There is a wartime photo of a Mosquito that had flown through a fireball burning off most of the paint to reveal the wood underneath. Now that would look awesome
As someone who really likes the look of the Gerat anyway, and loves your modelling work, this combined with it being a huge kit is a heck of a combo! Looking forward to seeing how this goes!
I started modeling at the beginning of last year and watching your videos has made the quality of my builds skyrocket. Love the videos and appreciate the work and dedication you have for the craft! 😎
@@Pint-Painters The BIS lunar lander, a space ship designed for a lunar stay of 2 weeks for 3 men. It wouldn’t be dainty or flimsy like the actual lunar module, it’d be the sort of thing you can bang your fist on. Plenty of rivets to pin wash, plenty of interior detail to add. Here’s a nice picture of the schematic: pbs.twimg.com/media/D1KcXeIW0AAiYBf.jpg
You've probably been asked to do this a bajillion times already, but I'd *love* to see you tackle a Warhammer tank kit, while applying all the cool superdetailed modelling tricks and such! I think it'd turn out beautifully. Love your work!
Great! You're back Uncle. Fantastic modelling. Love the way you sand, fill and surface your projects, super inspiring for us mere modelling mortals. Canit wait to see the painting.
I've just started working on a 1/43.5 scale model of one of the few guns even bigger than this - Schwerer Gustav. It is only after I finished 3D printing all the parts for the gun did I realise the completed model won't fit on my current workbench - the construction could be interesting!
Your skill is very impressive especially like your dioramas, where you build walls etc. Learned so much, when I modeled wish I'd known some of the thinks you do, outstanding!
As usual with your works 'amazing' and thank you for your ideas for the rivets and many more Congratulations from a Spanish 🇪🇸 Swiss🇨🇭 modeler living in France near Switzerland 🇨🇭
Martin, I've been watching your tutorials for over 2 yrs now and have learned so much and I thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent. I've been a modeler since 1971. Fell out of the hobby long enough to be surprised at the various tools, aftermarket parts, and supplies that are now available. Watching your videos helps me utilize those products properly to turn out a fine project. Soon I'll be building my first ever Tiger. Any suggestions for a manufacturer would be helpful. ( leaning towards purchasing a kit by Takom) Again, I thank you for sharing and I certainly look forward to watching more of your talents expressed on TH-cam.
Great looking build! I've been binging on your videos daily and re-watching the same ones multiple times. Your amazing work inspired me to take a break from aircraft modeling and start building tanks. I've learned so much from your techniques, thank you!
When you mentioned something big in the last video, I was betting it'll be propably 1:16 model. But this, this is way more impressive even. I'm super curious how you balance painting such huge model with your attention to detail.
100% worth the wait! This is an absolute unit of a kit, I can see why it took a while to build, it looks great. This would turn into a monster of a diorama, can’t wait!
what an awesome beast to build! and perfect timing too, seeing as i JUST got my Karl kit just last week. really looking forward to seeing the monster getting paint
Hi my friend. Very nice work in this Morser. I made this kit from Trumpeter many years ago and it is a very good model but needs careful work. Keep up your great work.
Good to see you back! I knew you were coming back with a big model, and was surprised it wasn't the new 1/16 M4A3E8 Sherman by Andy's Hobby Headquarters. Would love to see you tackle that kit!
That's not a build. It's an obstacle course. Well done, Martin. A brutal beast of a kit. About those weird welds on the lower hull. They're called plug welds. From a comment on the Battleship New Jersey channel: "The welded up holes are called plug welds, they're actually pretty common in extremely high stress applications as not even a modern weld on modern steel is always strong enough to resist high torsion or shear loadings, which plug welds can significantly improve." Cheers.
I feel this at 14:50. I fill gaps and paint little details only to cover them up completely. Nobody will ever look or if they did, notice, but *I* would know and every time I looked at the model, it would eat at me, that gaping line swallowing my attention, destroying everything the model could have been….so I cover them up.
If you see this, THANK YOU…. I am currently building a 72 x 40 wall map of the world from a company called “enjoy the wood.” The map is cool and i am using little pylons I cut out of wood. I was worried about how to sand all of them down and your tip about putting the wheels on a drill bit worked!!! It turned like a 3 hour sanding job into about 30-35 minutes. I’ll try to post a video in a while when it’s done and I’ll give you thanks again and credit for the sanding tip!! Haha. Wahoooooo🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I made a movie in Slovakia called “Behind Enemy Lines” in 2000, worked with some great Slovak modellers - you, my friend are absolutely world-class❤ congratulations on your amazing work 🇸🇰
I had seen this kit on the shelf's and pondered weather to grab one . I figured it would not be too big for the model shelf. After seeing your build I think I will pass on it ! I'll stick with the Hobbyboss 1/72 Dora ( yeh ,right ). Your builds are perfect as always my friend ! Cheers.
Very nice work! I'm currently building the early Karl mortar with the rail transport carriages. It's a huge beast of a thing and nearly 90cm long all up. I'm a glutton for punishment as I am also building a BR-52 steam locomotive to go with it!
Okay, I've been watching the channel for awhile now and as usual I am totally blown away by your work. I used to do a fair amount of modeling, mostly planes and 1/25 scale autos. Can anyone on this site recommend a Sherman tank model with good detail but simple enough that it won't frustrate the crap out of a senior citizen?
Nice. That's definitely a big boy. Currently building a T'au Storm Surge for my 40k army. My sons were all griping at me because they thought it wasn't fair for them to field their knights when they played me because they generally won. Personally it's a cool model with a LOT of room for personalizing. And I was out of WW2 models for my Bolt Action armies. Yay shipping delays or outright lost/stolen in transit.
Bloody hell, this thing is a monster! A very impressive monster, even! Makes me think of the 2A3 Kondensator I have still sitting in my stash, waiting...
I dont actually build military kits, mostly sci fi, tabletop, and scratchbuilds. I watch these because I like your realism. However the tin foil rivets are a brilliant idea too. So thanks for that.
this reminds me of that Soviet 2a3 Kondensator you teased a couple years back. Please build it I would love to see you scratch build little all the wires on that tank,
I find it quite funny how this model alone is as big as my biggest diorama 🗿
Anyway the level of details and realism is already incredible 🔥
If he does a diorama of this I'd have to watch it thrice just to believe he did it.
Hi
Still ready every Friday for the new video! 😁 It just keeps getting better and better :)
Ah, the comforting joy that is a new Night Shift video, it's Friday night, and time to relaaaaaaxx...
Build a plane kit. It would be awesome!
Only if he weathers it like he does tank models. Mud caked around the wheels, copious amounts of Grease, and tons of weathering.
There is a wartime photo of a Mosquito that had flown through a fireball burning off most of the paint to reveal the wood underneath. Now that would look awesome
*_N O !_*
But in all seriousness, he’s stated that he doesn’t want to because it’s not his style.
no
Honestly, I build more planes than anything, though I obviously love vehicles, figures, and ships. A Night Shift aircraft would be brilliant!
I like how the wheels-up for travelling error implies the mortar slid along on its belly like an otter in the snow
It's a good day when Uncle Nightshift drops a video!
Firstly, that would look simply beautiful in a big diorama on the steppes!
Secondly, I have a suggestion for, perhaps a scratch build project…
What

