I have a quick question. Since you installed it yourself, do you have to install the GPS receiver that comes with the screen? I plan on just using Apple CarPlay and my navigation apps. Or do you have to install the GPS unit that comes with it?
Can I ask, you know the usb aux box...is all the wiring for that concealed? It looked like there was some coming out of the left side of the centre console?

Wow! Only one question: when you turn on the car, I can see in the video that the screen takes around 20/25 seconds to turn on. If I put the reverse gear while the screen is turning on (during these 20 seconds) the rear camera can quicky activates? Or I have to wait 20 seconds to see the rear camera view on the screen? I bought car from dealer (not owner of the car) and he doesn’t know pin to set android screen to factory settings. Reason to do that is that my iphone cant find connection via BT and the android screen. What can i do? Do you have any advise? Tnx

Great video and indeed a massive upgrade for my W204. Does the sound from the unit come out through any new speaker that came with the new unit or is it all routed to the original speakers? How about microphone? Does it use a new microphone for calls or does it automatically work with the OEM one in the car? Those are the details I still need to find out before ordering one of these. The steering wheel controls work when you have the phone connected with MB Bluetooth, I’ve not used it in any other way, and it’s the same process with burmester, and I have DAB built into my original NTG mode and so I don’t have DAB installed on the android side
Thanks mate, just trying to understand the daily workings. So if you want to listen to DAB you just run it as normal from NTG, but you can still then run the Android screen, example Google Maps etc while the DAB plays? And if you keep the phone connected to the NTG, you just use that as normal, example while in Google maps, you can hit the voice control on the steering wheel and say "call xyz" and it calls as normal?

I have the oem reverse camera and yes it switches automatically to it, if you have 360 degree camera it will also show that as it’s in the same screen as the reverse camera

I’m happy with the screen yes, I have also fitted the stock screen CarPlay box into a friends car, I think if you want the facelift look then the android screen is good, and in terms of using CarPlay it looks a lot nicer, however if you want a more seamless experience with less hassle and quickly loading up then the stock screen CarPlay box is better, the android screen isn’t that much of hassle for myself personally but everyone will be different, I am soon however installing the oem facelift screen and digital cluster soon so will be making a video on that
@@DragonM109R Your wheel knob and buttons should work in the NON NTG mode as well (in the Android interface, in most apps and also in CarPlay/Android Auto if you have that on the unit). Try swapping the A/B connectors (these control the car's CAN bus). They are white boxy connectors and there should be labels A, B and A/B on them, and should must have been supplied with the unit you have bought. Its best to have your car switched off before swapping them.
Excellent video. I have just pit the 12.3" version in my GLC and using my phone as a hot sport so cam have full screen Google maps only problem is when someone calls it opens the phone app and you then can't go to anything until you end the call, does yours do that? Would be nice to be on a call but still have Google maps open. Thanks.
To be honest with you I only use the screen for CarPlay, have never tried it your way, if you use CarPlay can use google maps on it and answer calls at the same time no problem

Hi.. I have same unit that I installed today.. But cant hear Audio.. How you connected? I see cable connected to a port called mic but its labeled Audio out so I connected to the USB Audio device that goes to usb 1 in console... Or is there a setting in device to route audio? thanks
There should be a 3.5mm cable coming out of the screen, you connect the usb to 3.5mm box to that, I think it is labelled audio out, and then go on the Mercedes NTG mode and set it to usb aux on the options list

I had actually gone out and removed console and noticed that I had connected to other 3.5mm I believe it's for MIC.. hadn't noticed second one at time and thankfully it was hanging in sight so didn't have to take head unit off again.. just center console. :) but thansk again for reply and Merry Xmas !!
If your in android (not ntc) and go into reverse dose the reverse camera work? Secondly what settings have you got to show your climate information showing on the bottom?
Yes it automatically switched to the reverse camera and goes off when you’re out of reverse, it has its own climate pop up bar which comes up when you press the climate control buttons, looked better than the oem one in fact
I just got this installed. I’m using apple car play, I can hear directions just fine, but I can’t hear my music... the song will show as playing on my phone, but there’s no sound through the car speakers nor my phone speakers. Why is this?
Sound quality is exactly the same from what I’ve tested so far, and I’ve not actually watched any videos on it so far, as I just use CarPlay really, if I do find that it does have a delay then I’ll let you know

I have a Premium Plus W205, and noticed a massive difference in sound qualoty. Not sure whether it's because I have the Bermester Sound System, or because it's a poor quality AUX to USB adapter included

