribed 😊
Awesome thank you so much! Definitely gonna do more reactions, watch this space!
Strong one to start you into the Ren rabbit hole. Welcome. Try Hi Ren another live performance video.
He's done Hi Ren 😊
@krystalIvy1996 Sorry I should have listened to the beginning all I heard was later on him saying he didn't know anything about Ren. I will check before speaking next time.
No worries! There's definitely more Ren coming! Thanks for checking out my videos, I really appreciate it 🙏
Great reaction buddy, jenny n screech were the wind, brother and sister! Very deep, 😔👍🏻
Twins I meant 👍🏻
Yeah man! The cycle of abuse goes deep! Very gripping tale
@@wynandfouriemusic I grew up wae it but haven't repeated the cycle, which I'm quite proud of, looking forward to your next reaction buddy love from Scotland 👍🏻🏴
@neilmenzies7193 Im sorry to hear you had to grow up in that kind of environment, but good for you for breaking the cycle! We need more people like you in the world🙌
@@wynandfouriemusic thanks buddy I'm 42 now and had my struggles but came out the other side 😁
Ren is n amazing artist! Gaan kyk asb Money Game Trioligy!!!

Hello,
Thank you very much for this great reaction. You picked up so many details from this first hearing and you were really authentic describing what you felt.
I really appreciated watching this. Cheers mate ! 🙂
That's really awesome to hear! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Nice.👍💕🦇

Welcome to the RENiverse. The Ren rabbit hole. I dare you to stop. Lol New SUB!
Thanks for subbing, this train has left the station, there's no stopping now!
If you want to hear 🔥🔥🔥 guitars and voices, check out "The Big Push" Rens former busking band. Its much more joy and fun and not as dark as his Bardcore stuff. 😃❤
I love the word 'Bardcore'. Definitely gonna check it out!
When he's on the bed in violets tale singing woooo woooo and looking round eyes wide open I took that as screech being born. Probably wrong but it's a thought
@@HaroldGreb Interesting thought!
English man in new York, one of their own songs is Swan song , written by Gorran. Anyway so much to choose from as well as Romains own channel
I definitely want to check this out!
Just wait until you watch Money Game pt. 3. you will be speachless again
Is it a heavy one, or a lighter one?
I've already checked on some of your own music, 🔥🔥
Ren's "Chalkk Out Lines" (Live) and Back on 74/ Messagge in a Bottle" are songs both on electric guitar, that go a little bit closer with your type of compositions and music, review & check em out ...
Peace✌
Thanks for the suggestions, very curious to see what he does on electric! I have my work cut out for me!
Yes, Screech's friend Patrick and his girlfriend were together when he was knocking on Patrick's door
Daaamn that's rough buddy!
Rens girlfriend and Patrick were unavailable because they were all together at the time Screech was knocking. Welcome to the Reniverse
Wait what!?
this was based off a true story, and a lot of his videos are one takes.yes he was 14 years old.
It's so fascinating! Do you think Ren sees himself in Screech?
After those two reactions it’s time to switch gears and look at something that’s a little bit lighter.
You have many options in Ren’s world. I suggest that you take a look at his former band The Big Push. the songs ‘Icarus’, ‘Bongo Bong’, ‘Praise You’, and ‘Sweet Little Lady’ are my suggestions. Enjoy!
Im definitely gonna check something lighter out next, this has been an intense couple of days! Those songs sit with you...
What piple said.
Ren is self taught, by the way... :)
Most great musicians are! Or at least in my opinion
