- What's up guys! Today we added Apple CarPlay to this Mercedes Benz c43 with the NTG 5 system. Very smooth install!

Why did you have to plug your iPhone into the AUX port when you are saying in your video title that this is "Wireless Apple CarPlay".
I just got a 2018 c class. It had a usb plug at side of gearbox. I connected my i phone to it. Carplay comes up on screen but no sound. It has a 3.5 mm jack plug in centre console. Also. Ive messed about. Eventually got sound with carplay. Using Bluetooth. And phone plugged into usb cable at side of gearbox. Obv my car has a retro fit media box similar to yours. Ive checked for aux activation on screen. Not showing. I see your i pod box. You showed. Is a female jack socket to usb same thing. Would that work. Or am i better getting aux activation on

Hi, very nice tutorial! How is the sound routed to the car when on carplay? Is it coming from the device to the car via USB aux input? If so, does it decrease sound performance?

Installed my apple CarPlay system today for my 2017 C300 with the smaller screen. But when I turned on the car to make sure everything worked the apple CarPlay screen over filled my screen, making it so that some of the icons got cut off. I messed around with the dip switches but that seemed to make it worse as my screen won’t turn on at all! Anyway you could help?

Do we still need to use old radio head unit or you just put it back without connection? Just asking as my radio head unit is not working so do i need to fix it first or it can be upgraded without it?

dumb question time, why would someone opt to have this fitted into the later models (2017+, 5.1) rather than have the CarPlay Activation done for less money and without having to pull the car apart?
Thats a good option for the NTG5.1 cars but the module has Wireless CP and supports screen mirroring which the oem system definitely does not do. If those are not important to you, go the oem road
If it’s not the NTG5S1 you cannot activate it. Which most of the C classes are not. So you have to use this method.

Mine system doesn’t have the fibre optics on the OEM power plug is that normal ? 😅 and did you do anything with the audio gnd wire ?
Yeah that’s fine just means you don’t have factory amp :) and audio GND I didn’t do anything with and you won’t need it either, you’ll notice the quad lock has more wires in it as all the speakers are there

Hi I have a 2016 Mercedes c class estate that I want to put CarPlay in. It doesn’t have aux and I have searched for a dongle like you have shown to add aux but they all say c class are not compatible even though it’s W205? Just saw your video and found it very interesting. I have a 2017 Mercedes C300 that when I do a VIN search says I have Audio 20, NTG 5. Is you system compatible with this to add Apple Car Play and Android Auto? Does if affect any existing systems?
Definitely compatible! And does not affect any of the original equipment whatsoever :)

I have fitted this kit in my C-Class W205 year 2015. When I receive an SMS and I see the notification on the Apple car play panel when trying to open the SMS folder, the module is trying to read and announce the SMS content (cannot hear anything from speakers) than allowing me to read it normally as you read it when you hold the actual phone. Is it anything to do to be able to read my SMS's normally as I see them when holding my phone?

Nope as they use digital (fibre optic) input to the amp

Plug in for initial connection and to set up + accept wireless, next time you jump in car itll connect auto :)

Nope, more positive than negative. Likes are almost always like that where you’ll get lots of views but not expect lots of likes. Currently this video has 707 likes and 40 dislikes. You can get a chrome extension that shows dislikes

Aircon - not visible on carplay.
camera - works like standard on carplay and on oem system :)
