- The 'VACCINE' Fugue:
The last installment of my pandemic-induced, 'when life gives you lemons' trilogy, this time featuring a minor/major-ish subject with an even more complex development, lots of experimentation, abundant drama, a few plot twists, and hopefully a happy ending.
Similar to my previous endeavour, the 'COVID-19 Fugue', here too I interpreted the word 'VACCINE' as an acronym for the following musical terms (as explained at the beginning of the video):
'V' = Dominant (in the key of A)
'A-C-C' = The notes: A, C, C
'I' = Tonic (in the key of A)
'N' = Neapolitan (Chord)
'E' = The note E...
When combined, they shape an as - previously described - minor/major-ish, somewhat pretentious subject, which though less dissonant, allows quite some room for harmonizing/inverting, fact which I fully exploit throughout the fugue.

Loved this song! The covid fugue definitely had a menacing tone that felt appropriate and although I can't place it as easily with this one, the song feels somehow fitting.
I´ve to say that not only the conterpoint in that fugue gave me a sensation of I´m front of one of the best Fugues i´ve had the plesure to listen! You´re a Genius!

I learned music theory about 4 years and we learned lots of bach part's. And wow this is truly amazing piece and I so liked the part how you put inside the covid theme as make you writing this fuga as a movie that extremely scary things happened and you solve it like an American movie 🎥 that have a good ending

It's called 'MAMPlayer'.
This is another wonderful sustained fugue with all the bells and whistles imaginable. Wow! Your work in counterpoint is so impressive sensitive and precise. It would seem to be unplayable on piano as written...you have in measure 58 b natural in 3 octaves on the left hand. That's a real stretch..pardon the pun. Transcribed for string quartet, piano trio perhaps? or piano for 4 hands? or the organ!!!
Dear John, thank you very much for your kind comments! In measure 58, the b natural is taken over with the right hand - it's just one octave then. The F/G clef division is mostly for readability purposes, rather than a splitting between left and right.
@@NicholasPapadimitriou1993 I see the b natural is written into both clefs, so the top one is played by the right hand? But you show it in both clefs...why not just eliminate the top most b from the bass clef? and also why triple a passing 16th note? I'm just wondering as somebody who finds keyboard writing challenging if that arrangement of notes as written is more readable or clear to a performer.
@@johnpcomposer There are multiple ocassions in this piece where notes of the F clef have to be taken over with the right hand. However, stuffing 3 or more voices in the same clef (which I occasionally do as well) can make the score cluttered and the voice leading potentially unclear. I also believe that this is an advanced enough piece that the performer can decide for themselves which notes are played by which hand - there are many such notation examples - see fugues of Mendelssohn, Czerny, Reger, Shostakovich, etc. As to why the tripple a passing 16th notes, well, that's a question of composition/counterpoint and harmony rather than a question of technique (and my choise to include it is a conscious one).

Is there any program that outputs this fugue graph from a Midi file, or you animated it manually?
I used MAMPlayer, however the Midi file needs to be properly configured for it to be shown as individual lines.
Hope this doesn't have any side effects and for it to go viral. Looking forward for herd immunity!
