Welcome to the greatest A capella group on the planet with the richest harmonies by far. They lean mostly country, but they do all different genres with their covers and they have a lot of original material as well, since the lead singer and the bass singer are both established songwriters. They also have several Christmas albums and they are amazing. They have nearly 200 videos and a half a billion views on TH-cam of their collective body of work. Each member is a lead singer in their own right and the beatboxer is literally a world class human percussionist. If you plan to react to any Christmas songs this season, these are their three best: O Holy Night, Mary Did You Know, and the amazing Do You Hear What I Hear, and one of their originals: Snow Globe, like a doo wop holiday love song. Looking forward to seeing you two down the HF rabbit hole!

Welcome to the world of Home Free! yes, they are all acapella. The beat boxer is second to none. The base (Tim) can sing five octaves. Their harmony is amazing.
The start and the end of the song...the instrument that Adam Chance is duplicating is called the "Jaw Harp" It's a Southern US instrument. Sounds very similar to the dijiri-do .
Always love to see folks hearing Home Free for the first time! A friendly hint.... use headphones... you will hear their background harmonies better.... and even more layers! Welcome to Home Free.... home of Tim Foust, Our Dragon Lord!
Welcome to the amazing world of Home Free. Call themselves a country vocal band. They are the whole package. They do anything and everything. Please do American Pie. They are down to earth guys who have a fun side as well as a serious side.

Home Free is a national treasure. Since you recently reacted to "American Pie" you should know that, last year, for the fiftieth anniversary of that song, Don McClean got together with Home Free to do a version with them. They also collaborated with The Oak Ridge Boys on "Elvira", and, one for the Christmas season, with Kenny Rogers on "Go Where I Send Thee". All superb.

Welcome to the world of Home Free, with us Home Fries here to support Home Free reactions !!! You have a great journey ahead of you, as they have more than 200 music videos on TH-cam also more from fans at their concerts & their behind the scenes videos too. Helpful suggestion....use headphones/earbuds, as you'll miss a lot of the intricacies of their harmonies. American Pie would be a great 2nd reaction video, but they also have some awesome Christmas videos too. With American Pie you'll get to hear them all (except the beatboxer) share the lead....and yes Don McLean sings with them on the 50th anniversary of his classic & iconic song.
Keep in mind Tim Foust (bass) hits an octave lower after his solo, just freakin' remarkable! He actually has an incredible 5 octave range, crazy good!!!
I see you recently saw Don McLean's "American Pie". I would suggest the collaboration Home Free did with Don. It gives each of the members a few moments in the spotlight. Also, each of these gentlemen have amazing solo projects and collaborations with other artists including members of Voiceplay and Pentatonix.
Welcome to Home Free. They all have a 3-5 octave range, they all beat box, They have a lot if fun (funny) stuff (remixes mashups etc.), they cover all genres, including opera if that's your thing, more Christian and Christmas music than you can shake a stick at. Their fan base (called Home Fries) is huge and extremely loyal. If you do frequent reactions to them, you'll see your subscriber count jump. You just got me. I suggest The Butts Medley (aka remix) next.
Welcome to one of the three top vocal groups. The other two to check out are Pentatonix and VoicePlay. If you like bass singers I also suggest checking out Geoff Castellucci.
It's true, no instruments. You will have to hear some of their Xmas songs-they will blow you away. Here are 3 must hear-O Holy Night, Mary Did You Know and one of their funny videos: What Xmas Means To Me-this is a real rabbit hole of talent-They can do any genre. They are amazing!
They do many genres but mostly in the broader country area. You can't go wrong with home free in my opinion. Lots of Christmas songs as well if you want to get any in the season. They have a number of purely funny ones as well. Christmas/hymn - Do you hear what I hear, Cold Hard Cash for Christmas, Amazing Grace, How great thou art (many others) Others - In The Blood, Some Girls Do, Hillbilly Bone, End of The Road Quite a few originals as well -
The bass singer is Tim Foust and that isn"t even low for him. You should listen to Home Free sing Ring of fire with Avi Caplin from Pentatonix as a guest singer. This truely will blow your mind. Love both of your comments and look forward to more of your reaction videos.