You can send the audio via mercedes original NTG bluetooth and use CarPlay, but in my opinion I have been using this method and sometimes the screen it shows the original Mercedes menu when changing songs from the steering wheel, you just have to go back to CarPlay, and it is also heard better by taking the sound out via AUX since the audio is transmitted via WiFi and not via bluetooth :)
Personally I think the 10.25 inch screen looks more oem, and on the Facebook groups anecdotally I feel I see more problems with the 12.3 inch screens than the 10.25 inch

Yes this is a whole different unit with CarPlay built in, so replaces your existing unit and so even you don’t have CarPlay before you can still install it

Hey, buddy! I'm facing an issue when using Android Auto. When I receive a call then a blue call screen appears when being in a call. So I can't use Google Maps while talking. Any thoughts? 😁
i installed it and when start the car, the screen switch on, but if i stop the car and leave (for example, fill benzine) and then, when enter again, switch on the car, the screens not starts (display black). It only happens in short stops, if i leave the car 1h for example, then when switch on, screen works properly in starts. Anyone knows which could be the problem?
This happened to me more often when I first installed the screen, if this happens just switch the car off, open the driver door and lock the car even if you’re sat inside and then wait about 20 seconds and then restart the car and it’ll work
I’ve fitted many aftermarket systems before so I’m comfortable with the install, if you’re confident with taking interior parts apart then it’s not too difficult, and yeah all the buttons all work

So if you connect your phone to the MB Bluetooth at the same time as the android screen you can use CarPlay and all the sound will play through MB Bluetooth, you have to select on your phone on the music app to play through MB Bluetooth instead of CarPlay though, and that way you can use the steering wheel controls and also see the song playing on your speedometer. I do it this way takes 2 seconds when you start the car up
@@LifeOfEmi Brilliant ! I always just use MB Bluetooth and if it still appears on the speedo then that is great. I guess it will show the songs on the car play screen too ?
@@fcbarcelona4eva yeah so when you click Apple Music on CarPlay it’ll show it, sometimes it’ll switch back over to output through CarPlay on the phone, so you’ll have to click on the phone again to play through MB Bluetooth

@@jmltube yes for the initial connection you need to also click the WiFi androidAP as well as the Bluetooth connection and then after that it’ll automatically connect both every time you start the car up

It does, when you turn the headlights on it will change brightness, you can also control the brightness manually on the screen

Can you change the inteface of it? (Like removing the "andoid apps" on the bottom) When you buy from dmp cardesign it looks a little bit different.
You can put different loaders on it which will have different looks to them

Awsome screen only thing is that the image is stretched a little, when u go in to the NTG look parts. Main screen ect looks fine.
You have the option to have it the same size as the normal NTG screen size or make it full screen in which it has to stretch the look of it

My cable is routed through the glovebox, did you unscrew the centre console to lift it up and run the cable through into the centre glovebox?

Hi this is wireless CarPlay, and yes the CarPlay comes up automatically when connected to Bluetooth! Wired CarPlay will need a dongle
On that NaviFly unit, the builtin CarPlay is only wireless, while Android Auto is only wired.

If you have a 360 camera and interior lighting, does this show the 360 camera and let you adjust the interior lighting?
Yes it will switch back to the Mercedes mode for the camera, and you can change the ambient lighting by going back into the Mercedes NTG mode
Does the OEM radio play while using the android features e.g. maps?
Yeah you can have it so the oem radio plays, you just change the mode to radio and it’ll play in the background when using the android mode

Does reserve camera work when not in NTG mode, and do steering wheel buttons work when not in NTG mode??
Camera Works.. even if you turn off screen.. it makes unit wake up into backup camera mode. And for me Wheel buttons do not work in NON NTG mode.

@@LifeOfEmi Yes I was told it was wireless but I think that's just carplay. I used a USB cable and zlink to connect.
Hi.. I have same unit that I installed today.. But cant hear Audio.. How you connected?
I see cable connected to a port called mic but its labeled Audio out so I connected to the USB Audio device that goes to usb 1 in console...
Or is there a setting in device to route audio? thanks
There should be a 3.5mm cable coming out of the screen, you connect the usb to 3.5mm box to that, I think it is labelled audio out, and then go on the Mercedes NTG mode and set it to usb aux on the options list

I had actually gone out and removed console and noticed that I had connected to other 3.5mm I believe it's for MIC.. hadn't noticed second one at time and thankfully it was hanging in sight so didn't have to take head unit off again.. just center console. :) but thansk again for reply and Merry Xmas !!

