    I honestly belive Kareem is one of the most underrated players ever. People barely mention him as a GOAT possibilty or top 5 player. Dude litteraly had an unstoppable shot,
    1st all time points in NBA history,
    1st total minutes played,
    1st total field goals,
    2nd games played,
    3rd total blocks,
    4th total rebounds,
    1st win shares,
    1st offensive win shares,
    3rd defensive win shares,
    6x NBA Champion,
    6x NBA MVP,
    19x All-Star,
    2x Finals MVP,
    2x Championships as a coach.

      he has the one move in NBA history thats unstoppable. The Skyhook. However, A. at the lakers he wasnt the number 1 guy it was magic B. in his prime Lakers Shaq was more of a force and a better player than Kareem and C. he doesnt have the athleticism that some of the nba big men have these days

    • @zombieapocolipse69
      @zombieapocolipse69 7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Tristan Turners Good points but Kareem didnt team up with magic till his 10th season. Kareem was strong enought to battle Wilt Chamberlin, at the age of 59 Wilt could bench press 465 pounds, more than prime Shaq could, Wilt blocked a guy and dislocated his shoulder only touching the ball. Hell Wilt broke someones toe upon dunking when the ball hit his foot. Kareem has unparaled stamina playing the most games and minutes in NBA history. In his Bucks years he was extreamly athletic for a big man combining speed, power and finesse greatee than Hakeem.

    • @kennyomegagoat5911
      @kennyomegagoat5911 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      zombieapocolipse69 i'm not denying their greatness i'm just saying that in Kareem's case when he was with the bucks he was the man, when he was with the lakers, he wasn't number 1 player. In Shaq's case wherever he went even in Laker years with kobe, he was the number 1 option

    • @zombieapocolipse69

      Anthony Secatero So Wilt, Willis reed, Hakeem, David Robinson, Shaq, Ewing, Nate Thurmond, Bill Walton, Bob Lainer, Mosses Malone, Artis Gilmore, Karl Malone. These are Big Men Kareem faced throught his career, ands ignoring the players at the other positions.

    You also have to remember that the Eastern conference was way tougher when Jordan was playing in the 80's and 90's compared to what Lebron was/is facing in the 00's and 10's... True Lebron played against a tough Celtics team for some years but Jordan was facing a much tougher Pistons, Celtics and Knicks teams who were all title contenders

      Bill Russell played 13years and his team was always reaching the top4.
      He won 11 rings at 12 finals
      He won a ring at his rookie year and a ring at his last year
      His last year-ring was a 7th game win in LA against Lakers.
      Those Lakers starting 5 included Wilt,Jerry West, Elgin Baylor....perhaps the greatest team not winning a ring in the history of NBA...unless you need some facts to 'bask; these players'greatness
      He won back2back titles with this college team ,not a famous one with a huge basketball tradition but with a shitty unknown one...and that college after his departure never ever even made it again...
      That same guy has the FinalsMVP trophy named after him(wonder why??)
      He never choked during finals
      On the other side MJ never ver beat Larry's Cletics
      As a matter of fact when Larry was healthy he even did it to the bulls 9-0 in a single season...lol
      MJ never won Dr.J's 76ers
      MJ never won Kareem's Lakers
      MJ never won the whole Bad Boys Pistons, not the ones that had lost so many players later(including Rick Mahorn,Micheal Williams etc)
      Well when Kareem,Dr.J,Larry retired and Bad boys actually disintegrated...MJ won a league full of shitty teams

    One thing I think you do have to take into consideration is the level of play in the eastern conference during their careers. Throughout LeBron's career, the eastern conference has not been nearly as competitive as it was during Jordan's career, thus making it much easier for him to have more finals appearances. If it was the same in Jordan's case, he probably would have 10 championships.

    i think jordan will always be the best basketball player to ever play the game. however, i think lebron runs away with being the most skilled player to be on a court. jordan would never let jj barea and jason terry shut him down in a game, or even an entire series, but lebron has already been to the finals more times than jordan in his entire career. jordan's the best scorer of all time, lebron is arguably the most skilled and intelligent player ever.

