Zero judgement- but 10lb mono for finesse fishing is pretty heavy imo- I’d bump down to 6 or 8 if you need it. Otherwise braid is simply the better choice in most spinning reels nowadays

Dont waste the extra $10 on the combo. The reel is trash. Instead, mount you a Penn Fierce 3 and have a damn good setup for about $100.

Me & my 6 boys have a pair of them that we wear all year around even in the winter time in 32° Degrees Temperatures . I done had my Arizona's bottom replace like 3/4 time all ready because I take care of them & i don't need to buy a new pair & start the break in all over again . They’re about $50 at academy. IMO it’s completely worth it for the rod. The reel is not great though. I’d maybe throw it in a backpack as a backup reel in case something happened to one of my setups

PFlueger sizes are as follows. 20 = 500 25 = 1000 30 = 2000 35 = 3000 40 = 4000

Lews is my favorite. That is not a “more expensive reel” though. That’s pretty cheap for a Lews. I bought one for my son. It’s a decent rod. But try higher end Lews reels. You’ll love them. I run a BB1 Pro with an 8.0:1 gear ratio. It’s smooth and fast. Can’t beat it for the price.

I just bought the 5’6 pflueger president 25 combo, and with 15 # braid to floro leader and 1/16 jig, I can’t get this thing out much further than 20 ft or so. This is my first rod shorter than 6’6, maybe that’s the difference. Anyways, thanks!

They are made plastic and cheap now. The old president was better

The whole idea of paying a resort to access a public body of water is such a Minnesota thing to do. That doesn't exist in Wisconsin. Leech is an awesome lake for sure. One of my favorites......always through a public landing.