@@cravinghibiscus7901 Fair enough, But I think the BIS one is more practical, despite being more than 40 foot tall

Would love to see him do a Leman Russ or, even better, a Basilisk
Michtoy is my regular store. Love seeing them advertised on my favorite channel!
Finally a new video from Martin. I missed it.
Ahh...a fellow Blitzkrieg enjoyer, i also really liked that game.

I always feel threatened in a way when he shows his "very bad 16 year old kits"...
Oh my life!!!! Just stunning Martin!!! The kit looks wonderful, the work you put in to it superb and the quality of the finish awesome!!👏👏👏👏👏👏

Welcome to a new year... please keep up the excellent modeling!!
Wow, that mortar is really going over the top.
Impressive work once again.
As mentioned, it truly is three entire kits rolled into one. I am really looking forward to the coming steps on this one!
Best start to the year possible
Happy New Year, Master. And thanks for bringing this Beast (tired of just looking at the work...)
This thing reminds me of my Imperial Gaurd Baneblade i assembled in scale. I used your armor texturing guide to make it apear more realistic
Brilliant - I've just purchased this myself!
super cool! I'm looking forward to the painting and weathering post.
great build, looking forward to the final result. tempted to pick this up to go with my 1/72 dora railway gun (hobby boss).
Happy New Year, Martin! That's some serious styrene you got there, muh friend! Looks awesome!
i never thought that uncle nightshift would buy this monstrosity!, good luck on this one man!
I love 1/35 scale for the amount of details. Looks really impressive.

And holy crap how have I never heard of these things before?
I have the Karl model, but I don't know who made it. It came in a plain box.
Iwill re-watch your video when I build it.