    LeBron will never surpass Jordan, that Dallas series was the deciding factor.
    1991 - 31.2 points 6.6 rebounds 11.4 assists 1.4 blocks 2.8 steals
    1992 - 35.8 points 4.8 rebounds 6.5 assists 1.7 steals 0.3 blocks
    1993 - 41.0 points 8.5 rebounds 6.3 assists 0.7 blocks 1.7 steals
    1996 - 27.3 points 5.3 rebounds 4.2 assists 1.7 steals 0.2 blocks 41% (WORST Finals, got outplayed by Payton in some games and shot HORRIBLY)
    1997 - 32.3 points 7.0 rebounds 6.0 assists 1.2 steals 0.8 blocks
    1998 - 33.5 points 4.0 rebounds 2.3 assists 1.8 steals 0.7 blocks
    He averaged a career 33.6 points 6.0 rebounds 6.0 assists 1.8 steals & 0.7 blocks on 48% shooting. Michael Jordan played 13 full seasons and played six NBA Finals winning all of them.. His 41.0 points per game in 1993 is still an NBA Finals record.
    LeBron on the other hand.
    2007 - 22.0 points 7.0 rebounds 6.8 assists 1.0 steals 0.5 blocks
    2011 - 17.8 points 7.2 rebounds 5.2 assists 0.2 steals 0.5 blocks (gets outplayed by Jason Terry in his PRIME)
    2012 - 28.6 10.2 rebounds 7.4 assists 1.6 steals 0.4 blocks
    2013 - 25.3 points 10.9 rebounds 7.0 assists 2.3 steals 0.8 blocks
    2014 - 28.2 points 7.8 rebounds 4.0 assists 1.6 steals 0.4 blocks (gets outplayed by Kawhi games 3-5)
    2015 - 35.8 points 13.3 rebounds 8.8 assists 1.3 steals 0.5 blocks on 39% shooting. (Almost single handedly took down the Warriors)
    2016 - 29.7 points 11.3 rebounds 8.9 assists 2.6 steals 2.3 blocks on 49% shooting. (Leads both team in every major statistic)
    LeBron is close, but there is WAY to many stains on his resume for him to be better than Jordan.
    Unless something DRASTIC happens then I just don't see him passing Jordan.

    • @AtodaZ23
      @AtodaZ23 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I hear you but like Mike(lol) said, it isn't just about the Finals. Why is it so hard to believe that if LeBron matches him in championships and MVPs while also surpassing him in points, rebounds and assists in the regular season AND playoffs that he can be the GOAT?
      Jordan may very well have some seasons better than LBJ, but career wise probably not. And that's the point Mike is trying to make. Some people act like it isn't possible AT ALL. Well I disagree, it definitely is possible. We should be wanting for LBJ to strive to be the GOAT, that means we get to see him do it. That means more legendary fucking basketball for us. I also wanting Kobe to do it but he unfortunately fell short. Now it's LeBron's turn to do it. And he has a very good chance imo.

    • @chiefsolo6013
      @chiefsolo6013 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jay Jay Because the only thing that will matter at the end is the finals performances and Jordan has never choked in the biggest stage and never had to take a backseat like LeBron did to Wade in the 2011 finals, it's not about the career totals because obviously if it was we'd be calling Kareem GOAT and not Jordan, Jordan destroys Kareem in scoring but Kareem has scored more in TOTAL. That's just a little sample of what I'm trying to explain, LeBron has to do something drastic for people to forget the Dallas series, he also played HORRIBLE in the 2007 finals and he played even worse in 2011, his 2015 was AMAZING but people tend to forget that he shot 39%, I'm not nitpicking but I just had to bring this out there.

