This really bothers me… How dare Ron Hosko imply that the housekeeper’s husband (who is just as much a victim as the target family, as he lost his own wife in this tragedy) and the assistant are partially to blame for “missed opportunities.” Apparently he’s unaware of the dynamics of working on a billionaire’s house staff. Privacy and loyalty are imperative. Staff members don’t question the boss, nor do they hesitate to follow orders, regardless of how bizarre they may appear; and trust me, they’re often incredibly bizarre!

Yes. It's a little different, but when my daughters started school, we had a "family code word" that someone would have to provide to them if the person claimed to be at school to pick them up, get in a car, etc and I had not already told my girls about the arrangement.. My girls understood that even if it was someone they/we knew trying to get them to go with them IF I had not told them in advance this person would be picking them up from cheerleading, lacrosse practice, a Science Olympiad, meet, etc. since parents often car-pooled. Only once did I get a call because I had told one daughter that a classmate's mother would be bringing her home from practice but the father actually showed up. My daughter insisted on the code word because he was not the person she was expecting.

This is literally one of the worst crimes I've ever heard of and I heard about it when it 1st happened. As a true crime aficionado, I've read/listened to 1000s of cases, too. I started my true crime journey when I was 8 and I used to read the newspapers. The absolute brutality of this crime is mind-blowing..

If it was just greed then why didn't they ask for more money? Like the detectives said, they left money behind, expensive jewelry etc inside the house. Greed is a part of it I'm sure, but torturing a family, especially a little boy is something much more personal, and evil.

    I have so many questions.
The assistant didn’t think it was strange to drop off that amount of money in their vehicle? Had he ran errands like this before? The housekeeper received a text but didn’t actually speak with her boss when she called to confirm the text? Why didn’t she think to phone the police? Why didn’t the assistant call the police/FBI, if that wasn’t the norm for him? Very perplexing case. I’m so sorry for what this family went through at the hands of a demon spawn!
