I don't think he failed. Chopin's fugue doesn't follow the conventional counterpoint rules, but nevertheless I find it to be a nice little piece, with a remarkable subject.
Chopin put more of his compositional skills into romanticism, unlike bach, who wrote all of his music contrapuntally. I think if Chopin really put the work into writing fugues he would’ve gotten really good at it.
I feel like I need to play Angry Birds again, as I don't recognize anything from the game. But I recognize the Bach and enjoyed reading all the comments from people much more knowledgeable than me, who also appreciate it.
Usually these fugues on modern themes you find on TH-cam are fine and good fun but not like mind blowing. This one, though… I’m no counterpoint expert but this one sounds fucking amazing. It’s not just a clever but dry demonstration of counterpoint devices, it’s an exciting piece, it’s original, it’s harmonically exciting, it’s the real deal… Well done…
I just know to start a fugue, but just sometimes it's decently good. I'd really like to compose a day. So I'm not that expert, but I think this is a real fugue, not just shit as the most of pretending "fugues" videos by amateurs. And for sure way better than them all.
YOU ARE A GENIUS!!! Do you know how to play the piano? I play the violin but a wish i knew piano and counterpoint so that i could compose fugues!!!! :( I love fugues but i don't have the piano tehnique so i can't really compose...any tips?
Bach's fugue in Em from book 1 of the WTC is a 2 voice fugue. Idk about being able to play it on violin, but it might be easy to play on piano at slower tempos.
Avadhut Kasinadhuni Hah, I dont play on piano too and I've composed a fugue. I don't play on Organ and I've composed a 6 minutes long Preludium+Fugue (Together it lasts 6 minutes). Just get a music notebook and write it down. Then get a music program such like Guitar Pro or Sibelius and you'll be able to see and hear what is sounds like, what you create. You're welcome. Composing a fugue is pretty easy, so just sit down and try ;)
Wonderful fugue ! Do you think it will be nice played on a classical organ (but without pedals, even if one can put a few notes on it there and there) ? I'm learning it on the piano, but I'm an occasional organist too.
Im just now getting into more classical music, as I'm entering music school but I still don't now too much theory. Can anyone explain the two arrows at 01:04 pointing to and away from the b?
Did anyone try to play the score linked in the description? It seems hardly bearable at some places. The fingerings might be proposed are way too awkward for ordinary piano play. Or maybe I am just not skilled enough for this...
I'm learning it right now. No special difficulties, excepted in a couple of measures where it seems really tricky to hold some long notes. Let's use the forte pedal ! It's a fugue so you'll have to spend some time to "think" it, I mean to see which hand and which finger you use for each note...and your fingerings will be definitively not your neighbours' fingerings, each hand is different...
You should out write bach music today should be better than the past. I'm out writing in Beethoven's style by adding heavy counterpoint sort of heavy. I am working on a sonata on my channel
All things worked fantastically except a little excessive use of sequences. By the way, the harmony at 1:50 and 3:10 are awkward, and the recapitulation won't be so clearly presented in a standard fugue.
in 1:50 there is a G sharp in the soprano which makes it sound unexpectedly major and in 3:10 there is a problem that the soprano has A sharp while the alto has A natural which also sounds awkward. I agree with you that the G sharp at 1:50 should become G natural and the A sharp at 3:10 should either become A natural or B
+Jhon Smith +SeanPi314 (1) The harmony at both of those spots were deliberate choices. At 1:50, the G-sharp follows from a chromatic voice leading in the soprano. The awkwardness at 3:10 is a false relation - the soprano resolves upwards (A# -> B) while the alto falls by step (A -> G -> F#). There is a particular motet by Tallis which employs this several times, but I can't recall the title! Obviously these are rather eccentric choices, but since this was a fun piece, I wasn't too careful :P (2) You are right about the excessive sequences, but 4 years ago I was a far less experienced composer. (3) I know 2 fugues by JS Bach which do feature a full recap. If my memory serves me well, they are the C major fugue for solo violin (BWV 1005) and the C minor fugue for the lute (BWV 9-hundred-something). This is unusual practice though, as you said, but I thought I'd mention these two remarkable pieces.
I'm glade it is on harpsichord
God has spoken!
Berke Hitay I'm going to challenge these birds to a fugue off.
Johann Sebastian Bach I'm sorry who are you?
J. S. Bach I'm the real Bach
you're both fake!
i remember our music history teacher showing this to us as an example of fugue like 3 years ago
This is an amazing work. I'd like to study it deeper, but I can say that I love the harmony and I found the counterpoint very rich.
after a while it sounds like brandenburg 3 lol
Yeah, the cadenza is definitely based on Brandenburg 3.
P. Marios Christodoulou I believe it's the Fifth Brandenburg Concerto, not the Third, that has the massive keyboard cadenza.
Yeah, my bad XD
Angry Bach!
😂😂😂😆
... Chopin tried to write fugue and failed, you have done it awesome ;)
I don't think he failed. Chopin's fugue doesn't follow the conventional counterpoint rules, but nevertheless I find it to be a nice little piece, with a remarkable subject.