    • @AtodaZ23
      @AtodaZ23 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Isaiah Thomas Like I said before, I hear you. The points you make are very solid. But LeBron has the chance to surpass him in ALL stats. Not just scoring or rebounds. All of them. Regular season and playoffs. That should be a big factor imo. That means LeBron was great for a longer period of time. The fact that he came straight out of high school is also impressive as fuck. That means he was NBA ready at a younger age than MJ, so don't give me that argument as a flaw or unfair compared to MJ.
      I believe that LBJ will reach 5 more Finals and wins 3 more rings. That means he would be 6 of 12 in the Finals for his career. That also should be fucking admired instead of bashed. That means he will have more success in the playoffs than Jordan. Why would that be a flaw? Yes Jordan was 6 for 6 but that means he only made it 6 times. LeBron will probably double him in that. Let me lay it all down for you, if LeBron does this, he'd be the GOAT in my eyes:
      6 championship
      10+ Finals appearances
      5-6 MVPs
      5-6 FMVPs
      more playoffs and season points than MJ
      more playoffs and season rebounds than MJ
      more playoffs and season assists than MJ
      more playoffs and season steals than MJ
      more playoffs and season blocks than MJ
      continues to beat these all time great teams
      If he that all that, he's the GOAT. And he has a very good chance to do all of that. For now he's top 3, only Kareem and MJ are above him imo.

    • @chiefsolo6013
      @chiefsolo6013 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jay Jay If LeBron does all that then he's undoubtedly the GOAT but I don't see him winning 3 more rings, that's just me though, I see him maybe getting 4-5 but you're correct it's impressive because he was NBA ready at a earlier age but Jordan has faced harder teams with different rules, but the stats won't matter as much since it's neck and neck, LeBron just needs the awards and accolades to be considered better than Jordan.
      I see LeBron finishing with 1-2 more rings 1-2 more FMVPs and 1 more MVP and a couple of all star appearances. LeBron still has a good 7 years to get all of those, but 5 more finals appearances isn't realistic to ME, because as he ages he won't be able to impact the game as he is doing right now, also there are a lot of Western and Eastern conference teams that are on the come up.

    • @AtodaZ23
      @AtodaZ23 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Isaiah Thomas That's the thing though. If he doesn't achieve all that, he won't be the greatest in EVERYONE's eyes. What I said was him being undoubtedly the GOAT. But even if he reaches 4 instead of 5 more Finals, that still would be more than 10 in total. And if he wins two of those he'd have 5 rings. He still would be the greatest imo and all lot more peoples opinion. Him getting one less ring would not outweigh him surpasses MJ in all stats you know what I mean?
      And I could argue with you about who had the tougher competition, but that would be too much typing lol. They have had equal tough competition imo. Jordan had it tougher before the Finals (arguably) and LBJ has it tougher in the Finals(also arguably). And I could also argue with you about the difference between hand check defense in the 90s and zone defense now but again, too much typing. I feel like you aren't the person to bash LeBron for playing in this era instead of the 90s. Let's just hope LeBron plays out of his mind and becomes even more legendary, because that would be more entertainment for us.

    People forget about the era. Stats are not everything. The era is probably the most important out of them all. It could turn a superstar into a regular player. Just pointing out, not straight facts. He said his "projections" which means it's only a possibility and a guess. Plus he said he could play 21 total seasons. Out of over 3,100 NBA players in history, only 2, Robert parish and Kevin Willis ever played an actual 21 seasons. That's a 0.06% of all NBA players to reach 21 years. To assume Lebron will reach that is not realistic. That's pure hope from the god of youth to make that happen. So no, the whole argument is not completely factual or feasible really. 21 seasons is an extreme number. Take away 2 seasons then that's more realistic. And that's also saying he has near 0 serious injuries to contend with. Again, with Father Time, guessing someone at 6'8 is going to play 21 seasons and have no serious injuries where he would miss a year, is almost completely unreachable.

    Why don't you also take into account the teams that both Jordan and LeBron faced in their own conferences? • @Wabbajaxe
      @Wabbajaxe 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Don't get me wrong, I like your videos, but to only take into account the success a player garners to be the GOAT is pretty iffy. • @HitBattousai
    @HitBattousai 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Mike, as others have said, Jordan played in a far tougher Eastern Conference throughout his entire career, he didn't leave Chicago to join a super team twice, and Lebron has simply had lesser highs and far lower lows than Jordan over his career. There's no 2011 Finals debacle for Jordan where he played massively subpar and cost his team a Finals series as Lebron has. Nor has there ever been a perception of Jordan personally wilting under pressure in clutch moments or giving up in games as with Lebron. On the highs, Jordan has a Finals series where he hit a buzzer beater game winner, a game-clinching three, and assisted on the game clincher....and it's probably his 4th best Finals. Lebron doesn't have any of that, among many other things he lacks in comparison. He has the potential to pass Jordan on volume stats but if you're making that argument to proclaim Lebron's career better, you could make it for other great players like Kareem who is tough to beat on volume. Don't get me wrong, Lebron is one of the best ever. But I find it highly unlikely that he will do enough to pass Jordan in the public eye or in the eyes of NBA historians.

