Thanks for sharing that Brian. Brings back many happy memories of my last trip there over 15 years ago. Fantastic soundtrack. Remember to keep cooling of with the gelatos. Don’t give up on the crate digging. Cheers my friend.
Love these travelogues. Isn't it remarkable that even in Florence the same bands keep popping-up in the bins, and even the prices appear 'standard'? Enjoy the trip, and hope you find a few bargains Brian.
The prices probably are standard, but I lose out on the exchange rate. A $30 record in Canada is likely 30 Euros, but that's really $44 to me. So, I'll look for the more elusive items, if I can.
Hey Brian! I was watching your video and was going crazy as I knew the song that was playing but I couldn't place it. Then I realized it's Worlds Away. What a blast from the past. Now I soooo have to get that Strange Advance album back in my collection. Thanks for the reminder. Awesome video. Enjoy your trip to Italy! Blessings!!
I hope that is an easy record to find! I appreciate that song way more now than I did back then , though I have always liked it. It just seems better now 😀
What a great travelvid, Brian. Primo editing too! Glad you found some record shopping as well, best wishes for you and yours having the best vacation ever.
Excellent choice with Strange Advance as your soundtrack for this perfectly edited video. No chaos for you Brian! 😂. I’ve been to Italy only once on business back in /05. Went to a small place called Montebelluna for a few days, then drove a short distance to Venice for a couple more days before coming home. It was in February so not the perfect weather you will hopefully experience. Have a wonderful time.
So far, we have had some thunderstorms but it is not as hot as I had feared. I still haven't been to a real record store, but I am hoping to change that. My YT feed is full of VC videos with no time to watch them! I'll have homework when I get back
Thank you for sharing your record excursion part of the Italian adventure! I like the music you selected, very 80s vibe to it. Hope the trip has been awesome!
Nicely done, Brian! Quite artful. The Strange Advance soundtrack is a great touch. Sorry about the delays, but those will just be part of a great story later. Safe travels, friend!
Thanks for sharing your trip with us. This is beautifully done. You really should go back to that record stall and check out the Nuclear Assault section I saw in the video. 😆 Hope you are having a great time, Brian!
Terrific job Brian! This was really cool for me to watch right now as I had been looking for a song I remembered but didn't know the title, just knew that it was Strange Advance. I'd been looking for a while and just found Worlds Away on the weekend. And now you have it in a vid. That's pretty cool for me. I'm kinda stunned actually. Great Canadian new wave I remember as a shy young teenager liking certain tunes my metal hard rock riends didn't necessarily, so I kept it to myself. Lol! Love it now! Thanks for sharing. Fits the video perfectly imho. Worlds away indeed! Safe travels and enjoy the trip my friend. Cheers! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
Amazing coincidence. Although I liked Worlds Away way back when, I like it even more now. It's one of those songs that has aged well, to my ears anyway. Some songs do, and some don't, I guess.
I visited Rome, Venice and Florence on my honeymoon 12 years ago. I loved Italy. I did not seek out any records while visiting. I probably could have made a killing back then. I hope you enjoyed your travels. I just returned from Guatemala and Florida. No records for me in either destination. Cheers.
I am four days in, and I have not purchased any records yet. I think that will be a bonus if I find something. The exchange rate to the Canadian dollar is a bummer 😔
Thought you were driving all the way at the start. Very nice. Canada seems so tidy country. Italy is chaos in places by comparison. Music was nice at the start too.
Well, Toronto may look tidy, but up close it is messy in places. Italy seems like controlled chaos, especially from the passenger seat of a taxi. I'll never understand how there are not more accidents. It's like close call after close call!
Cool video, Brian! Looks like there was a fair bit of good stuff at that market. Love that Teardrop Explodes Piano comp… used to listen to it before bedtime as a kid. Scary stuff! Have fun!
This is why I need a VC member with me at all times. I have never heard that Teardrop Explodes LP. Next time, I will buy another ticket and bring along someone to act as a music advisor.
@@EmbryonicRobot it’s just a compilation, but was my first taste of Teardrop Explodes (and it has a cool cover). A VC European road trip would be good!!!
Thanks, FVA. I looked through a bin of Italian Prog, but it was all Greek to me. If I had more time, I would have looked up some things. The family keeps me moving.
Brian Scorsese strikes again! Beautiful Italy. Gang of Four jumped out….nice! Have a great time Brian, and don’t forget to send MKG Boston a postcard 😁 Mike
Interesting, I was just in Italy in April! Didn't go to Florence on that trip, I wonder if the subterranean record store is still there by the train station? Reminds me, I need to add some Italy footage on my next video.
That store may have been there, but we were an a schedule, so I didn't have much time to look. I an hoping to visit some stores today and tomorrow for sure!
You Sir are quite the budding director, well done. A cinematic short masterpiece, really enjoyed that. Also a kind of James Bond-like figure with a choice of passports depending on the mission. Actually you probably look more like Illya Kuryakin in the Man from U.N.C.L.E! I loved the way you arrived at the same time as the trains, how many takes did that take? 🤣. Bit pricey for a market stall/me but some great UK Indie there. I hope you grabbed the Ultravox Peel sessions? cheers 👍
"A cinematic short masterpiece" is really going too far! I feel that 4 Canadian passports would be the choice of a weak James Bond figure. I'd at least need a Russian and UK passport to make it look authentic. I did consider the Ultravox, but I think the price tag and exchange scared me away. Maybe that was a mistake?
@@EmbryonicRobot It was the combo of the music and the images of leaving for adventure footage...it got to me man! I never buy bootlegs because the dodgy quality also makes me emotional.
Thank you for letting us come with Brian. Lots of interesting cool records too 😊
I'll have a lot of video catching up to do back on the other side of the Atlantic!
You have arrived! Embrace everything, refuse nothing! Thanks for putting this out there. 😎🎶
Good advice!

Loved the pictures from Italy and was blown away by that massive train station, wow. Heck of a storm you had to wait out. Thanks for sharing
Obviously, that was not enough rain for us because it has rained heavily in Italy. I am really hoping that part of the trip is over.
Loved the Italy pictures and looking forward to more scenery!
Thanks, Gary. There is so much (maybe too much) to photograph here. It's overwhelming :)

Mark - You are right about that 😀 Even the thunderstorms won't dampen our spirits!
Thanks for the travel video. It’s cool that you got to do some record browsing and I liked the photos at the end.
