Artwork: Paying the Harvesters by Leon Augustin Lhermitte, 1882
Vivaldi is world-famous yet still underrated.
You could've not been more correct
Problem is many know him for only his 4 seasons but not the hundreds of other concertos and sacred works he made
He is eight hundred pound gorila in baroque music!
i love how the comment section in classical music videos is always full of history and new informations and knowladges it really helps alot , what a safe community
sorry if i made mistakes while writing
Yes, it's very safe.
That's the power of music, as also the myth of Orpheus said, check it out, a great story
You know nothing, lmao
Oui Oui Oui! The internet isn't all bad!
The painting is called "The Pay of the Harvesters" by Léon Agustin "Le hermitte" 1882
Merci.
Thank you very much !!!!!!
Thank you, but it is totally out of place here.
Realism at its best.
HUMBERTO BUCHELI GARCIA Thank you very much! Thats one more piece of culture to remeber whenever we visit this piece
I have to give some major musical love and respect to Fabio Biondi and Europa Galante for performing a huge amount of little known or forgotten Vivaldi compositions. Using the Baroque period instruments to make it sound as close a possible to Vivaldi's originals. Bravisimo!

Did the uploader just make a very subtle joke of the painting of this video because RV 390 is a well-known tractor used for agricultural harvesting, lmao
Wow, good catch !
Wow. Waiting for the uploader's reply. :D

Antonio Vivaldi is definitely my favorite Baroque composer.
not only baroque...
@@mariopolito1318 I agree.
Didn't you mean to say "Baroque & Roll Composer"?
@@BryanGC Yes, Vivaldi is a Baroque and Roll Composer!
I don't know what era this is from. I just know that I like it.
1:30 THIS PART IS SO BEAUTIFUL
When you're tired of songs, you crave for music like this.
Vivaldi is a master with no peer. He has been accused of using the same forms of progression over again but this does not matter to me. His music always delights me and always touches my soul
All composers repeat their works. Just look at Bach's Prelude (Well-Tempered Clavier) no.1 in C major and the Bach Cello Suite. You can practically play them over each other (the beginning at least).
In my point of view, I think that's way musicians can do a music identity.
Those who criticize people that found a structure, applied it, and made masterpieces with them, are rarely if ever themselves able to do the same.
Do not take the words of crude critics and inferiors seriously. Strife for masters - and if you ever manage to achieve anything greater, then you -may- be able to speak to why your work does something in a more successful way than previous work has.
But why would you? If you are at the pinnacle of creative talent, there is no reason at all to insult those whose work inspired you down that path to begin with, at that point there would only be gratitude, and the wish that others may hear your work, get inspired by it, and attempt to reach even higher.
The culture of critique is nothing but destructive. Be always critical of your own work: Yet always look for unpolished gems in the work of others. Do not spend time taking the opinions of unaccomplished critics seriously.
yes he re uses a lot. but he creates endless amazing music with these tricks regardless.
@@leonhardeuler6811 also the famous theme from the 4th movement of Beethoven's 9th Symphony is recycled from a theme created by him in his earlier years.
I feel Vivaldi was too much advanced for his era...
His music is full of feelings and passion so powerful and rich......we may simply enjoy such a masterpiece...👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I forgive the youtube algorithm for bringing silly content to me all this time. This one was perfect.
Antonio Vivaldi is my favorite composer. Period.
Music is a reflection of your environment. This and thousands of other classical compositions reflect another time and place when the environment was provincial, puritan, benevolent, simple, intelligent, wise, stoic, etc. Beauty.

I heard a String quartet perform Vivaldi's work in a Church in Venice absolutely magical
A mi me gusta mucho la musisa barocco.
G Great andrea fantastic WONDERFUL beatiful excellent
Reporter: Your first chair violinist is on FIRE!!! 2:15
Vivaldi: dam, this must be pretty good, release it.
00:01-12:35 is the best part!
Several years ago I listened to this marvelous group in the Shriver Hall auditorium at John's Hopkins U in Baltimore, MD.
Their performance was beyond awesome; it was literally STRATOSPHERIC! The audience gave the orchestra an applause that lasted for a full two minutes, followed by a second for another three minutes!
To show his appreciation, Mr. Biondi performed some of the summer concerto by Vivaldi that was NOT a part of the evening's performance.
For me, the highlight of the evening was Fabio autographing my program guide!
2:15 is such an unique passage i love this feeling as if there was a drum giving the rythm.
it actually very common in Vivaldi's works.

%1000 CLASSIC HEAVY METAL...
This dude was so good even Bach recreated some of his work to organ and harpsichord
He did? For real? Nice!
@@ashleysvoboda8331 Yeah. Check out BWV 593. Arrangements like these are nice because you can hear all the voices in a whole new light
@@ashleysvoboda8331 Antonio Artese said to Scott Yoo that Bach expressed repeatedly his huge appreciation to Vivaldi’s work, which he studied extensively. So, in that respect, it is very safe to admit that when we say that Bach is the father of classical music, Vivaldi must have been its grandfather.
@@ashleysvoboda8331 don't forget about BWV 1065 (transcription of Vivaldi's RV 580)

4:47 the peak of this great piece
i can't count how many times i have listened to it.
The double-stop during 4:21-4:36 sounds crying like a man, but much more moving. Appreciate for sharing the masterpiece which will be never forgotton only contact once. Also, Fabio Biondi, a great violinist.
Vivaldi, the maximum representative
of the splendor of human harmony
Those violins are take away me from this virtual reality and fly above the another places.specially between at 6:00-6:20
That is Vivaldi's divine magic. He has created similar beauties in his other compositions that make us high.
I can't explain what i feel when i listen to this part 2:15 - 2:30, but is sooo goood. I think i could say that i feel grateful for being able to listen this

Fuck cuatro estaciones, all my homies hear La Stravaganza.

Porque es en vivo
Vivaldi's music is the lullaby of mankind , and the cradle of soul
Vivaldi's music is as expensive wine as fragrant perfume, gourmet music and aesthetes... 🙏
You can find so many great musicians on the TH-cam that you don't know their names before may be never just to realize that most of them have been working on the instrument sine their children years some of them even for generations. Great respect for these musians and their families!
WHY IS THE VIOLIN SO BUCKING BEAUTIFUL
vivaldi you will be always my crush in classical music 💘🎶

The music is so impressive and the painting is meaningfull. I wish I would know about this painting or what the relation between the painting and the music is.
Hello, the name of the painting is: "La Paye des moissonneurs", which means: "The Harvester's Pay", in French. I couldn't find more information about the painting. I hope this is helpful!
@Windemes * Someone in the comments mentioned that RV 390 is also the name of a well known tractor so the uploader chose an agricultural painting to accompany the music as a little joke
