      Prosinecki was an artist type. He was fun to watch. Regarding his lifestyle (chainsmoking, nightclubbing) and stamina his body of work is pretty impressive: youth world cup victory as best player, world cup third place, european cup victory with Zvezda. Do you remember those years before signing to Madrid? Neither Boban nor Modric ever played on that level with that natural talent, creativity and courage. @@peacefulwarrior7954 Talent is an illusion. Until we didn't understood neuroscience we had this misconceptions about supernatural properties. Talent is nothing more than neurons in brain firing optimally when performing certain set of actions. If the links are established than consistency will be achieved.
      In other words some people who you call talented have consistency in doing certain set of actions. And some people have to learn them from scratch. Only reason why some people fail is either if they have disabilities , like learning disability, or lack of dedication.
      Another factor is loving what you do. Its easier to achieve brilliance in certain discipline if you love what you do. Some kids don't love football, they see it as financial opportunity or their parents forced them to play for same reasons.
      And some kids love to play football and develop certain routines through life that help them achieve their goals.
      To say that Prosinečki din't trained is so far from truth. He played football from the day he could walk, and he loved every day he could spend doing it.
      To love what you do = talent.

Maradona himself wrote in his book that Robi was one of his toughest opponents. He wasn't stingy with the ball, that's nonsense. Croatia's best ever player in my opinion.
    I remember having an argument with someone claiming peak Robert Prosinecki wouldn't get in the Croatia team that played at WC18... He said Davor Suker is only only player from 1998 good enough to play for them in 2018, I told him in a combined XI of their WC98 & & WC18 sides they'd be more featured in the XI from 1998, he didn't have a clue at all as this man had more ability in his little left toe than most do at their peak... if he really dedicated himself led a professional life away from the pitch he would've been an all time great, this is a man who hated training never took it serious and smoked 2 or 3 packs of cigarettes a day if he'd have been a fitness freak he'd be known by most.

      @@dzemilmehovic5271 he tried saying Brozovic Kovacic and Perisic were better for him and that the 2018 team was far more talented, my eyes rolled told him he couldn't have seen Prosinecki at Red Star I thought he was the man who made them tick... Thought he was more important to that team than Dejan Savicevic, Sinisa Mihajlovic or Darko Pancev it was a great team though.
      I told him Zvonimir Boban could've ran the engine of that wc18 Croatia midfield on his own he was another underrated player today he'd be worth £60-70m, that Croatia 98 team were super talented I mentioned those and even Mario Stanic was another good player... I told him Slaven Bilic would get in so would Dario Simic and probably Igor Stimac too as the 18 defence wasn't that great, Jarni is definitely their best ever left back and without Roberto Carlos could've had a far longer stay at Real Madrid. It'd be been even stronger if Mihajlovic wouldn't have stayed Yugoslav and played for the land of his birth... I can't remember the 98 keeper maybe he'd make the combined XI too maybe he wouldn't I took no notice as the outfield players are the ones that stood out for me.
      Had the same conversation with people on a different thread a couple years back who genuinely actually believed Neymar is better than Pele, Ronaldo and Romario ever was... People like barbosa uploading these videos prove to anyone else who isn't blind that football players in general have gone downhill talent wise, the very elite players are still super talented but it seems there's a missing bunch of truly world class players these days... if Rivaldo's peak years were in the last 12 years he'd be argued as a top 3 player of his generation along with the obvious 2 no doubt, yet he was regarded as only a top 3 player from his country by most who don't look at him in depth...Some people would say he wasn't as good as Ronaldo, Ronaldinho or Kaka, even though Kaka arrived later a lot of people would list Rivaldo 4th place, personally I think out of those 4 Brazilians mentioned he was only behind Ronaldo who at his best was untouchable... Ronaldinho was the most fun to watch for skills and tricks made some people love football again but Ronaldo was actually a better Dribbler just didn't roll out the tricks. Kaka was amazing too but Rivaldo when not getting hit by football's mostly did things more directly and less eccentric than Dinho or Kaka, more than 400 goals in less than 900 games speaks for itself in Rivaldo's case for me, that's for a guy most people think as more of an attacking midfielder or second striker creator than outright scorer... If around today in this bad era Brazilian people would worship him.
      I've gone way off course a bit I still love football but just wanted to demonstrate how fickle some people are, some people think Christian Eriksen is better than Michael Laudrup ever was or those in the past 2 weeks saying Jack Grealish is the new Paul Gascoigne there's no respect to the ability of players in our past by a lot.

    Nice to watch his technical highlights but his best days were as a young player of 21-22 years. Never developed once he left Red Star Belgrade and became a shadow of himself. Injuries and lack of professionalism didn't help him. Early on he had the ability to move away from opponents with the ball with some deceptively good acceleration, but when he lost that he tended to keep the ball too long and over complicate things. No surprise that he had to return to Croatia at 28 (when most players are in their prime) and for the NT he lost his spot in the XI during the course of both Euro 96 and France 98.

    He was good and an exellent dribbler. However, when he played in Real Madrid he abused of dribbling, which slowed down the game of the group, because in a team like that you need lightning fast midfielders who pass the Ball quickly, not keeping it by dribbling rivals. In my opinion that is why he never made it with "los merengues".

    • @ziginaigra
      @ziginaigra ปีที่แล้ว

      not rly its more becasue war in craotia and injuries+ he didnt slowed game just becasue was want to dribble, its becasue he didnt have anyone to pass too in that moment
