Out of curiosity, once you guys fix all the oil leaks. Do you also clean off the surfaces covered in oil or leave it as is? I'm just wondering moving forward how will another shop be able to determine if there is current oil leak or product of a previous one if the oil isnt cleaned off.

A good shop will degrease and clean the engine.

Hello & thanks for watching! We thoroughly clean all parts as they are re-installed, and degrease the contaminated areas at the same time. Once repairs are completed, we also wash engine bays. This helps us to easily locate any additional/future leaks. We agree this is certainly a good practice, and we know that our clients will bring their cars back to us, so it helps us out in the long run.

Shame shame That's why I had never have a new Silverado. I have a 92 Silverado with the 5.7. It's got 281 thousand miles and it don't leak nothing. It don't even burn oil. It goes to show that Chevrolets craftsmanship has gone down the drain.

Sounds like this truck is close to being totaled due to fluid leaks alone!
