I love how you guys all have "lived in" looking houses! Makes me feel so much better about the chaos i create while renovating in my house...my tools are lined up in the hallway, paint cans stacked in the toilet while I'm rebuilding my office.😊
Lolol you guys are flipping crazy!! The toilet crawl was the best! While I’m envious of your wives having such cape able husbands it’s good to know that your homes are as lived in as the rest of us. I love it.
Hi, Watching from the UK, seen the entire series of u building the rental property , was in awe and inspiration of what true skilled workers look like , your team is a massive credit to your community . So appreciative of u sharing an insight into whats involved , massive thanks and so nice to see such a tight knit team along with fantastic humour , stay safe and well
My Mom is from Lenoir .. actually I was born there also.. and she always talked about the wonderful mountains in N Carolina .. and when I see the wonderful views from you home and many places in your area I now know what she was talking about.. just so beautiful.. Thanks for another great video... also watched the Vegas video .. good watching all the guys having fun.... Thanks... Regards to all...
When wife says "I don't care, you decide", she means "I don't care to participate in the process but I'll 100% have an opinion after you decide". The ultimate husband struggle. Coming from a guy who designed and built a 5000 sf family home 🤣
Thank you for inviting us into your home/family. Oh, the memories. We raised 4 boys, I know where you're at. Am I the only one who is still hoping to see how Ray's kitchen came out?
I love the loose screws in the door hinges. There's an old adage that the plumber's faucet drips, the roofer's roof leaks, and the carpenter's doors are ready to fall off the hinges.
You definitely made the right decision to go ahead and do the bathroom. Best to just do it all at once. Transformed the place! Probably will feel a bit chillier down there in winter without the carpet, but will be heavenly in the hot summers there!
You guys make construction and wood work look so easy, perfect and beautiful! Also the way y’all edit your videos really attracts the viewers and teaches us a lot!
Great choice... the vinyl floors from Pergo are REALLY strong. My Pergo floors are 17 years old and they are like brand new, thats just insane and people often ask "are these new".
Regarding your outdoor concrete walk with a step about every 6 feet or so. This is an accident waiting to happen...someone falling on their face. It would be better to combine your steps into one single flight and dig into the slope of the ground or gently slope the walk, slightly (1 foot in 50 feet, or 2% slope). Single steps are dangerous especially when you are not paying attention as to where you are standing or walking. As you get older, it is more dangerous for less ambling older folk. Also, the series of steps should have railing to grab. I am only 73 and did a belly flop on my face on MY exposed aggregate step series like yours. When you miss a step going downhill, you dont stop at one. Ask any landscape architect worth his/her weight in senior housing.
Put that same floor in my bathroom a year and half ago. Different color and style though. Absolute hell installing it. So much cutting but luckily my Dad was able to help me out. Took us two full days to instal it. Not including the demo I did prior to remove the old floor. We also had to laid down a new plywood subfloor and then a water barrier on top of that.
Years ago my son was helping his buddy and father strip out a pizza joint . It came time to do the bathroom. My sons buddy lifted the toilet over his head to toss it into a dumpster,As he put the can over his head and let out a scream and a stream of water from the toilet poured into his open mouth. This is a 100% true . Nice job.
That surely goes in the top ten funniest moments with you guys! Eric hobby-horsing the toilet out of the bathroom, and pausing about what to do and Jason saying "well keep going!"
Great job guys, the basement looks terrific! 👏🏻 Thanks to to your youngest son for reminding me how I too used to "tush bounce" down our basement stairs! 🤣🤣
I think Eric has a ulterior motive using his channel to slowly remodel his house as the channel grows lol Keep up the good work guys! Edit:I’m joking! I got nothing but love for eric and the crew.
Why not? Furniture channels make stuff for their homes too and it's still great content. And for a change they have 1000% creative control (as far as "the Code" allows)
Apart from being an ex chippie, I also spent a couple of years a s a floor covering contractor & I can say you guys did an awesome Job! I laughed so much with the stink of the carpet removal, yep! that's just what it's like!! Anyway, a great improvement, I'm sure you are happy! I would have loved to have worked with a crew like you guys, you can get the work done but enjoy it at the same time, Great Stuff!! 👍
Almost every craftsman I've ever known always does great work in other peoples home but never in their own. Although there is one gal I've seen on youtube that is remodeling her new used home and it's looking beautiful.
Great job, at our last house we had 5 children, 12 dogs and 3 cats. So I sympathize with you. Yes, it is true that as a dad/pet owner you get immune to the smells, and sights. Modular flooring goes down so well and looks great. Has Jay ever thought about being a stand-up comedian? Thanks for posting and making me laugh 😂😂
