I had the same problem. You need to open disk utility and format the USB drives "root" volume. My default, you may not see it listed but you should see an option to see all volumes which then will show the root drive.

thanks for a great video, but i have seen alot of posts where people including myself can not update gen 1 audio only systems. In my own research i found that SE trim models don't have Bluelink capabilities and therefore will not accept the update that improves connectivity to Bluelink server. Any thoughts on this?

My Tucson 2020 doesn't support GPS Navigation, I downloaded the files through the app, copied them to the USB drive, BUT when I press on update, the prompt says: insert the memory that Contains the update file and try again.! Any advice please! Thanks in advance

I am not sure either why some model years are not listed. The 2021 Tucson isn't the only one missing from the list. I just tried to do a Display Audio update myself and it would not read the drive for some reason.
doesn't work. tried 2 different USB drives I formatted both to FAT32 and input the file like you described. when i plug it into my 2019 Hyundai Tucson it reads the usb then says "no audio media found" then when i go to settings and hit the update button it states i need to plug in the usb with the update on it which i have multiple times and it still wont update.
I too am getting the exact same error when trying to do the update for my 2021 Santa Fe. I called Hyundai and they said a dealer near me should be able to do it for me- I called the dealer and they said they can do it for a $165 charge 🤯

The Display Audio Software download is currently being updated. Hopefully it will return here in the next few days or weeks. I would not use the navigation based update as the systems are different. Keep an eye out on the Hyundai website for the release of the latest Display Audio updates.
Almost every Hyundai model doesn't have built in nav in the lower trims. The only model I can think of that has Navigation standard across the board are the EV's (Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6).
Do you have navigation? If so, you should find it using the updater tool. If you only have display audio and it is not listed under the Gen 1 list, there is no update available.
I have a 2012 Sonata Limited with Nav. I am unable to find the download for the Display Audio Software Update but am ordering the "2012 Hyundai Sonata Map Update 161U03". Do you know if the update I'm ordering has any display audio software updates as part of it? Thank you for your time.
If you have nav, you will want to update using the Nav software. They do not have display audio updates for vehicles of that generation. The Nav updates do have other updates inside them as well but for the older systems, you won't see much change like the new ones.

If your SD card is 32GB, you might need to format the root directory; you can do that in Windows by running Disk Management or in Mac using Disk Utility.

Do you have built in navigation or no? If not, the Display Audio updates will be available again within the next few weeks (hopefully). They are updating the files so keep an eye on the website for when they become available again.
Just got myself a certified pre owned 2019 elantra SE, I follow these instructions and the infotainment system says "No supported files found", i've called hyundai and keep getting run around in circles between their different departments. All I want is to be able to have carplay :(
This update will not add or change how Carplay works. Your vehicle should have wired Carplay from the factory as long as it has the 7" or 8" screen. (SEL and higher)

You need to format your USB to the correct format, then download the files to the drive, and install them inside the vehicle. You can't have any other files on it.
The display audio updates are designed for headunits without navigation. If you have navigation then you should use the navigation updater tool and those updates.
It depends on your vehicle. Android Auto/Apple Carplay was only added via an update on select 2015-2016 Hyundai vehicles. If it doesn't come with it standard after this, it will not be enabled via an update. www.hyundainews.com/en-us/releases/2197

Hi i have an issue with mine in that i have used the hyundai navigation updater that i installed on my computer and downloaded the update to my usb stick and it says that the file should be unzipped but when i take the stick to my car it still asking for the device with the update info on it? Not sure if the info was unzipped either but there is a zip file on the usb drive that cant be accessed with a password. I own a 2017 hyundai elentra
Yes once you unzip the first one, you should leave the second one alone. It prompted me for the password on one vehicle and I left it alone, copied it over to the USB, and it worked fine. If the car is still asking for the USB with update on it, then I would assume either the USB isn't formatted correctly or the files didn't make it onto the drive properly.
@@CarsMadeSimple I tried to update my hyundai tucson 2019 with the usb and it started to prepare the update then it finished. After that it was apply to the setup 1 of 4. When the bar finished for 1 it started to load and it said update unsuccessful. Ive tried putting the DAUDIO file back on the usb and trying it again but its the same outcome.

Really a novice question but after I download the software from the web site for my 2018 Santa Fe how do I get the listing of files so that I only copy the correct zip file to my USB token? When I copied the whole folder the car computer tells me no media files found! I tried two dealers for help and they have no clue!
Typically when you open the downloaded folder, a program on your computer will unzip them. Once this is done, these are the files you will want to copy to the USB. I tried to do one update a couple weeks ago and the car would not find the files and I have seen others saying they are having issues too. I am not sure if the process changed or what but I will have to try again to see if I can verify the update does work properly after Hyundai updated the files.
@@CarsMadeSimple This is getting even more confusion. When I called bluelink to ask if I need to unzip the files before I copy to my usb token she said no! Perhaps that is why the car computer thinks there are no media files?
@@CarsMadeSimple I got on the phone with bluelink again and she walked me through ordering a usb device with the software on it. $43 including shipping but if it finally works it is worth it! If this doesn’t work I will just cancel bluelink and consider buying a different car!
@@shulerfamily2498 Hopefully they understood that you were trying to update the display audio and not the navigation (maps) update. I have never seen Hyundai offer the display audio updates via mail like the navigation updates.
So I have an Elantra 2020, with Daudio v108 in Canada - newest one in the US being v115 - unfortunately Canada has no link for Gen1 updates. Hoping someone has the file before I attempt to force update to US v115
Yes the GPS and Modem would be for the Bluelink functionality. I am not sure when/if Canada will release updates for the Elantra however I would reach out to Hyundai before proceeding to ensure it will not damaged your headunit.
@@CarsMadeSimple lol my car also doesnt have Bluelink... I still dont understand what the difference is between the Nav units and Daudio units... My cluster unit even says to "insert an SD Card for navigation"... But no SD card slot exists lol...
Do you have built in navigation? If the year is not listed, it likely means one is not available as it is too new. If you have navigation, I could see an update coming out this fall when the next version are released.
Hyundai has since released new Display Audio updates so I cannot confirm exactly but Hyundai claims these improve Bluelink functionality and it will change the UI just slightly.