Dont care how it was done.. it was legendary not to mention the fact that prior to that championship the cavs had a 52 years drought ............

    Lebron is losing points because he has always played in the east which has been weak. During michaels time he had to get past the Celtics, Bad Boy Pistons, the vet 76ers,and the Bulldog Knicks. Who has lebron had to play in east when he was young? No one really mentionable until 08 celtics. Then soon after he had to leave and go to the Heat beacause Cleveland couldnt build a team around him. All im saying is lebron didnt have as much competition in the east. In the 80s and 90s the west was considered the weak conference. Those 4 loses. Just ask yourself this question "would Jordan, Wade, and Bosh lose to the Mavericks. hell no! would Jordan, Wade, and Bosh lose to the Spurs. Hell no!" -Stephan A. Smith, someone who is critical of everyone and actually watched Jordan.

      shut up Besteva lol Jordan never beat a team in their prime.
      07, 13, 14 Spurs, 2012 Thunder, and 2015 and 2016 Warriors are all WAY better than ANY team Jordan ever beat. Yeah, LeBron didn't actually beat the '15 warriors, but that's not his fault at all, he put up god tier numbers. Case in point, this is a tired argument made by nostalgic kids who believe everything idiots like Skip Bayless tell them.

He probably would of been better off in the west mature him into a different kind of player he's to strong for the east only the big three celtics were a problem so he's never had to much struggle. That finals lebron against the warriors would be everyday lebron if he was in the wast since he would have higher chances of losing which could make him play better.
      But that's just my opinion i like his game and always will no matter where he plays.

    Highly doubt even the NBA will allow LeBron to catch another MVP award.. They worship MJ just as much as anyone. And LeBron's award fatigue is real in the game.. Smh he'd had to put up his recent playoff numbers the whole year for them to give it to him.. I don't see it

    • @TheHaas123
      @TheHaas123 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jay Kelz he can't win it. He's too old to put up numbers like that while still sharing the ball with Kyrie and love and everyone. He can't get numbers higher than curry Westbrook kawhi and durant

      @jaykelz1528 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      768supersonic Well I don't know man be just did it to win the finals and shared quite much.. He's paced himself the last 3 season runs and it wasn't because of age, it was because of prioritizing his energy. He knows how to win MVP, he even got robbed of one. But his priority is the 'chip. But I think he could give it one more great season and win it. Just doubt he'd do it knowing the playoffs are getting tougher

    I find that in some of your videos you are biased, you include things that argue in favor of Lbj, but leave out others that would be in favor of MJ. You forgot to mention who they had to face, MJ had to face JOHN STOCKTON AND KARL MALONE!!! That Utah Jazz team would dominate today's NBA, the Magic would also! Rockets would too. Only clear team that would be good in Jordan's era is the Spurs. Even then they wouldn't be a top 5 team.

    • @iblameabel
      @iblameabel 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also you're bringing up stats when Lebron still has 2 seasons until he ties MJ, I doubt he can rack up 5,000 points in 2 seasons. He's only getting worse and is gonna have to give up the ball to an already superstar Kyrie. It's sad how you made a video about not comparing two different players from two different eras and then make videos like this.

    it's really hard to compare because you also have to remember that at the time in the 80s and 90s defense was ALOT more ruthless. yet Jordan managed to as great and proficient as he was. Also what may be the thing LeBron could not surpass as far as Jordan is concerned is that despite both players having the privilege of playing with good teammates, it was Jordan who always had the cherry on top with his clutch ability. No one could argue that LeBron was very fortunate to have had ray allen, kyrie Irving, to save the day in whe LeBron couldn't perform as needed in the final minutes.
