    As a Juve fan for over 30 yrs, I remember this game like yesterday. Just FYI, this Juve team were stacked with players like: Buffon, Del Pieoro, Zlatan, Viera, Zambrotta, Camoranesi, Nedved, Thuram, Cannavaor etc. This to me, was one of the top teams I've seen as a Juve fan, before that whole calciopoli mess. But nagh, this game, I knew something was strange. It was not Ronaldinho, In which I waiting to see that magic of his, it was Messi. Something about that guy was just irritating me, I was like, how in the hell are we getting punked by this little man. I was expecting Ronaldinho, but nagh Messi was different. I am glad my team was part of this great story.

    No Yamal, no Vini Jr, no Mbappe, absolutely no one could be as good as Messi was at 17-18 yrs. Today's younger lot don't know about Messi of his teenage years when they start comparing today's wonderkids with him. Messi was one of a kind, can't be cloned, and can't be reproduced again. @@TM-rq5qw Do you know that Maradona was performing at halftime during professional games when he was a little kid? He would show his juggling skills in front of thousands. There are videos of him dominating international matches when he was a teenager.
      Maradona's passing was better than anyone else back then, but I do think his passing is pretty terrible for today's standards. That's because, today, they start doing rigorous training when they are little kids. Back then, players took too many risks with their passing. Passing today is much more conservatives and it's about retaining possession unless you're absolutely sure you're going to score. Passing through multiple defenders is something you see every match. Back then, it was rare.
      I don't like Maradona as a person. I think he's a shady sc*mbag, but you can't deny that his dribbling was on another level. Messis' technical dribbling isn't even that good. There are a lot of players that are better technically. Messi just has insane acceleration due to shorter legs. Nobody can keep up with him when he cuts back. Maradona had both acceleration and an amazing touch.
      If Maradona was playing today, I think he would do much better than Messi. It wouldn't be close.

    This is 2024 but it might take another century to see someone play football like Messi... There will be players like Yamal who might rule the football in their era and i am happy good wishes for them but Messi is all rounder in the field of football except for not being a goal keeper and main defender. The likes of CR7 and Mbabpe Or Halland are masters of their position but Messi rules in half of the field whenever he plays... Not every player will have that gift. Some might have 2 or 3 ability but Messi will always be above them as dribbler, playmaker, free kick maestro, assister, scorer and above all consistency and humility of the Great Sportsman.

    The scariest part is not that he played this good at 18, many people have had that at such a tender age. It's that he played like this from the moment he touched a ball the first time... Now that we have footage of him from 5 years old onwards, not much has changed in his play style, he was always the smallest kid, he always had the best ball control, he had a resilience unlike anybody and was blessed with precision out of this world.
    A true natural of the game, you can't teach this, that's why it's close to impossible to attain his level. In many ways he became an inspiration to so many but that's so deceiving because one can simply not learn the things he has done on the pitch, you have to be born for it. This is why it's so unbeliavably fortuitous formthis generation that Cristiano Ronaldo went toe to toe with him because he is much more of a trained product of the game and has shown that you can get close to this, even if you can't reach it.
    I'm certainly counting myself blessed to have had the opportunity to watch him throughout his career, chances are I won't see another one in my lifetime. Muchos gracias Leo❤

    I watched Messi in a friendly game. It was Germany vs Argentina in 2012.
    I followed Messi since 2005 / U20 World Chmapionship and after that I watched all Barca matches live, re live or the sum ups. So I knew Messi very well and wanted to see his magic in real life and what makes him so special on the pitch. I knew less after the match then before. Because he does things one can't explain. It is really like some magic tricks what he is doing from time to time. There are so many scenes I still have in my mind. I was like in trance when he got the ball and was like how did he manage to do this and that.
    His skills are just insane.

    • @giannismargaris9553
      @giannismargaris9553 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      i miss when the fans would rate players based on their team contribution overall and not just goals. Now you might have a beast of a player who dribbles past everybody, creates chances etc and people will call him mediore because he did not score many goals. According to them, benzema or harry kane is better than ronaldinho and maradona lol. This might sound like far fetched, but i blame ronaldo fanboys for this swift in people's mindsets. The man has a huge following, and most of his fanboys write comments on youtube make instagram, tik tok and youtube shorts about his goals, while totally ignoring the fact that cristiano cannot feint a single player or that he is barely invlolved in the link up that leads to the goal.