Just to pass on tip I learned recently regarding when you have to remove a toilet to do a floor renivation or as in my case I had to get my main sewer line cleaned out and the toilet in the basement was the only way to gain access to the main line. The plumber used a wet/dry shop vacuum to suck out the water, very little water got on the floor when the toilet was removed. It worked really well, luckily my clog was about 50 feet down the line so they ran the "Roto-Rooter" bladed snake down the line. Turned out to be roots from the tree in my front yard had partily cloged the line.
Reminds me of the time we had white carpet in our living/dining and 4 (yes 4!) cats. Lasted 6 years and we cleaned up all the spills with bleach and when we pulled the carpet up we almost passed out. So then we tiled the whole house. Easy cleanup.
Oh my gosh!!! We watch you guys while we eat lunch. I thought I was going to need to shut this off. Having Jason gagging I thought I was going to throw up/ my hubby was laughing. 😂😂 Never a dull video
I love watching you guys build houses but watching you do vinyl plank ,which is what I do, is funny because of the few things you do wrong because it’s your first time. But because it was your first time you did really well tho, also you could do your stairs in LVP too you just need stair nosings that matches the floor and PL 3x glue or maybe Lexel(I haven’t used it before) but your stair work was like perfect. Also pin nails are better for the shoe molding it doesn’t need a whole 18 gauge Brad nail😂
I used to live in Germany before moving to the US and we put something under the flooring. It's not only insulation but also muffles the sound when walking around. In fact, I have never seen it done without. I know Americans are not that bothered about insulating properly but just for the plain sake of having a quiet home, it's a good idea to invest in it We are renovating an apartment house in Germany right now and I have been told by our contractor it's mandatory in Germany now.
Regarding the carpeting stairs, in uk we do each step at a time. Like you cut the out stair length next cut each step piece out. It is time consuming but less pain and sweat.
That was a really good video. Also gives a good perspective on how long it would take 3.guys to do a job of that size and scope. Thanks for sharing Perkins!
I’m so happy to know that my teenaged son isn’t the only one that tends to somehow strip the hinge screws of every single door he uses routinely in my house! 😂
When my bride said I had to clean the bathroom after our boys were potty trained, I told them to sit or go outside.😂 It's amazing how much better the toilet area stayed clean...and dogs stayed outside.
Budy, I couldn't stop laughing with Ray doing his jokes! It was from '10:09 to 10:21! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Man, you guys are really professionals! congratulations to all of you. 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Eric you have my respect, I know the feeling of having a full house. Me and the wife are busy planning our home and vinyl flooring is the plan, well from my side. She wants tiles i'm like hell no. So yeah you can geuss who will win that one... Ps. I went on Telegram they tell me i can't send you a msg because it is of the protection of spam. Bummer.... Basement came out awesome!!!
I chose tiles for my husband to put down in our new room addition. The room is 24x30. What a mistake. He put 1/8 plywood down over the subfloor and then used shluter ditra on top of that. The 1/8 plywood started to pull up even though he glued and screwed it. The thin set to hold the ditra down was to wet. Anyway when it was done it looked really nice but was way way over budget and took forever. We chose Coretec for our bedroom. It was so much easier!
Jason is so quick with words that he will have you laughing til your stomach hurt.
He’s quick with it 😂
Jason deserves a raise for his good humor and positive attitude or intuitive locating skills! Great channel.
Don't you think it's akward to comment this to his employer? You have no idea what he is getting paied.
@@ZeppinnEU just a comment bro, he doesn’t run payroll 😂
Good fun to watch! Good problem solving. I love the losing of pencils, tape measures, knives and hammers! That's what I do!
nice work, as always!
PS: Am I the only one who is still hoping to see how Ray's kitchen came out?
Totally! Jason should do a surprise video on Ray's kitchen.
I wanna see Ray’s kitchen and that other kitchen remodel they started.
@@andrewdimauro7352 I don't understand what happened there. They never finished the series. I wonder if the homeowner was unhappy.
I think the bearded man (Ray) has a lot of work to do!!
There shouldn't be time left for him to finish his kitchen, it should take a little longer!
😅👍
LOL LOL NO

That’s me with my mom😂😂😂 every time! After am done …. She comes up with her ideas! Without a fail! Love you mom ❤
Pretty much. Lol

I did that exact toilet shuffle move last week. My wife was laughing the whole time and I was like, "I'm fighting for my life here woman".
I'm imagining a race between friends, each riding a toilet backwards for oh, fifty yards. LMAO!
@@monkeybarmonkeyman fifty yards?? Most of aren't teenagers anymore lol. I'd say ten yards, maybe! 🤣

I’m actually a flooring installer for Lowe’s The pergo duracraft you chose is a great product.
Great tip I found out from years of tearing out carpet... Rofing shovel for removing tack strips works amazing!
Great choice... the vinyl floors from Pergo are REALLY strong. My Pergo floors are 17 years old and they are like brand new, thats just insane and people often ask "are these new".
... its the approach bro. There is such a camaraderie and freedom amongst these colleagues that they can say anything and not offend each other.
Looks terrific guys. Thank you for the share.
“In the window sill….where you always put it” 🤣🤣🤣
