i played the heck outta HD2, so i accumulated over 7k SC. so by just playing the game, i made enough SC, to buy anything in the stores and multiple warbonds.
thats not counting in further playing, cuz i quitted the game, since 180 countries are still blocked from buying the game on steam, even tho it doesnt need the PSN account link.

They probably looked at Helldivers, priced it similarly, and assumed people would pay for it. Helldivers is a far more unique experience, and the kicker was you can totally play Helldivers 2 solo. I put almost 200 hours into that game solo. A multiplayer only title for 40 and 60 dollars respectively is just not going to compete well. Especially with the goofy characters and Guardians of The Galaxy at home vibe. They’d be hard pressed if this were free to play to get this one to pick up steam, nevermind priced this way. I mean maybe it will be good, but most signs point to it not being that.

Ya know the ONLY benefit for buy to play is it does deter cheaters spamming free accounts at least. You don't get the TF2 bot problem when there's a payment per bot.
Other difference between Overwatch at $40 and Concord at $40 is Overwatch has more characters that look fun to play with. Concord just looks like it tried to outgay the entire Overwatch roster and just added every crackhead failed actor stereotype from California in and called it a roster.
I do think it is possible that Naughty Dog was HEAVILY pressured by Sony to make a live service game. There's records of Sony wanting to push live service which I think is why they bought bungie

Concord has to compete with Overwatch, Marvel Rivals, Helldivers 2, Destiny, XDefiant, Fortnite and now Valorant is also making the jump to consoles. And on top of that, come October they have to compete with Call of Duty.

I'm the kind of person that would find it difficult to put any amount of time or money investment into a F2P game if I know that one day the servers will be shut down and I couldn't play the game anymore. The game having a price tag doesn't make that any easier imo.
So you pay 40 or 60 bucks for a game that one day will not be playable because it relied on an online connection to a server that has since been shut off. Which means you never really owned the game. At best it stays in your library, but if you can't do anything with it at that time, then it is worthless.
Factions could have been so fun. The last of us multiplayer is so unique and different.
Lets not forget..Requires PSN if you pay that $40 on Steam for it as well.

Destiny did the exact same thing when Destiny 1 came out not showing gameplay just making it look cool and all but then when the game finally comes out well Bungie screwed the pooch and lied to its audience. And immediately when I found out I had to buy the DLC separately even though I bought the deluxe version I immediately took it back into my local gamestop and wanted my money back. Man The Fanboys are so desperate for a win that they're willing to buy this game even though other online Shooters are for free. What suckers....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.

Sony are 6y late to the party with those type of games y and the difference between Concord and Forza Motosports(both online games) is that they can make Forza to be played offline but they can't make Concord to be offline cause it needs its servers to be online

well I don't have a playstation console but I think if you want to play any multiplayer game on ps5 and 4 you have to sign up to playstation+(which is costs money too) even if its a f2p game so its more better

Is there a possibility that this game despite looking so generic and tired could end up being good? Absolutely. But the reveal and marketing has not inspired much confidence. This game's beta is going to need to be absolutely 🔥 if it wants any chance of surviving. Otherwise very few people are going to play this. It having a $40 price tag and requiring an extra barrier of entry with the PSN account requirement on PC further hurts its chances when there's already so many people uninterested in this overwatch clone. There's a very good chance this game is dead on arrival.
Eww PSN and also $40? 🤮 That's a hard no from me. I'm willing to bet soon they'll try to make a Playstation launcher and then force PS+ on the PC player base as well to boost their numbers. Luckily Ghost of Tsushima was the only PS game I ever wanted on PC, and that doesn't require a PSN account for single player. I was gifted Helldivers 2 at launch but that also doesn't require PSN (then again I haven't played it in almost a month now since they started doing all their shady stuff)

I think the reason why Concord exists is because it's woke, and the people running the studio are so woke that they've rather work on concord than anything else. Honestly well see how Concord will do on release, because i know for sure that this game is going to flop after week.
People wont mind paying 40 dollars for skins or a character but now feel its expensive to pay 40 dollar….
Nobody with an IQ above room temperature will pay $40 for skins and characters, and the loons that do are already sinking that money elsewhere. This looks awful, costs a cover price and is going up against games that already have a userbase and you can play for free. Even if this were free, its up against so much competition it will struggle to keep its head above water.

I think its fine to be $40 (not that its worth it) although I think free to play games bring in way too many "Development Professionals" Although Concord could be a great Idea of a game, If it were literally any other type of game entirely, It being the game that it is, I have beyond 0 interest in the gameplay, Although the characters dont look awful

I'm so tired of those Hero-Shooters. It's in my opinion one of the most annoying trends in the PvP Genre. Only being able to tell if someone is on the enemy team or not, when the game shows a red nametag and having abilities that give an unfair advantage will never be fun or engaging for me.
I don't even like these types of games but i will buy a copy in support of Sony. Sony is a really great company and if you like gaming you should support them too.... /S

If we talk about competition, GAAS tend to be free, so they can shove as much mtx as possible. Having an entry fee of 40 instead of being free may scare people away.
But We'll see.
The game is trying to compete in a bloated market where the competition already has most of the player base hooked. The game is going to rely on people being tired of the competitors to try a new game, but not tired of the genre so they'd be willing to try it. Adding a price tag to entry, lowers the amount of people willing to check out the game since they could just play the newer competition for free.
So the game being $40 in a already bloated market of free games means it'll end up like Foamstars or Lawbreakers.