Chance in the back left that you didn't really hear singing was doing the jaw harp. What you said sounded like a digereedoo was the jaw harp that's 2 pieces of metal with rubber bands. And you're right he was doing something similar to Mongolian throat singing. Their arrangement of Do You Hear What I Hear is amazing.
You have entered a musical universe where wonder, hilarity and delight await around every corner. Welcome aboard, fasten your seatbelts, and prepare for sensory overload in several dimensions. Great reaction!
The 'didgeridoo' sound you're hearing is indeed created vocally by the use of throat singing, though it's meant to sound like a jaw harp rather than a didgeridoo.
Glad you discovered Home Free! Everything they do is great! Check out “When a man loves a women”, “End of the road” to start you on your journey! Actually, anything you select will make you happy. Enjoy!!♥️👍
You really need to listen to them with earbuds or headphones to get the full effect. They are AMAZING! I’ve seen them live twice. The bass and beatboxing is SO much better with earbuds / earphones!!
Now is a great time to be covering their Christmas music, but a great song to follow up with is their version of Huey Lewis's Working for a Living - you get to hear Chance, the singer not featured in this video, and it has their names on screen.
Great reaction in discovering HF!!! Welcome to Home Fry land!!! I echo since it is the holidays to begin with their covers of more traditional songs and then progress to the funnier side! No one and I mean no one performs a traditional Christmas carol better than HF!!! They sound like an entire choir!!! Keep the tissues handy. Thanks for sharing!
If you watch closely at the end, you can see it’s actually Adam Chance the baritone doing the didgeridoo or jaw harp sound. Adam Rupp is the beatboxer and he is 2x world champion beatboxer. Tim Foust is the bass with a 5 octave range. When Tim is singing lead, Chance will take over the bass. Austin Brown is the first singer in this song and he’s an incredible tenor. Rob Lundquist is the second guy in this song (with the glasses) and he is also an incredible tenor. Can’t wait to see you react to more of these guys! Might check out their cover of Mary Did You Know and Do You Hear What I Hear since it’s the holiday season. New subscriber!!
Well, this will blow your minds: Rob and Austin (glasses and hat) recently released a video of themselves singing "Nessun Dorma." Yes, opera. Have a listen. And Tim (deep voice) Foust does covers with Peter Hollens. Definitely check out their version of "Misty Mountains." Then, since you love deep voices, try Geoff Castellucci singing "16 tons."
Yup. 100% vocals. Adam Rupp, their vocal percussionist is unbelievably talented. And the combination of their voices is fabulous. The didgeridoo sound was actually the jaw harp, produced by one of the boys. They do everything from country to R & B to classic rock and everything in between, even opera. Really. I would suggest that you listen with headphones because there is so much going on in their arrangements. There are something in the neighborhood of 130 more videos. Start anywhere. You can't go wrong.
Love Home Free you are in for a treat. They sing so many great songs...When a man loves a woman lead singer Austin Brown. Also Brothers in Arms. Very moving.... They are all terrific!!! They play shows all over the United States...Great reaction ladies!!
You will not be disappointed with any video you select! Home Free has an amazing range of different styles of music that they can sing! Go ahead explore!
LOL y'all will love this rabbit hole! Remember don't do Mayday till you learn each of what The Guys do and their names! We Home Fries will enjoy your reaction when you finally do watch Mayday! They are amazing! 😊. Also you really need headphones to hear everything when listening to HF!
Yes, there are no instruments. That's Adam Rupp - beatboxer/percussionist extraordinaire playing the "nomonica". The mouth or jaw harp sound was made by Adam "Chance" - baritone. These guys are so talented and diverse. They cover all genres and have quite a few originals also. Their blend/harmonies are unmatched. I'd suggest "When a Man Loves a Woman", "Take Me Home Country Roads", "End of the Road", "Can't Stop the Feeling", and/or "In the Blood" to start. Loved your reaction! Btw, fans of Home Free are called "home fries" ------> 🍟
Peter Hollins and Tim Foust (the guy singing bass) sing Misty Mountains that is out of this world! It's only the two voices but they 'layer' them in a fantastic harmony! You have to check it out. Tim Foust also does a mash up of Stay/Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow and you will be surprised! The guy in the hat sings When a Man Loves a Woman that is breathtaking. Between Pentatonix and Home Free you will enjoy some epic music! Amazing for no instruments. Pentatonix every once in awhile will feature a guest star with an instrument, or their beatboxer is so talented he will play a cello and Cello Box. You will see the instrument in the video. Thank you for reacting and Merry Christmas!
