I just took a "sneak peek" as I am at work. I work in pediatric healthcare with special needs children who are terminal. My job is so stressful and I am so grateful for this channel. I look forward to watching every Thursday evening to help me unwind and get my mind off the day. I enjoy listening to Luke crack himself up. The laughing is contagious. Luke and Susie are the best.😊 I love all the adventures you guys take and share with us!
I'm a few minutes into watching this and I swear the caption came up as "Hit the Luke Button" ... had to rewind to check my ole eyes were just seeing things. Thanks Luke, take good care.
I know this isn't a fear review, but thank you for clueing us all in on that Saw Tooth feather spreader of a bag you have. That issue is a deal breaker.
These are entertaining videos, beautifully filmed. When I watch, I suspect that you are outside somewhere camping in the cold, or finding out if a tent leaks. Thank you.
Hello Sir! I am from Brazil and I live in DuPont, WA. Love your videos. I am a writer and Linguist and I teach Portuguese Language for the Special Forces. Every night I have a bowl of popcorn and watch you on the channel before going to bed. Thank you so much. My dad was a cowboy so I grew up with a lot of nice stories about Pantanal where dad used to go taking cattle on horseback. Long time ago. My grandsons who are 11 and 9 love you too. God bless you! Thank you! Strengh and Honor!
I always enjoy watching your videos. They have been entertaining and this latest one is no exception. I especially enjoy hearing you speak. There are regional dialects across the country with phrases brought over from whichever old country’s ancestors that are passed down to the younger generations. I imagine that the way I speak may be strange or interesting to others as I find yours interesting. I have heard both you and Susan saying “pouring the rain” and you said “pouring the snow” in this episode. I find phrases like that so interesting. I’ve never heard anyone say that before. Broadcast television has given all of us a general American dialect over the years.
He took one for the team on this one. We all know that 30's isn't terrible for a few hours but it seeps in!!!! He was out there for a long time. Great video.
Sure enjoy your camping 🏕️ Bring me back to old days best days of my life in that season . You must know your country from back of your hands .. awesome 👏 Do you fear any predators? Dont seem like you worry about any! Bravely and compassionate about being out in the real world of natural beauty is the best. You’re so at peace, As one in tune with Mother Nature
I’m so glad this video is on.About two hours ago I watched one where you did a two nighter and got two feet of snow. That was five years ago video. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
I LIKE this longer adventure. You selected an interesting mix of shelter, bedding, and fire sources. The big tarp and comfortable chair made things work.
Evening all from accross the pond here in the UK 🇬🇧 lukes released a new video can only mean 1 thing coffee time & chill & sit back & enjoy the video 😊
That is interesting about the watch and knife side selection. I am a lefty but have grown up doing some things right handed, so I like my knives on the left but the watch could be on either hand and doesn't bother me. What a cool trip, thanks Luke!
Aren't you afraid of the dark, no protection at all, and all the wild animals roaming at night ? And by the way I just love the music at the beginning and end of your videos. Take care.
Just to answer your question, there is nothing out there to be afraid of. I’ve spent months of nights in the woods. You only might get freaked out the first night, after that it’s no big deal. For me I personally like to set up in the far northern Minnesota, BWCA, 30 miles away from any roads or people. It’s awesome knowing you need to survive with what you have with you. Animals only want your food, they want nothing to do with you. Hang your food high and you will be fine.
Luke, your photography has gotten so beautiful! This just jumped out at me this trip. Rain dripping off pine needles, on tent, etc. just beautiful! Keep growing in that direction. Wonderful video! I’m in eastern n.c. Loved your videos for many years now.
Hi there Luke, thanks so much for keeping this channel going over the years. I am enjoying the scenic, narration free vids, as well. Please pass on regards to Susie. She is looking so well and a picture of glowing health in the few photos I have seen lately and in her video with the paisley Coleman. All the best from sub-tropical Australia.
you did it the right way -roof over the top, plastic liner and foam pad underneath and sleeping bag ( rated to expected temperatures ) even at these temperatures ( -2 C ) it gets very cold without these items ( minimum ) I tried camping in my back yard with just 2 tarps ( -3 C ) light snow light wind and found out it can't be done you need that foam pad. underneath and also blanket/ sleeping bag good thing learned my lesson in backyard
Thank you for the tent/tarp answer. Now it makes sense. Re the watch/wrist issue, the tradition of wearing your watch on the non-dominant wrist is purportedly to protect the watch from damage during activity from your more hard-working hand. It’s not a rule. Up to you.
Interesting adventure! Thanks for posting! I really appreciate how you discuss the decisions you make and why. When they are not quite what I would do, I can go through, compare, and (often) reconsider my choices. You make pretty good points.
Luke, I have to say.... I really like the videos similar to this one that you are out there in the elements. Tent, Tarp, or just being out there. I am jealous... LOL
Best channel on TH-cam been a subscriber for years just love how Luke is never after sponsors keep up the great work and stay safe brother may god keep you safe on your travels
Luke, I get a lot of joy out of watching your adventures. 1 thing though, you have your Evernew DX stove upside down. When using with their spirit burner, the vented end goes up.
Enjoy your videos was very glad to see you put your meal on the log to pour water I have seen a couple of outdoor channels hold the bag and pour boiling water while shaking. I've done that once and you will never forget what boiling water does to your skin.
Love to see you start up a Camp TV/fire and set up a grill or tripod over it to cook yourself a real meal of steak/meat of some sort and veggies etc. like most of us would just to have a warm fire to sit by instead of freezing our butts off trying to stay warm eating dubious MRE's I can't wear fingerless gloves, my fingers freeze holding a cold can of pop lol.
Flip the pulls all the way up and out of the way pinch the slide between your fingers and pull it closed that way. Your fingers will keep it from getting caught on the lining or the shell.
Don't Y'all just LOVE the smell of snowy weather? I remember the smell of the snow on my woolen mittens/gloves, still and I'm an old lady now. "They" say that our sense of smell evokes emotions/memories more strongly than any of our other senses and it's true. Same goes for animals.
Thanks for the adventure. Wouldn't mind some longer videos and many adventures are becoming a little redundant, but I still like them and will watch them. :) Cheers!
Luke, a toboggan? A toboggan is something you ride down a snow covered hill on. I had a shipmate back in my Navy days from Carolina, don't remember if it was North or South. He used to call stocking cap a toboggan. Havent heatd that in years. Great video hang in there brother. Mike from Maine, the land of toboggans.
Good video there Luke I live up here in Southwest Pennsylvania about 45 miles south west of Pittsburgh. And up here I got maybe 6 inches on this last storm but today it was up in the 60s so there’s very little snow left I’m hoping there’s another big snowstorm that we will get, because I got a campsite on top of my hill and I want to test out some things up there. Keep up the good work buddy.
I am so jealous of your adventure. I love snow under a tarp. Excellent videography, as usual. Always enjoy your videos. Some day, you need to make a 2 hour movie for theaters!
When I lived in Maryland and was young, I always liked the wet snow. You can't make snowballs with dry snow. Now that I'm in the eastern area in North Carolina, we don't get so much snow. It's been several years since we've had snow, which is sad to me because I always loved snow. It makes the most beautiful scenery.
Those were definitely the most un-camping matches I have ever seen on TH-cam at 11.19. Reminds me of my childhood making fires. Nothing fancy. Just have to know how to do it. Diesel soaked paper in my case always got things going. Paying attention to conditions, watching animals, looking at the colour of the sky, noticing the wind, noticing how you feel. Very good advice. It takes experience of being outdoors a lot. I often think people who live in urban areas all their life are quite vulnerable and this is often why they get into trouble when going out into the great outdoors.
Let's be honest here about his housing. He loosely fashioned a tent with the way he put up the tarp. Yeah, it could be argued that because he didn't stake the sides tight to the ground, but look at how many tents he has tested that didn't have floors and there was a decent height gap around the perimeter of those tents. So, sorry, but, Luke you are under a tent .... of a sort.
Thank god !! This time a bit less of 100’s of bags, zips opening, load of colourful gadgets , packing and unpacking, product reveals in woods. A bit refreshing !!
I have to say too is that you have the "coolest'" Amazon gear list that I've seen yet, and it's all great stuff. What really caught my eye was the alcohol stove system. A real departure from building a wood fire or hiking in a bunch of propane/butane gear.
Another great adventure! Thank you . I usually don't trust weather forcasters. You don't see too many that are on point. Although there are a few out there who get it close...
I liked your camping.🏕️ I enjoy camping in Japan, too.🇯🇵 I have not camped on rainy and snowy day.☔️☃️ You have high technique and knowledge.✨ I learned most from you.😊 Your video gave me a hint! I appreciate splendid camping.☺️
Hey Luke 👋 I'm not that much of a 'commenter' , but I just have to say that the intro to this video was freaking awesome! I love it! I don't know if you put as much time and thought into it as it looks but IMO this is the best intro ever ❤!
Great pictures, beautiful setting. Bustin' out the UL stuff bags & the chair...nice! That's how I like camping too. The tent gets a bit confining. I like some of those tarps, say MLD has one & the Warbonnett Thunderfly: where the ends are tapered a bit for the snow, and no doors or zips. There's a Nemo First Lite Tarp that looks good too.
Luke out forecasts the NWS once again. @35:35 that alarm tone is interesting. Not exactly a zen way to wake up. 😎 Thanks for sharing your experiences!!

