  • Hi everyone! I hope you all enjoy this video of my new Mercury 15 HP Tiller! This motor is the best! It is a super reliable motor that is practically guaranteed to get you to where you want to go and fast! This 15 HP Mercury is one of the best Tillers on the market and all I can say about it is good things. Mercury has really built a good name for themselves here and it is very impressive. If you are looking for a new motor to add to the back of your boat, this is definitely a motor you need to look at!
    I hope you all enjoyed the video!

    Man, I just got a new 2022 Mercury 15 hp EFI, it takes 4 or more pull's to start hot or cold, the fuel hose that comes with it has a kink in it, will not come out so I just ordered a good quality fuel hose assembly with bulb, I'll see if that helps !

    • @InlineOutdoors
      @InlineOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would tell the place you got it from and maybe they can look at it for you. If it takes more than 2 pulls, 3 at the most there could be something wrong with it. Sometimes mine starts a little hard when it’s extremely cold. Good Luck!

    • @markcollins5026
      @markcollins5026 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@InlineOutdoors man, it runs fine once started, the fuel hose was folded in half and the kink won't come out, so that and that big emissions valve they have in the fuel line is not helping, I haven't had the motor at the lake yet so not broke in, I'll see if the new good quality hose assembly with no big valve on it helps, maybe I'm just weak !

    I just ordered that exact motor yesterday, for the same reason: just didn't feel comfortable with the clunky old motor we had been using. $800 repair bill on a 25-year-old engine seemed like a poor investment.

    Hey buddy I have an idea older 18’ flat bottom boat that a guy baught brand new back in the 70s and used it a couple times and then put it in a shed and never used it again!! I got it from a buddy of mine witch he had put a big 110hp motor on it but never got time to try it out!! When I got it I took the 110hp off and got a Johnson 35hp and used it for a couple years but have been having issues with it ever since!!! It starts but when putting it in forward mode and gassing it up it wants to die and I have not been able to figure it out!! I’ve been thinking of getting a new motor one that is much more reliable!!! I was also able to build a steering council so I don’t have to use a tiller handle!!! The Johnson 35hp came with a tiller handle but I could take the tiller handle off and set it up for a steering council set up so that was what I did!! I would like to no your thoughts on what size motor would be best for my 18’ wide body flat bottom boat?? It is an older boat so it is built pretty tough and not like today’s flimsy metal is!! But it is pretty light in weight!! I also have a 24v trolling motor on it that is like 65lbs or 85lbs thrust and it works great all day long trolling around the lake and using the spot lock on it!!! Well thanks in advance for any help buddy!! Oh I also live in southern Iowa Osceola Iowa!! Thought you might no were that is at?? Well buddy remember keep up all the hard work buddy!!!!

    • @InlineOutdoors
      @InlineOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would highly recommend getting a new motor! While yes they are a bit of an investment, they are so much more reliable than the old stuff out there. As far as size goes for your 18 foot boat, I would say that a 20-25 HP motor (should) be enough to get your boat on plane. With that being said, if your want to go fast I would say maybe go up to a 30 or 35. Does the 35 Johnson feel like enough power when it does work? It sounds to me like you’re not getting enough gas through your gas line. Have you tried new gas line and ball? Sometimes when that stuff gets old those ball pumps tend to crack and not work. Just a thought, but maybe you’ve tried that already! Also, I know exactly where Osceola is, I work in the Des Moines area and sometime go down that direction for work!

    Does your motor have a rattle sound when running? Tiny boat nation has mentioned that the 15 and 20 hp Mercs have a weird rattle sound. He said that it's completely normal and most of them do it. I'm looking to buy a 20hp merc in the next couple of weeks. I was just wondering if your motor made that sound? Thanks

    • @InlineOutdoors
      @InlineOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t recall ever hearing a rattle sound and I’ve ran this motor a few times now, I could be wrong but I think I would have been alarmed if I heard a rattle out of a brand new motor. Do you know what causes it?