New sub for Home Free! You have just found the best group in my opinion. The didgeridoo sound was done by Adam Chance who goes by Chance he was in the back behind the guy with glasses and his name is Rob Lundquist and the bass singer is Tim Foust and he has a 5+ octave range an unbelievable talent and Adam Rupp is the amazing beatboxer he is also the co founder of the group. He is a walking instrument. and of course the guy that took lead in this song is the amazing Austin Broun, This group can do any genre. If you want your minds blown you need to check out their cover of "When A Man Loves A Woman" I promise you won't regret it. They have so many great songs the rabbit hole is deep and us Home Fries (Home Free fans) will go down that rabbit hole with you.
You have only touched the tip of Home Free ladies. Go down that rabbit whole. You will not be disappointed. The best acapella band out there. Go listen to "How Great Thou Are" Beautiful!!!!!
Hey there! Welcome to the world of Home Free. This is just the very beginning of this incredible rabbit hole. Fans of Home Free are called "Home Fries" and are loyal, kind, informed, and so fun! Welcome! Man of Constant Sorrow is a quite typical "first song" to listen to. Have fun reading comments and choosing the next song of theirs to react to - but please stay away from their cover of "Mayday" until you get more familiar with Tim, Austin, Chance, Rob and Adam, their ranges, typical parts they sing, and generally the types of songs Home Free covers and produces. It's so awesome to have new reaction channels discover Home Free, and start this journey. You won't ever be disappointed with the quality music these men produce. Ciao!!
It's fun to see new reactions to Home Free and this is the one to start the journey Home Free has over 1.5 million followers just on TH-cam not to mention other platforms I think y'all will enjoy the ride. Welcome
Oh the rabbit hole Home Free and Voiceplay will give you...enjoy! Don't sleep on their Christmas music, Home Free's, Do you hear what I hear, is AMAZING!
Home Free is the best--period. It's easy to forget they are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves. In this song they are making a distinct southern (country blues) presentation--it definitely fits the lyrics of the song. Chance doing the jaw harp sound really sets the stage for this song's story, which Austin's twang fits phenomenally. Tim's bass line completely grounds the harmonies and Adam's voice percussion simply cannot be beat. This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle ANY other genre just as amazingly❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ Hope you'll consider checking out their Christmas videos like "Full of Joy", "Snow Globe", "Do You Hear What I Hear?", "Mary, Did You Know", "What Christmas Means to Me", and so many others! Some of my favorites of their regular videos are "Working for a Living", "Good 'Ol Country Harmony", "Land of the Free", "Elvira" (with the Oak Ridge Boys), "Undivided", "Ain't Goin' Down 'Til the Sun Comes Up" (which is not on YT--it's on their official Facebook page), "Listen to the Music", "What's Left of My Heart", and "Understand" 😍!
Home Free does all genres of music and recently Austin and Rob did Opera - a cover of Nessun Dorma. But since it is the Christmas Season their cover of Do you Hear What I hear is just amazing!!!
The guy starting off (Austin Brown) is actually a tenor 1 and the guy with the glasses (Rob Lundquist) is tenor 2, the beatboxer (Adam Rupp) is a founding member of Home Free, and was voted twice by his peers as world champion beatboxer, The jaw harp guy is Adam Chance (goes by Chance), and the bass (Tim Foust) is a basso profundo with a 5+ octave range. They sing many genres. They won The Sing-Off in 2013 as an all vocal country band. Enjoy the ride👍🔥
The guy singing most of the leads in this song was Austin Brown. He is their highest tenor, but Rob Lundquist, with the big beard, is also a pretty high tenor. They mostly have a different tone quality so their voices work better for different parts. The guy with no lead (besides Adam Rupp the beatboxer) was Adam Chance, known as Chance, who is the baritone. But he can also do bass and has a pretty good low tenor range also. He takes the first lead in American Pie and Sea Shanty Medley (Arrrrrr!). Don Mclean requested them specifically for the 50th anniversary recording of American Pie.
