My mother chose to have a Caesarian section when she was about to give birth to me, because I would have died or been crippled for life if she'd given birth vaginally. I had hip dysplasia and other abnormalities in my pelvic area's skeletal development (due to issues in the womb, not genetics), and dragging me through her like a calf with chains would probably destroy something.
And it was way harder for her. I've seen the videos and the scars. My older sister slid out like a greased up penguin down a slip n slide.
Anyone who says that C-secs aren't "real births" can kiss my now perfectly aligned and very healthy hindquarters.

My friend had terrible time trying to find a good mask for her. A genetic chest problem made it tough to get a mask that she didn't feel like she'd be out of breath but also pandemic safe. If she could do it, Karen's will be fine
the thing that pisses me off is that there genuinely were people who medically *could not wear a mask*. and you know what those people did? 9 times out of 10 they just fucking STAYED HOME AND USED SUPPORT SYSTEMS TO GET WHAT THEY NEEDED. if these karens had so much 'trouble' with masks then they can stay home too

I've been hell close to smacking some Karen in the mouth. She was having a go at me about an item in her catalogue....which was from 2 years ago, so we didn't have the stock. I was basically in charge of my self and my shop area, so when she asked for someone in charge, I said I was.
The funny thing about South Park is that they actually have a Karen already. She's Kenny's little sister and she's the sweetest one in the show.

I remember vaguely from my development psychology classes, there's a stage in a childs life where they literally can't imagine an other perspective. It's if I'm not mistaken supposed to be an important part of early childhood (the ages 3-6). For example if you put a miniature mountain in front of them then put two human figurines on each side, since they can see both figurines they literally can't conceptualize that they can't see eachother through the mountain. Yeah, Karens are stuck at that developmental stage.

This might be a reason. What i also can think of, would be the upbringing. Karens seem to be often in their 40' to 50' - which makes them children of the 70' and 80' - a time in which "anti-authoritarian education" was a thing (there's still remnants today like the 'unschooling' idea that's still floating around). Basically there was a time when it was thought to be bad to set limits for children - to not hinder their development in the best person they could be.
Turns out - not setting limits to children, can have its risks and side effects...
@@robertnett9793 there has to be a balance between keeping the imagination alive but making sure the kid knows their limits. Not too entitled but not too submissive. Realistic expectations and appropriate rewards would help I assume.

Here it was a reaction to the extremely strict education that came before - basically the children brought up by parents who lived during the Third Reich - rebelled against their extremely authoritarian rules and did the absolute opposite. Which turned out to be not really much better...
I whole heartedly agree with you. There is a golden path between too restrictive and too loose. Guidiance and protection, instead of either absolute controll or no limits at all.

I actually feel really bad for my mom, who's name is Karen. Who has been the absolute antithesis of a "Karen" her whole life. She has a boomer moment now and then but overall she is just one of the most consistently considerate, pleasant, extraordinarily kind, extremely hardworking, constantly self-sacrificing and unassuming. She's rarely entitled but does occasionally substitute for doormats. She has the best sense of humor which she will inject into absolutely everything, even when she probably shouldn't. Whatever experience a stranger shares with her, mundane or shocking, upsetting or awkward, she has a way of joking about it with them like they're an old friend who's in on the joke. She insists on not ever putting others out and always trying her best. She's been taken advantage of a lot in her life. She never gets the appreciation she deserves. It's actually taken a long time to get her to start standing up for herself when she really should. She's the type who would launch herself into a wood chipper without pause to save someone helpless but never speaks up for herself. It just sucks so much to see someone who has worked so hard and been so good, be overlooked and taken advantage of forever and now, towards the end of her life, her name finally means something, and its exactly the behavior she has been so hard against her whole life. But being the champ she is, she just laughs at the irony.

On a personal note, my beloved MIL, who was the BEST MIL EVER, was also a Betty. When I lost my mother quite suddenly, she was my rock to get through my grief. Hubs was great, but her being there for me reassuring me that I still had my other "Mama" (Her) meant so much to me. Unfortunately, we also lost her 2 years ago. For 23 years, I had the very rare "Perfect MIL."
This reminded me of an article I recently saw. It was about how a lot of kids get a Huggy Wuggy Plush and how that's bad for them. And of course they brought up the Video games are bad argument. Karens complaining about stuff they bought for their kids and getting support from idiots is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen

While I know why people use the term "Karen" for annoying entitled women I don't think I can bring myself to use it because my family's hairdresser is named Karen and she's lovely and I think she's only in her late 30's too so completely not the entitled selfish pains in the neck that people labelled as "Karens" are.

