    I honestly didn't think I could sit through 50 mins of ordnance painting and detailing but as always with the Doog touch it's all golden. Excellent work there! Can't wait for episode 3 with the cockpit. Excited!

    Matt, always appreciate your absolute dedication to detail. Even the swap from Insignia White to U.S. Navy White shows a level of craftsmanship we all strive for. Pepper in a few “sentence enhancers” (swearing is half the fuckin’ battle) and there we have my favorite modeling channel on TH-cam. Really looking forward to more installments in this build.

    Appreciate the in depth comments regarding the Mk-83 and fin fit. We'll definitely take a look at the CAD and see where adjustments need to be made.

    Hey Matt, some mighty fine precision work you got going on there with the ordnance. What size needle/nozzle combination are you using there in your airbrush?

    • @DoogsModels

      The 771 has a .18mm needle

    Matt, Awesome series! What type/size of wire do you use to pin the ordinance to the racks? I’m building the same kit and following along 😊

    Excellent! What is the black CA you use for the wire pins?

    • @DoogsModels
      @DoogsModels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ammo slow-dry black CA. It's become my favorite CA since it has a longish working time and it sands out better than others.

  • @battlefr0g

    Hey Matt, been watching your work for a bit now and I really like how you go about your craft, attention to detail, callouts and last but not least your colorful commentary. One thing I haven't been able to discern though is why you choose which airbrush for a particular job. In this video you use 2 different brushes for priming and 2 different for painting. For instance, using the PS-267(.2) for priming racks but PS-290(.5) for priming bombs. Then PS-267(.2) for painting LAU3 Pods and launcher rails followed by the PS-771(.18) for LT Gull Gray on same launcher rails. Can you shed some light on which brush you choose for what and why?

    • @DoogsModels
      @DoogsModels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can try to spell it out as I'm working, but for these in particular:
      Priming the racks - PS-267 - lots of nooks and crannies to get into and I wanted a more controlled spray than the PS-290 is really good at.
      Priming the bombs - PS-290 - didn't thin the primer as much in order to build it over the 3D layer lines, and you can get away with that with the 290's larger needle.
      Pylons and launcher rails - PS-771 - had to work tight and close to avoid overspraying the metallic portions of the AAM rails

    Matt, do you have a recommendation for a "hydraulic" color to streak the underside of my Tamiya F4B build? It is something of a reddish/purple tone but not orange...

    Hi Matt, hope you had a great vacation and a lot of quality time. Is there a difference between semi flat you used and semi gloss? I thought they were both satin. Thank you.

    • @DoogsModels
      @DoogsModels  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So if you think of sheen on a scale of 1-100, with 1 being the absolute deadest flat and 100 being the glossiest gloss, semi-gloss is more like a 70 and semi-matte is more like a 30.
