When Vivaldi died in 1741 his music was in the most complete darkness. It was the scholars of Bach in the nineteenth century who first heard of Vivaldi, thanks to the ancient manuscripts where Bach had transcribed the concerts of someone called Vivaldi. It was known who Bach was, but who was Vivaldi? Fortunately, a search was conducted, which resulted in the rescue of Vivaldi from oblivion.
As a kid I had insomnia, I'd stay up a few days at a time and when I slept it felt like I just blinked, by body ached for years, I felt older as the days turned to weeks, I took the time to research because even though video games brought me joy I felt as though time wanned on me that I should do something productive. All that time awake listening to classical music has payed off more than I can recount because I feel as though my sleepiness years were some of the most enlightening of my time. Nice interpretation. I believe Vivaldi was played in the beautiful going home death scene in Soylent Green when the old book decided his time had come.
For those who wonders, all the paintings and drawings are from Gaspard David Freidrich, a german romantic painter, not really the style, the country and the period of Vivaldi, who was an italian Baroque composer, but I still really love both !
Vivaldi is the joy of my life - when I am feeling a little down or just need to feel better, I play Vivaldi, especially this Concerto for 4 Violins, or Summer or Winter with Mari Samuelsen, and the happiness returns to me quickly.
Apparently towards the later years in his life Vivaldi went out of style, and was forgotten by many musicians until Bach found out about his music. I’m not sure how people could forget about him, considering the quality of his music.
He went out of style in the Romantic era as well with many composers of that time saying he only made one concerto hundreds of times. It's a shame since the Romantic era is still influential today so many people won't give Vivaldi a listen except for his Four Seasons.
Even Bach was forgotten, not once but twice. Just after his death, he was forgotten, then rediscovered by Mozart when one of his sons wanted to brag about how his music was better than his fathers to Mozart; then he was forgotten again when Beethoven and his sinfonic music erased Barock from memory; he was rediscovered by *** wrong Brahms **** correct *** Mendelsohn.
One thing that contributed to this sad fact might be the lack of a proper medium at that time to preserve the works of the composers other than the paper, hence, Music was easily forgotten. Nowadays we have TH-cam for example, which serves this purpose, and makes music reachable to people.
Eyup Ozturk: I believe it was Mendelssohn who brought Bach's music into popularity again. Reportedly, Mendelssohn's contemporary Hector Berlioz didn't like Bach's music because it contained too much "unnecessary note-weaving".

Antonio Lucio Vivaldi (4 March 1678 - 28 July 1741) was an Italian Baroque musical composer, virtuoso violinist, teacher, and priest. Born in Venice, the capital of the Venetian Republic, he is recognized as one of the greatest Baroque composers, and his influence during his lifetime was widespread across Europe. He composed many instrumental concertos, for the violin and a variety of other instruments, as well as sacred choral works and more than forty operas. His best-known work is a series of violin concertos known as the Four Seasons. Many of his compositions were written for the all-female music ensemble of the Ospedale della Pietà, a home for abandoned children where Vivaldi (who had been ordained as a Catholic priest) was employed from 1703 to 1715 and from 1723 to 1740. Vivaldi also had some success with expensive stagings of his operas in Venice, Mantua and Vienna. After meeting the Emperor Charles VI, Vivaldi moved to Vienna, hoping for preferment. However, the Emperor died soon after Vivaldi's arrival, and Vivaldi himself died, in poverty, less than a year later.

“Il Prete Rosso,” everyone called him behind his back, as they refer to him even now: “the Red Priest.” Sometimes he would makes us play so fast and practice so long that our fingers bled. When we held up our hands to show him, he only nodded and said, “Good. It is good to bleed for music. Girls shed blood all the time for far less noble reasons.” We would blush when he said such things. Vivaldi’s virgins.
Vivaldi is considered one of the greatest composers of all time..yet he died broke and alone. His music was largely forgotten for over 100 years after his death, until scholars and composers in the 19th century started realizing the amount of incredible work Vivaldi had put out. Why is it that so many of those that we were raised to see as greats..people who had a massive impact on humanity whether through art..music, whatever..why is it that so many of them die broke? Why do we need to “rediscover” them? Some things I will never understand, this has happened to many artists throughout history.
Just superbe - Vivaldi always makes me feel so wonderfully alive - and this energy can be felt through the musicians. It all just sparkles and breaks through the boundaries....