Great reaction ladies, welcome to the home fry family. This group will leave you with a smile every time. They are such a feelgood band and love their fans. Serious songs or just their wacky sense of humour will have you grinning from ear to ear. Scottish Home fry here. 👍🏴
They can do ANYTHING! They have done R&B, classic rock, pop, Christmas songs, religious, etc. you will find it in their videos, however, they claim to be the "world's first acapella country band" and 3 of the 5 members are originally from the southern states (Georgia, Alabama and Texas) and have that country swag and twang to their voices They are based in Nashville now, however, they started out in Minnesota and 2 of the members still live there. The beatboxer is doing the harmonica, cricket, and drums is Adam, The didgeridoo sound was the other guy in the back beside the beatboxer his name is Chance, and he's their baritone, but can also do bass, The super low bass is Tim (but he can also sing high also because he has a rare 5-octave range), The two lead tenors in front is Rob with the glasses (lower tenor), and Austin the thinner guy with hat.(high tenor). They are well known for their harmonies. Whew! I'm done, hope this helps initially introduce you to them. Please react more to them!
While Pentatonix won the 3rd season of the Sing-Off TV show, Home Free won the 4th season. Avi Kaplan, the original bass for Pentatonix, collaborated with Home Free on a video of Ring of Fire - highly recommended! Adam Rupp (the beatboxer) was making the "nomonica" imitation (it's so good!), Adam Chance (the baritone) was the one making the digeridoo/mouth harp sound throughout the song. While everyone admires Tim Foust (the bass) when he sings his verse from the basement, immediately after he finishes his verse he drops his vocals into the sub-basement just to give you a hint of how low he can go.
Love these guys! An other Acapella band is Pentatonix who have earned Grammy Awards for their music. These new Acapella bands are a rabbit hole I think y'all are going to enjoy!
The twanging sound is done by Chance and is a Jew's Harp or Jaw Harp. The beatboxing and harmonica are Adam Rupp. One of the latest videos by Austin and Rob, the two tenors, is Two Country Singers Try to Sing Opera, "Nessun Dorma." Must watch video to help you understand their true range, they can sing anything. For something just for fun, try "Butts Remix."
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole 🕳. They're amazing. They do all genres from country to R&B , 70s , opera. Their Christmas songs are the Bomb, O'Holy Night, Silent Night, Mary Did You Know just a few suggestions. Can't wait to hear more reactions from you both great job

American Pie would be a great 2nd reaction video, but they also have some awesome Christmas videos too. With American Pie you'll get to hear them all (except the beatboxer) share the lead....and yes Don McLean sings with them on the 50th anniversary of his classic & iconic song.
Hi Kevin, thank you for the recommendations. We’re excited to discover more! 😊
Headphones ALWAYS!!!!
Because it's Christmas time you two should react to Do You Hear What I Hear by Home Free. It will blow you away.
Thanks for the reaction. Best wishes.
Keep in mind Tim Foust (bass) hits an octave lower after his solo, just freakin' remarkable! He actually has an incredible 5 octave range, crazy good!!!
Saw them as an act on a cruise ship several years ago. Amazing
You did it now. Welcome to the Home Free black hole. You’ll never escape
You should hear the sing "How Great Thou Art" and "O Holy Night".... just incredible stuff. I think you must have had an eargasm.
Home Free - American Pie ft. Don McLean (Official Music Video) 😍
Hi Arno, We will definitely check that song out. We’re excited to discover more from Home Free! 😃
@@generationgapreacts thx
You are on a journey now, oh boy. I recommend their rendition of How Great Thou Art. The most moving version I’ve ever heard.
It’s Ear-Candy. Enough leads to Ear-gasm…😊
You started with a great one. More Home Free please.
