"can you carry your PC in your backpack?" A desktop, probably not, unless you've got like an ITX build or something, but absolutely a laptop. Does he just not go anywhere? Not do college or something? Or think that the laptop lid can't be closed? Laptops are inferior to desktops, and I say that as a laptop user who really likes said laptop. They've got worse thermals, are almost impossible to upgrade, are more expensive, don't last as long, etc. But if there's one advantage that laptops undoubtedly have over desktops, it's portability.
Wonder why these gamers don't mention laptops or Nintendo Switch more often, if they are so concerned about accessibility. After all, you don't even need to connect them to a TV :) In addition, they are more portable than Xbox and PlayStation. And if price is an issue, then I think Nintendo Switch is a pretty good option.
If you're dead set on a console then sure, Switch is a decent pick, but it's also an underpowered af tablet. If you're wanting to play the latest AAA games, 95% of them won't be available on Switch.

My PS4 Pro literally started overheating because dust blocked ALL of the vents for the fan. I had to spend an hour opening it up and cleaning it all out.
When I was a teen I would lug my 360 with me everyday to my friends house. We would all hook our 360's up and play online, I imagine that was probably what the other guy was doing as well to be putting it in a backpack all the time.

You can not do this reasonably in real time on CPU because of parallel nature of the computation: you trace energy of billions of rays, bouncing from your scene into your camera, rasterize those into a color and denoise the result.

They ignore how theyre tricked into buying the same plastic box twice or 3 times after an "Upgrade" or "Pro" version comes out. They ignore the fact that the corporations of said plastic boxes dont give them the ability to play their old catalogue of games because of no Backwards compatibility. They ignore the little to no peripheral support or no support of multiple monitor support/display support that consoles do not have. All in all they spend more on a console in the long run and canmot upgrade the parts inside. They spew anti-consumer diatribe and mis-information. They are joyful of being screwed over and their wallets drained by the corporations of the plastic boxes. They cannot understand reason, they only feel and feel.

If I wanted to take my PC places I would have made a small form factor build, not a massive mid tower that weighs 40 pounds.

Form factor builds and laptops exist. And my friends have brought their rigs to my house.