They requested 2 weeks to reply back. I mentioned about USA audio only update to hyundai and waiting now.

Hyundai may have changed the procedure to update the system. Others have been having the same issue.

Hyundai just released new display audio updates a couple days ago. I have not tried it yet but will do so in an upcoming video.

I’m getting unsupported files when I plug in my flash drive ( tried 2). I confirmed I downloaded the 2022 Santa Fe files.
I got the same error when I tried one of these recently. I am not sure what the exact issue is.

Something changed from when I made these videos. If you cannot get it to work like shown, it may require doing something different.
I have veloster 2019 but my system is Middle East and i couldn’t find any updates on the website, can i use the usa list of update instead ?
I would recommend against using another regions update just in case it is not compatible.

You cannot add navigation if it did not come with it from the factory.

Is it 32gb? I think I've read that the SD card slot only recognizes 32gb cards.

You can use a variety of sizes but generally 32 or 64GB will work. These files are small compared to the navigation update.

Others have experienced similar errors. I would make sure everything is formatted correctly and if it still doesn't work, use a different USB drive.

If the car is still asking for the USB with update on it, then I would assume either the USB isn't formatted correctly or the files didn't make it onto the drive properly.
@@CarsMadeSimple I tried to update my hyundai tucson 2019 with the usb and it started to prepare the update then it finished. After that it was apply to the setup 1 of 4. When the bar finished for 1 it started to load and it said update unsuccessful. Ive tried putting the DAUDIO file back on the usb and trying it again but its the same outcome.
@@Devil_Kawaii I would try another USB drive if you have one available. If that doesn't work, then you may be able to reach out to your dealer for more information.
@@CarsMadeSimple ok ill try that. Ill let you know how it goes. I also called my dealer and they said that they dont do update on the car so they arent sure if they can fix it. But ill try a new usb first

Really a novice question but after I download the software from the web site for my 2018 Santa Fe how do I get the listing of files so that I only copy the correct zip file to my USB token? When I copied the whole folder the car computer tells me no media files found! I tried two dealers for help and they have no clue!
Typically when you open the downloaded folder, a program on your computer will unzip them. Once this is done, these are the files you will want to copy to the USB. I tried to do one update a couple weeks ago and the car would not find the files and I have seen others saying they are having issues too. I am not sure if the process changed or what but I will have to try again to see if I can verify the update does work properly after Hyundai updated the files.
@@CarsMadeSimple This is getting even more confusion. When I called bluelink to ask if I need to unzip the files before I copy to my usb token she said no! Perhaps that is why the car computer thinks there are no media files?
@@shulerfamily2498 You can attempt just copying the files over and if it reads the files properly, it should proceed with the update.
@@CarsMadeSimple I got on the phone with bluelink again and she walked me through ordering a usb device with the software on it. $43 including shipping but if it finally works it is worth it! If this doesn’t work I will just cancel bluelink and consider buying a different car!
@@shulerfamily2498 Hopefully they understood that you were trying to update the display audio and not the navigation (maps) update. I have never seen Hyundai offer the display audio updates via mail like the navigation updates.
So I have an Elantra 2020, with Daudio v108 in Canada - newest one in the US being v115 - unfortunately Canada has no link for Gen1 updates. Hoping someone has the file before I attempt to force update to US v115

Yes the GPS and Modem would be for the Bluelink functionality. I am not sure when/if Canada will release updates for the Elantra however I would reach out to Hyundai before proceeding to ensure it will not damaged your headunit.
@@CarsMadeSimple lol my car also doesnt have Bluelink... I still dont understand what the difference is between the Nav units and Daudio units... My cluster unit even says to "insert an SD Card for navigation"... But no SD card slot exists lol...

My car is ioniq hybrid 2022. It only listed 2020 in your video from list of compatibility, so I shouldn't update mine?
Do you have built in navigation? If the year is not listed, it likely means one is not available as it is too new. If you have navigation, I could see an update coming out this fall when the next version are released.

Hyundai has since released new Display Audio updates so I cannot confirm exactly but Hyundai claims these improve Bluelink functionality and it will change the UI just slightly.
Is this update applicable for europe as well?
Europe has their own update website I do believe.
@@CarsMadeSimple Yes ofcourse they have europe website, but this europe website does not show any update for audio system, they have only update for navigation units. I am just wondering whether I can apply this USA update to europe Tucson or not :) I can download file that you shown and have a try but I am not so brave :)
I got in touch with hyundai europe support and waiting for their support. They requested 2 weeks to reply back. I mentioned about USA audio only update to hyundai and waiting now.
I would not recommend the update for overseas.

Tried four different USB drives, all formatted to FAT32. Never worked. Doesn't recognize the files. Not your fault... Hyundai is just an atrociously, infuriatingly awful company with absolutely abysmal quality control.
I just performed the update a few days ago with the newest files and it worked great.