Welcome to the rabbit hole! Home Free is awesome and never disappoints! #homefries
Christmas/hymn - Do you hear what I hear, Cold Hard Cash for Christmas, Amazing Grace, How great thou art (many others)
Others - In The Blood, Some Girls Do, Hillbilly Bone, End of The Road
Quite a few originals as well -
Thank you MN! We are definitely going to check out more of their songs, especially Christmas since it’s right around the corner. 😊
Ohhh yes, They also did a rendition to Patsy Cline’s Crazy 😊 that is such a beautiful song…
The bass singer is Tim Foust and that isn"t even low for him. You should listen to Home Free sing Ring of fire with Avi Caplin from Pentatonix as a guest singer. This truely will blow your mind. Love both of your comments and look forward to more of your reaction videos.
These guys are the greatest a cappella band out there. You can’t go wrong with any video of theirs. They all take turns singing lead.
I love watching jaws drop when they hear Home Free for the first time
You have entered a musical universe where wonder, hilarity and delight await around every corner. Welcome aboard, fasten your seatbelts, and prepare for sensory overload in several dimensions. Great reaction!
Adam Rupp is their beat-boxer. To hear his invisible digeridoo listen to his solo performance here on TH-cam. Amazing talent.
Pentatonix, Home Free, and Voiceplay; the trifecta of acapella groups :)
Great job ladies!!! Add to your list "When a man loves a woman"...Percy Sledge cover.
Glad to hear two generations reacting to this song together, especially Generation Gap Reacts.
Thank you Willie! Loved this song and looking forward to more! 😃
"When A Man Loves A Woman" would be a good one for your next listen which is a cover of a Percy Sledge song and a Patsy Cline hit "Crazy".
I’ve only known of Home Free since February, this is a trip I don’t ever want to end. They are incredible!
The first time I watched the movie I thought it was just WIERD - but I love it now, especially when they sing this song throughout the movie…
The movie floats around in weirdness for sure. It’s a hillbillified [I can say that cuz I are one] version of Homer’s “Odyssey”.
Love their versions of classic songs from the past. They are the premiere Acapella group going today.
Hi Stephen, we definitely agree with you. 😃
Another really good accpella group is Pentatonix.
Their songs sound very beautiful
There are so many good songs they have done. It's hard to pick. I always love the "Butt Remix".
Hi Delia, we are definitely very excited to hear more from them! 😃
Even better "ear pleasure" with headphones
Highly recommend you check out their version of "when a man loves a woman" and their sea shanties melody
Nice reaction girls . I have a Christmas classic I think you will love by Home Free. Oh holy night . It really shows off their harmonies.
With a Home Free reaction I am there every time and got tickets for the Mar. 1st show in Ft. Smith
Hi Rick, you’re so lucky! Enjoy!!! 😊
@@generationgapreacts Ty been waiting a long time for them to even be close
Ciao!!
Ya'll just opened a large rabbit hole! I recommend " RING of FIRE " next and " AMERICAN PIE ". Enjoy!!!!
To hear Austin the lead tenor really show his unreal voice try
'When A Man Loves A Woman'! Welcome to the rabbit hole from us Home Fries!
The throat singing was done by Chance. The beatboxing was done by Adam.
This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle ANY other genre just as amazingly❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Hope you'll consider checking out their Christmas videos like "Full of Joy", "Snow Globe", "Do You Hear What I Hear?", "Mary, Did You Know", "What Christmas Means to Me", and so many others!
One of the guys does all the musical sound effects, you'll glimpse him every so often; especially when he does that warbling sound.
They cover different genres
Best Acapella group out there.
"When a man loves a woman" is a must.... by Home Free...
Home Free is a rabbit hole you need to go down. They do it all. Country, Rock, Soul, Opera, Comedic .... The list goes on and on.
Tim Foust is the Bass sing who has a 5 octave range ! They won the Sing-Off in 2012 !
Love these guys! An other Acapella band is Pentatonix who have earned Grammy Awards for their music. These new Acapella bands are a rabbit hole I think y'all are going to enjoy!
Home Free is so full of talented artists in their own right. I my opinion, this isn't even their BEST performance! So many to enjoy...
WELCOME! New (and pretty) HOME FRIES always welcome. Enjoy! Duke
I certainly hope you react to many other Home Free performances! If you do, you're in for a real treat!
