Luke, I think you're a storm chaser. Every time I watch your videos they take place during a storm. Exciting, but how do you find that many storms?

Riding 70 miles to get to the camp site on my bicycle. Would’ve been nice to catch some of this good weather we’re getting on the oregon coast.

May I suggest instead of tying your guy line to a rock, as high winds will pull it free from the rock. If you tie it to a stick then place one or more rocks on the stick, it will be much more stable.

I think I’ve told you this??? But anyway, I was sat reading in my caravan in North Wales, just out side of Mynaytho, near Abersoch. It had been great weather for a week. It was rumbling all around. I was just sat in the van reading and watching the storm too. There was such a flipping crack of lightning, not far from the van. It scared the you know what out of me. The book I was reading shot off and I nearly ended up on the caravan floor. It scared the living day light out of me. The lightning strike, was literally just in the next Feild. In fact, I’m not sure that lightning touched the ground. It scared me too death. Everyone’s electric in the caravans had gone. As we were on electric points. The year before, there was a twister at the back of Abersoch. We were all watching in the sun. But Abersoch was as black as my hat. We watched it do out too sea in Cardigan bay. Then about half way across, it dissipated. 😮😅😊❤❤❤❤

Military MRES rations and freeze-dried meals.
Throughout the past 80 plus years, have all had their ups and Downs and their pros and cons. My Uncle was in Vietnam and he got to eat. Most of the rations and canned foods that the military had at that time used to tell us about the different types. My father was in the Marine Corps for 20 years he worked logistics, so we had access to the various MRES that the military HAD during the 80s and 90s. Those ones were always very interesting to try. 😅

I had to do the mountain bike version of four wheel drive. Dismount and walk most of the way. When I am doing uphill climbs, It is like I am charging a battery. When it is time to come back down, It is like having a DIY eBike.

Lol the weather forecasters make it all up, it cold or mild winter is usually a 50/50 chance of either. That's in Britain, but of course your part of a very large continental land mass so maybe its different where you are. Those dehydrated meals are choc full of salt, what with your bad habits with coffee your headed for a stroke or heart attack, so be mindful that damage can be caused by seemingly harmless small increments. It's all about moderation.

Something else you can do is if you can find some of that hard stuff that you often find sticking off the sides of trees (I think it's some kind of lichen), you can break off a piece and stick it on a little twig in the ground and light the edge on fire. It'll sit there and smolder for a long time and works well to keep bugs away.

Hi love your vids. I have a question, but first I tell you about me. Ok am a double amputee Brit army veteran age 68. I'm the first amputee to climb many mountains around the world.mt blanc Eiger, Matterhorn, Mt Kenya, Tiede, and most highest mountain in European countries. Also done Mt Rainier, massive Mt, Mt Elbert in the USA.
This August I'm walking the Blue Ridge mountains on the Appalachian national trail 132miles , 8-10 days. Then off to CA to hike the high Sierra Trail and summit Mt Whitney. As far as we can find out no doubt has done the BRMt and no male amputee as done Mt Whitney or the trail. So im putting the union flag and my rent. Flag on the top.

This video is one of my new favorites! Everything looks so crisp and clear! Beautiful! Absolutely stunning. And the way you show the clouds moving over the mountains, and of course all of the wonderful sounds of thunder and rain....{heavy sigh}...perfect! Thank you, so much, for making these videos.

Is funny, most lone campers camp for a night and hurried to go back first thing in the morning. All the trouble just to sleep out in the wild for the night.

I was walking to my Deerstand in the dark. When I scared several turkeys out of the trees. That is what it sounded like !They are huge they look like B-52‘s going down the fire lane.😊

I find that a lot of bugs, even those typically not known for biting, eats me. One day a ladybug flew onto my arm and ate my skin in a perfectly straight line. Later that evening, i used that line to trace a drawing which revealed a map to Philadelphia. So i traveled to Philly and long behold, I met a dung beatle who needed a dung ball to roll. So he crawled to me and started to nibble at me in a perfectly circular pattern. Then i realized that I've just been a big pile of dung all along and the bugs just needed a smaller bite balls.... ps love your videos.

Nice walk in camp Luke👍👍 Liking the changing weather there, it's refreshing to know there's cool weather somewhere. Being of decent quality I expected the MountainSmith tent to perform, it looks good too. Incredible shots of the skies, mountains and mist. Great video and filming, well done thanks. Camp weather incoming, get ready for cool fun.

I have to tell you your tarp organization is awesome. I've learned a couple things about proper set up for conditions and options you have.

Luke, don’t you have coyotes & bears or worse where you hike and camp? If you do, how do you protect yourself?

With the pistol and the Bear spray that he carries in every video. He just doesn't show them on camera because if he does. TH-cam will demonetize these videos instantly?

I was just watching another of your videos, and had an idea - maybe not new, but I just thought of it -
when you sack out for the night, is there way, especially on those stormy nights, that you could set the GoPro on a timer, so that it would wake up every hour or so and record a few minutes of what was going on at that time? Or set up a trail cam aimed at the tent that would do the same thing? Might make for a neat effect!

Could you do like a top 10/tier list style countdown of your favorite tents or other gear you recommend or use. All "top 10 tents" videos are made by damn near ai generated channels that have not even tested the product.

What's the point of walking past a camera just to see you pass it numerous times???? Imo it makes no sense and adds nothing to a video and is a waste of time 😂😂😂