I’ve always found it funny that people don’t want to wear a mask, because it’s the easiest to keep my nose warm when it’s freezing outside, and I plan to wear them every winter now.
In winter they genuinely can be nice, but in a 38 degree boiling classroom in midsummer with the heaters set to max, where I can’t see a damn thing because it steams up my glasses, it’s the absolute worst and I’m so glad I’m actually exempt.

I went to a pizza restaurant a few weeks ago, really great place and affordable. Well when I got there with my grandfather and step grandmother, we were the first ones in. Like they just opened the doors, we all ordered the buffet and got our food, we just sat down and was chatting when this woman her daughter and who I can assume was the woman’s grandchildren walked in. The daughter looked like she was in her early to mid twenties, the grandmother looked like she was around in her 40s or so. They got the buffet and sat by the table closest to the buffet, got two plates of pizza. Now these people didn’t just have a few slices of pizza on the tiny plates, they had to have at least 10 slices on each plate. The kids were going wild but not to wild, they were climbing over and under the table, screamed when the grandmothers or the mothers legs were in the way, etc. My grandfather happened to look up and see that the eldest grandson who looked like he was in like 4th or 5th grade, so he was old enough to know better, shove his hand and grab a huge handful of pepperoni that was on the buffet. While the mother and grandmother just got up to grab more pizza, even tho they had over half left from the first time. We left shortly after but I felt so bad for the other customers and the workers there.
Edit: because they looked like the type of people who would go after a restaurant if their kids got sick when they let their kids climbs over the table and let the kids set the food down on the table instead of a plate or a napkin.

Me and my siblings were all C-section. I would have been born feet first but luckily they had the knowledge of how to perform this procedure. Had C-section never existed I would likely have died shortly after birth like my great uncle who died 2 days after being born. I find it so strange that “Karen” is the meme about people being shitty and entitled. I’ve worked retail on and off for around ten years and male customers are way, way worse. Sure, women will yell and demand to speak to a manager, but so will men, and I’ve never had a woman sexually harass me, try to physically intimidate me, or attempt to start a fist fight with security.
I've had woman do all three of those. Karen is both sexes and all races.

Exact opposite with me. Granted, I'm a male myself, so hard to say how that influences it, but when we had that type of customer, women usually were worse. Don't get me wrong, had my fair share of yelling, aggressive males, but much smaller than yelling, aggressive females.

From what I remember they started so that predominantly white neighborhoods could try to keep out black and minority occupied housing, most people who weren’t rich white people couldn’t afford single family homes so they insisted on neighborhoods being built only out of them and made HOAs to stop affordable housing or even duplexes and multiple family homes being built/converted out of existing houses.
I love how when i worked at a grocery store a couple years ago, our store manager on more than one occaison has told belligerent assholes that were verbally abusing the teenage cashiers(usually me) to fuck right off. Something along the lines of "get the FUCK out of my store!" I love that guy, he gives no fucks, and has kept situations with drunk customers from escalating simply by kicking them out and not taking their shit.

My brother recently told me about a mega chill supervisor they have at work who worked at a supermarket where he was the manager. This stores's policy was that everyone including the manager had to do register time. So the guy was doing his register shift and some dick (not a female Karen) got flustered that the cost of one item was literally 2 crowns (like 2 25ths of a dollar) more than the cost he saw when taking the item of the shelf, the guy told the dick ,,look, if you're that bothered by this, then just don't take the item and don't make such a fuss about this" which made the dick spiral into a rage and he started demanding the manager. The guy stood up from behind the register, shouted ,,I'M THE FUCKING MANAGER YOU CUNT" and punched him right in the jaw, putting the dick down on his ass. The guy behind the register just took his work shirt off and left the store because he knew he was fired 😂 maaaan if I stood in line at that moment I'd clap for the guy, what a legend