God bless you and all those little ones. Thank you for all you do
More power to you and stay healthy and safe.
God bless and keep you and all those in your care .
Thank you for helping these little angels.
It’s a retired special needs teacher and I understand. It’s very stressful but what you do is so important. Thanks for doing what you do.
I’ll never be brave enough to camp in the woods alone, but that’s why you’re here. Love your videos!
The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Don't let fear hinder your ability to live.
Since my health has gone downhill quickly your channel has given me the push I needed to keep going and try and get back to camping
I'm in the same boat as you.
I hope your health hasn't slipped as far as mine
@@charlesnovotny4801 Probably not, I wish you well.
I also wish you well
DO IT!!!!!!
I'm a few minutes into watching this and I swear the caption came up as "Hit the Luke Button" ... had to rewind to check my ole eyes were just seeing things. Thanks Luke, take good care.
Boy that alarm would put me in a sour mood real fast.I like a softer alarm.
This is how music to a video should be done! Simply outstanding!!!
I know this isn't a fear review, but thank you for clueing us all in on that Saw Tooth feather spreader of a bag you have. That issue is a deal breaker.
I gotta say - the cello / piano duet is one of the best parts of the vid - truly classic!
These are entertaining videos, beautifully filmed. When I watch, I suspect that you are outside somewhere camping in the cold, or finding out if a tent leaks. Thank you.
Glad it turned out so great for you. Fairly comfortable and easy with the tarp and cowboy sleeping arrangement.
Hello Sir! I am from Brazil and I live in DuPont, WA. Love your videos. I am a writer and Linguist and I teach Portuguese Language for the Special Forces. Thank you! Strengh and Honor!
Ty Luke love all the videos along with 45:56 my 13 grandson... Tom and Mason ps tell Susan and the kidos we love them too...
Hi Luke!: That was a great adventure! Glad you had fun, we did!
I completely agree on the watch! I am right handed and I only wear my watch ⌚ on my right arm! I can't stand anything on my left arm either! ❤❤❤
I like the silent parts: just showing the stove & making coffee, collecting branches, the fire. Great cinematography.
Do you know he has a separate channel for non-speaking adventures? Its called A Quiet Place Adventure, I think. Just nature sounds
Thanks Luke for sharing your fantastic adventures with us all. Stay Safe and Happy ❤