If your in android (not ntc) and go into reverse dose the reverse camera work?
Secondly what settings have you got to show your climate information showing on the bottom?
Yes it automatically switched to the reverse camera and goes off when you’re out of reverse, it has its own climate pop up bar which comes up when you press the climate control buttons, looked better than the oem one in fact

I just got this installed. I’m using apple car play, I can hear directions just fine, but I can’t hear my music... the song will show as playing on my phone, but there’s no sound through the car speakers nor my phone speakers. Why is this?
because you didn’t switch the audio cables from the main unit of the car to the added unit it comes with

Did you lose sound quality, and did you experience a relatively video delay?
Sound quality is exactly the same from what I’ve tested so far, and I’ve not actually watched any videos on it so far, as I just use CarPlay really, if I do find that it does have a delay then I’ll let you know

@@MichaelDiiaz hi I have realised yes that there is a delay in video and sound, however as I use it for music on CarPlay it hasn’t bothered me, but would obviously be an issue if watching videos, there are ways online I think to sort the issue
I have a Premium Plus W205, and noticed a massive difference in sound qualoty. Not sure whether it's because I have the Bermester Sound System, or because it's a poor quality AUX to USB adapter included
@@KentBaller yeah updating my previous comment, after testing more, the original Mercedes system does sound a lot better, I also have the burmester, I play music through MB Bluetooth whilst on CarPlay now

@@benjaminde-veer3912 you don’t go off the car details as majority of the times it’s wrong on AliExpress, message the seller, he will ask for a picture of your system and will advise you if it’s the right one

Does the reverse camera work ones u out of ntg mode
Yes it’s automatically switches when putting it into reverse and switches back to the screen you were last on when taken out of reverse

I saw in flexx’s video he said you can’t use the steering wheel controls (changing volumes, skipping songs) with this screen, is this true?
Volume is the only thing that works for flexx video
You can send the audio via mercedes original NTG bluetooth and use CarPlay, but in my opinion I have been using this method and sometimes the screen
it shows the original Mercedes menu when changing songs from the steering wheel, you just have to go back to CarPlay, and it is also heard better by taking the sound out via AUX since the audio is transmitted via WiFi and not via bluetooth :)

Personally I think the 10.25 inch screen looks more oem, and on the Facebook groups anecdotally I feel I see more problems with the 12.3 inch screens than the 10.25 inch

Yes this is a whole different unit with CarPlay built in, so replaces your existing unit and so even you don’t have CarPlay before you can still install it

How do you get widescreen on your back up camera? Mine has a black kilometer on right half of screen when backing up
You need to change the aspect ratio of your NTG mode to full screen not half screen, in the system settings menu

i installed it and when start the car, the screen switch on, but if i stop the car and leave (for example, fill benzine) and then, when enter again, switch on the car, the screens not starts (display black). It only happens in short stops, if i leave the car 1h for example, then when switch on, screen works properly in starts. Anyone knows which could be the problem?
This happened to me more often when I first installed the screen, if this happens just switch the car off, open the driver door and lock the car even if you’re sat inside and then wait about 20 seconds and then restart the car and it’ll work
How easy was it to install? Are all the button fucntionalities working with the unit?
I’ve fitted many aftermarket systems before so I’m comfortable with the install, if you’re confident with taking interior parts apart then it’s not too difficult, and yeah all the buttons all work

So if you connect your phone to the MB Bluetooth at the same time as the android screen you can use CarPlay and all the sound will play through MB Bluetooth, you have to select on your phone on the music app to play through MB Bluetooth instead of CarPlay though, and that way you can use the steering wheel controls and also see the song playing on your speedometer. I do it this way takes 2 seconds when you start the car up

@@fcbarcelona4eva yeah so when you click Apple Music on CarPlay it’ll show it, sometimes it’ll switch back over to output through CarPlay on the phone, so you’ll have to click on the phone again to play through MB Bluetooth

Bro ‐ when I use the turn signal on mine the system switches me out of the android screen to mbux. Did you have any such issues?

@@jmltube yes for the initial connection you need to also click the WiFi androidAP as well as the Bluetooth connection and then after that it’ll automatically connect both every time you start the car up
It has error when call by Facetime . We can talk but can’t see caller , and , the caller can see us
This will be because the screen doesn't have a camera