Chopin fugue be like: **T R I L L**
ive had this melody stuck for years now
Angry Birds 1699
as a classical music and bach lover this is a masterpiece
I totally agree!
I love ur ending paying extreme homage to bach with his dramatic runs very true to the period
Absolutely brilliant! Bach would be proud!
PixelKitty And so would I.
Angry Birds makes an excellent subject, and you developed it well. High five.

Terrific! There is even a Toccata section!
This is absolutely ingenious, the spirit of the great Bach sends its regards !!! *****
The amount of baroque gimmick there is in this 😂 well played, one could really believe it was composed at that time
Good job dude!
HOLY SHIT ITA HIM!!!!!!!!!
This music is not just theorizing the art of fugue but it is the music! Consistent story telling like fugues of the great Bach!
I really love the sequence at Measures 61-65. How the thematic material works in the falling-fifths: quite nicely done!
Fantastic! 5 out of 5 Angry birds!! Love it!
@inenimusic Thanks, I certainly had fun writing it :)
This is quality shizz, someday hope I’ll be able to improvise something close...
Weird how appropriate the theme sounds on a harpsichord.
I like how this is just the little fugue but Angry Birds
I could actually listen to and enjoy this one.
I just know to start a fugue, but just sometimes it's decently good. I'd really like to compose a day. So I'm not that expert, but I think this is a real fugue, not just shit as the most of pretending "fugues" videos by amateurs. And for sure way better than them all.
What are some examples of these pretending fugues?
@@extras5164 i would also like to know lol
Wow 10 years of this prime work.
Dude this is really good! You’ve got a talent
Næs expecting this to be such a banger, but it gets really good as it progresses.
Bach would have been proud. Well done.
Thank you for the free sheet music 😭👏
Thanks a millon for sharing your sheet music! Lots of work there!
Amazing!
Thanks Jonathan! I really enjoyed this piece of art! Very nice. I compose tonal music, too.
Terhi Dostal wow
Well, done. Confident, interesting and fine job of keeping things moving forward. The fugue is alive and well.
This is fantastic. Thank you for sharing it.
how could it take this long to for me to discover this
The subject really sounds baroque
This is very well done! Congrats :)
this is excellent. well done!
Great job! I liked so much.
Good work. Thanks for sharing.
이 곡 악보 구매하고 싶네요....
정말 잘 만드셨어요. 바흐 곡이라고 해도 전혀 위화감 없을 느낌이예요👍
This is amazing

Brilliantly!
Bravo!
I like measures 129-132 too much for my own good.
Good work, and there is a funny contrast between bar 1-8 and bar 9-11:)
¡¡¡Excelente!!!
As a former music student, I think your work would be a treasure for analysis teachers... if they take that seriously which I'm not sure they will.

I can get the midi?
Does anyone know if this is possible on piano (2 hands)? Seems like it would be though.
Hi Jonathan, this is excellent! Are the scores available? Would love to play with our string quartett. Dropped a message to you with my contact...
I am organist and how I can get this notes??
Genial.
For all of you saying that a fugue for solo violin is not possible, here is one from the master himself...