Some people are obviously touched by God ! This is one of those people . Not without his faults , but what music . It ravishes the soul.
This Vivaldi's masterpiece touched my late beloved mother's heartstrings , and she was impressed with and shed tears .
Inspired by this incomparable performance ,
I will dream of nostalgic my late beloved mother who deeply loved Vivaldi .
Vivaldi's melody fits the cherry blossoms in full bloom .
Mother ,
the season of blooming cherry blossoms has come again in Japan .
I remember when I was a little boy and you took me by the hand to go see the cherry blossoms in full bloom
It's a memory of a long time ago .
From Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun 🇯🇵
I am sorry for your loss friend. These memories are wonderful. I hope you keep them and cherish them for the rest of your life. To good health.

Thank-you
Which is your country ?
The season of blooming cherry blossoms has come again in Japan .
Unfortunately
banquets in famous public parks of Tokyo have been perfectly banned to prevent the spread of the Covid - 19
The Rite of Spring peculiar to Japan from 1000years ago can no longer be held
We are very lonely and unfortunate
This year too , the cherry blossoms are destined to fall lonely in front of Tokyo dwellers
Someday please visit Japan
Japanese delicious foods another heartfelt hospitality wait for you
Good luck !
@@shin-i-chikozima I am from America. My father and I greatly wish to visit Japan. He has always wanted to see your country. The ban is for the best. At least until the COVID is under control.

Thank-you so much to your wonderful comments
Currently
Japanese spring is in full swing
The whole of Japan is covered with the faint scent and the color of light pink of cherry blossoms in full bloom .
I'm managed to survive three waves of Covid - 19attacked Tokyo while listening to many masterpieces (Bruckner , Debussy , Dvorak , Mussorgsky , etc. ) and reading many literatures ( Manzoni ,Woolf , Faulkner , Balzac , etc. )
Japan waits for you
Be on the alert for Covid - 19
@@shin-i-chikozima I hope you are doing alright and you can finally enjoy the blooming cherry blossoms. You are a sensitive soul and I'm glad you can survive filling your life with beauty despite loneliness. Good luck!
Vivaldi is the only Baroque composer I like personally
“Il Prete Rosso,” everyone called him behind his back, as they refer to him even now: “the Red Priest.” Sometimes he would makes us play so fast and practice so long that our fingers bled. When we held up our hands to show him, he only nodded and said, “Good. It is good to bleed for music. Girls shed blood all the time for far less noble reasons.” We would blush when he said such things.
Vivaldi’s virgins.
th-cam.com/video/dVGbNAmqWR4/w-d-xo.html For those who love Vivaldi's music)
First movement was amazing
Vivaldi is considered one of the greatest composers of all time..yet he died broke and alone. His music was largely forgotten for over 100 years after his death, until scholars and composers in the 19th century started realizing the amount of incredible work Vivaldi had put out.
Why is it that so many of those that we were raised to see as greats..people who had a massive impact on humanity whether through art..music, whatever..why is it that so many of them die broke? Why do we need to “rediscover” them?
Some things I will never understand, this has happened to many artists throughout history.
I get goosebumps and tears in my eyes. Every. Single. Time I hear this masterpiece!
Can we talk about the images used for this musical piece?
It's a perfect match actually.
Il capolavoro supremo dell'armonia. L' armonia allo stato puro. Non poteva essere che Vivaldi! Maurizio Libori.
That was freaking epic. Love Vivaldi.
Just superbe - Vivaldi always makes me feel so wonderfully alive - and this energy can be felt through the musicians. It all just sparkles and breaks through the boundaries....
listening to this while working with excel sheets at 11:30 pm is keeping me from jumping off the building!!!
Soy un gran admirador de la música clásica o renacentista pero particularmente hablando Antonio Vivaldi fue, es y seguirá siendo un genio porque su música refleja su alma y ese maravilloso mundo llamado "ANTONIO VIVALDI