Hello from Romania. I.m watching you since 2019. Great to see how much your community has grown. Keep it up!
I can't believe that's your alarm.
I thought I was getting an amber alert in the middle of this super fun video. Thanks, Luke.
He took one for the team on this one. We all know that 30's isn't terrible for a few hours but it seeps in!!!! He was out there for a long time. Great video.
I can’t imagine that instant coffee tastes as good as you say.
Sure enjoy your camping 🏕️
Bring me back to old days best days of my life in that season . You must know your country from back of your hands .. awesome 👏

Luke, it's MUCH better with a properly insulated hammock!
😊
Hammock (in hammock hot tent) next week for me! New Hampshire, here I come!
What’s it like if the wind picks up?
Northern WI-getting gear ready for the season-in about a month or so. The music for this episode is the best! Love you guys!
Looks kinda chilly out there, stay warm Brother.
Hey, from western Washington state. Been watching for years. Thank you for what you do.
👍🏼
Im watching from England also. Coffee under a tarp when its cold would be a touch of heaven
That storm warnings reminded me of the UK. Our storm warnings are always over the top and never are as bad as promised.
Hi Luke looking forward to watching your video😊
That is interesting about the watch and knife side selection. I am a lefty but have grown up doing some things right handed, so I like my knives on the left but the watch could be on either hand and doesn't bother me. What a cool trip, thanks Luke!

I was all excited looking forward to the morning reveal of feathers, sadly I didn’t see a single one. 😅
Another Fantastic adventure!
A lot of fun. Especially great to see another way to camp in colder weather.

Man this intro gave me chills 😮
It made me shudder . . .
It was the first ever shocked my dog (and me too)
Enjoy your videos was very glad to see you put your meal on the log to pour water I have seen a couple of outdoor channels hold the bag and pour boiling water while shaking. I've done that once and you will never forget what boiling water does to your skin.

