I’d sure like to know a little more about the terminals jumped, on the red harness connector. I couldn’t quite see, in the video, which terminals were jumped together. I could see the two crimped wire connectors, but were they connected vertically, or horizontally?
the jumpers in the molex are wire crimp connectors that fit perfectly. this essentially "hot-wires" the ignition,bypassing the key switch. a simple way to take the key out of the troubleshooting circle.
Is this a 2000? can you by chance reply with the link? i am having the same exact problem with mine. i was going to order a new solenoid, electric start and voltage regulator but it looks like i will need a new stator. how much do they cost
that would be great, how much would shipping cost. also what are those things you plugged into the wires at 4:30? i tried this with random pieces of metal and i got a tiny it more spark but nowhere near enough to start it.
+redkevlar the red plug connections that you showed in the video, did you replace the red plastic plugs or add some dielectric grease to get a better connection?
No, the Molex connectors were fine. With a VOM meter you should be able to test all your connections. The shop manual has a nice troubleshooting guide (which is not typical) that I followed. It eventually led me to the bad switch
yeah, we tried that. were not having much problems with it anymore because we hooked up another ignition switch. but were still having problems with the sparking. were just trying to find the wires and stuff. i'm not sure if my bike has a side stand switch though. ill look tomorrow.
@@ridingwith_bren6762 I'm getting one spark on my my 03 as well.... I jumped the wires as well still only one spark . All new parts but the pickup..... any luck getting it to spark?

Would your bike run before you replaced the stator?
i have a ttr 125 Le and i need help because im not sure why mine isnt getting any spark at all

Make sure your key switch is working properly. If it is not wired correctly you will not get spark
i mean it sparks but only like in this video, it will spark and then stop but it still sounds like it wants to turn over

@redkevlar I am having a similar issue on my 2002 TTR225. What did you do to get a better connection.. replace the connectors?

what's the part number of the new ignition switch you bought? I just bought this same bike and it didn't come with a key.
I bought on eBay. Generic key mechanism.
Which wires did you short out I know the switch but on the one going to the stater and all that
same probem with mine I got an 03 and sparks once, then nothing.

no, infact we my dad and I tried using jumper wires but that didn't work. still only sparks once. any clue on this?
Did you short both of the contacts in the molex ? In the video you can see 2 spade lugs, clipped and jammed in the plug to complete the curcuit.
