In this video we change out the stock 9.9hp carburetor for an upgraded 15hp. Here is the link to the website I purchased the carburetor from... www.readysetbo...
Just swapped out a new 15hp conversion carburetor from ready set boat. It went on perfectly and performed great! Hit 22 mph on my 14' tracker. Very pleased with this conversion. Thanks for the video good times great company.
For the throttle adjustment, what I did was (with the engine off) turn the tiller handle to max full throttle with the adjustment screw loose. Then manually throw the throttle arm on the carb to max throttle, then tighten down the screw. Now max turn on the handle is max throttle on the carb. Seemed to work.
I put this carb on my 2022 9.9 and a west marine rib 310. It went frkm doing 23mph to 29mph and im on the limiter lol i wish they made a bigger prop, ive got a 8.9x9.5 on it and its not enough prop. Great product..
Have you had any reliability issues with this upgrade? Im considering upgrading tje carb on my 2021 9.9 Mercury, but i really don't want to be stranded in the middle of the river with a dead motor.
@TheHumphrey367 yes, but only because I started tinkering with the throttle and tiller cabling position. As far as it being able to perform from just swapping it out I've no issues.
@@goodtimesgreatcompany Not good... They are there for a reason... You run the motor with the cowling on, you run it with the kill cord... You can use the kill cord with the cowling off... There is simply no excuse to run without it... Period... FAIL!!!...

You can get it for 175 at small town boat. 25 bucks for a 1 year additional warranty. They have great reviews. I ordered one. Says they're pre tuned too.
@qapsukalek wouldn't work with my model motor, guy wouldn't refund my money. Took it to boat service center, said wouldn't work. Wasted 550 bucks. It may work on some years, but dont trust small town boats. They list it as being able to work.
Good video. I just bought a 9.9 and was considering doing this conversion. I am going to do it now for sure. Thank you for posting it.

@@yeyopedroza6594 glad we were able to help. Stay safe and tight lines.
Do you know what your previous top speed was? Thanks!
@@christiansanchez8959 I was hitting 17mph with me and my 6 yr old, full tank.
Thanks for going over the throttle stuff at the end! Saved me tons of time when installing my carb.
yeah, bro. That part really threw me for a loop until i realized what the problem is.
@@goodtimesgreatcompanydid u do anything else to it

that sounds like a good way to get the timing down.

I'm glad that worked out for you, and you go it dialed in. Enjoy!

Damn right, brother.
I just ordered this carb hope its legit
Me too lol
Dont think its works...if it has the same carb throat diameter....how can get more air&fuel??
how much speed were you getting on the upgraded carb? Can you use a smartphone gps speedometer or maybe your fishfinder up front of the boat?
Are you still happy with this carburetor now that you've had it some time?
Very.
It makes an obvious difference. Although, now that I got some speed added to to it now I want to upgrade to a 20hp, lol.

Did you change the size of the prop
i did not, definitely considering it.
Gain power and speed ?
What year is your Merc?
I can’t see the link where you got the carburetor from. What did you do with the breathing hose that goes on top of the carburetor. ?
I'll post it in the description. The hose can be left hanging there, or you can tuck it into the shaft.
Hey its been awhile so how is the outboard running now any problem Do an update video
@@keithperks3000 your timing is perfect. I've finally got to recalibrate the throttle, I'll have a video up this weekend.

Did ur engine had a primer bulb
No. Only a choke.

I think you would have to get the right part. When I ordered mine it was year specific.

a very noticeable difference!

No, the throttle wasn't set right.