Thanks Luke I appreciate this video so much man keep up the good work ❤️💯😅👍
wow been awhile since we last saw an adventure with you camping without a tent hope there more to come.
Love the content Luke thanks buddy
Hopefully we can get some snow here in eastern NC this winter.
This video was a wild ride! Thanks for documenting such a unique and potentially dangerous experience. It was both thrilling and educational.
Flip the pulls all the way up and out of the way pinch the slide between your fingers and pull it closed that way. Your fingers will keep it from getting caught on the lining or the shell.
kudos Luke, I mean during winter most of the ground bugs are dormant but man, it takes courage to sleep so close to the ground.
Thanks Luke, I had a great time spending time with you out there in the woods and the elements.
:) Cheers!
Thanks for sharing another great and awesome video Luke. The scenery was beautiful. You never disappoint.😊
All the weather channels/apps are hyping the weather on a regular basis, IMO. Good video!
Luke, a toboggan? A toboggan is something you ride down a snow covered hill on. I had a shipmate back in my Navy days from Carolina, don't remember if it was North or South. I love your coffee ritual! Everybody should have a simple process like that they look forward to and enjoy.
i love your cinematic style of filming!
"look at it, now respect it!" Lol. Love it.
I always enjoy yr videos
Thank you for another video. ❤
You can tell by the way you say " my brother" with such an idolizing tone that he is probably most definitely older than you. So cute😊
I am so jealous of your adventure. I love snow under a tarp. Excellent videography, as usual. Always enjoy your videos. Some day, you need to make a 2 hour movie for theaters!
Such perfect setting for this adventure😊
I love these adventures the best. Hope you get the storm you wanted soon but at the same time stay safe!
Hello Luke just watch your video very good you do great job on your videos I have been watching your second channel I like it very good 👍👍👍👍

So excited!!! Looking forward to watching your adventure Luke!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Now this is the kind of camping I like to see.tarp and bedroll doesn't get any better than that. Awesome outing luke love to see more of this.

@stevenensminger5737 I like that you said 'the kind of camping I like to SEE.' 😊
My daughter has discovered fall/ winter camping. No crowds or bugs. Plus her shepherd husky mix is the ultimate thermal blanket.
Thank god !! This time a bit less of 100’s of bags, zips opening, load of colourful gadgets , packing and unpacking, product reveals in woods. A bit refreshing !!
Loved the video as always. That alarm though! 😂
Really enjoyed this video, you kept us the viewers entertained so youve earned yourself a subscriber, thanks for the upload 👍
I have to say too is that you have the "coolest'" Amazon gear list that I've seen yet, and it's all great stuff. What really caught my eye was the alcohol stove system. A real departure from building a wood fire or hiking in a bunch of propane/butane gear.
I just love these videos - after a long day of work, come home and watch these in bed! They are one of the few highlights in my week.
Another great adventure! Thank you . I usually don't trust weather forcasters. You don't see too many that are on point. Although there are a few out there who get it close...
Hey Luke your campsite surprise me you use a tarp without a tent, but it worked out for you great job
I love tents under a tarp, could practically live year round in it.
I liked your camping.🏕️
I enjoy camping in Japan, too.🇯🇵
I have not camped on rainy and snowy day.☔️☃️
You have high technique and knowledge.✨
I learned most from you.😊
Your video gave me a hint!
I appreciate splendid camping.☺️
One thing I found to make a cool cold evening is..
Dry clean socks..after hiking..undershirt..ect..if possible.
JMO 😊
you had the alcohol stove upside down. Operates better the other way around. Lol
Hey Luke 👋 I'm not that much of a 'commenter' , but I just have to say that the intro to this video was freaking awesome! I love it! I don't know if you put as much time and thought into it as it looks but IMO this is the best intro ever ❤!
Super excited for this, I love these vids it's so relaxing. Thank you Luke 😊
Luke if you want snow,we have 15 inches here in Iowa city area! I am ready for spring,I have snow up to the top of my mailbox!
Love to see a budget clothing episode. Cheap clothes, boots, knockoff watch. Love these videos though!
I like those bathtub inserts or foam pads maybe for the ground. I thought about that Kuiu insert for tent & bathtub. Six moons, Hyperlite...they all have similar. There's a Nemo First Lite Tarp that looks good too.
Loved it! Such beautiful country with a soft layer of snow.
Between you and Steve. Great way to put my mind as I'm there to help me wind down and go to sleep.
Luke, you should do a knot tying video. I always screw up. You are so cool. I always wait for a new video.
Love your adventures Luke, thank you for them.
Luke out forecasts the NWS once again.
@35:35 that alarm tone is interesting. Not exactly a zen way to wake up. 😎
Thanks for sharing your experiences!!
Boy that looks cold, I have to put a coat and woolly hat on just to watch you outdoors! 😂
