I didn't talk much about the Java games of Gameloft, so here's a video about that: th-cam.com/video/riTcToB0VkQ/w-d-xo.html
You did not really mention Blitz Brigade (one of my favourite games)
its your real voice or AI
That one big reason also because there was so many modded game with premium unlocked, or purchased so everyone choosing to download it from the other place, unofficial not from play store or gameloft.
man gameloft used to be fire but now they feel like mobile ea
the ea mobile games is subcribed to gameloft channel😂
Even ea is better than this shit
🤣🤣🤣
@@emotionaldamage152 the master supports the student
Gameloft was founded by a Ubisoft dude so the apple doesn't fall far from the tree IG.
when you saw gameloft as a startup logo of a java game you immediately knew the game was going to be fire, but things changed. Miss old 2000s
Good old days bro, gaming on a 3530 until the ngage was fire
Fr
Yes. Love their Java games.
This comment deserves more than 3 comments
Entire time i was watching this video i was thinking this😅
As a fan of Gameloft games as a kid, and a QA for it after graduation, it's sad to see that the company had difficulties back there. I was enjoying their games a lot...
I mean sure the games they made were rip offs but atleast you have quality you can play on your phone.
@@hamzahnurreez8420 modern combat 4 was so good it was basically cod bo2 on mobile
same, I still remembered the time I was testing Asphalt 8, Chaos & Order, and Modern Combat 5, best graphic mobile games of 2013-2015...
@@randymarsh4748fr
Gangstar and Modern Combat series are games of my childhood. I hope Gameloft can rise again, and maybe expanding their market to PC/console games is a great idea!
I hope that too
I disagree. too much competition in the PC space. they had their own lane, loyal fan base, and credibility on mobile
They are, Gangstar New York 🔥
Dungeon Hunter 4 was also a major game back in 2015
No, please just don‘t. The reason these games worked was precisely because they were optimized for the mobile market.
Modern Combat 3 and 4 were the best. Gangster Vegas was good too until they decided to make it a lootbox cash grab game. Blitz Brigade, Gangster Rio and Miami were good games for their time, but aged terribly.
There's probably an universe where Gameloft was bought by Ubisoft since it's family business in a way
Looks like we're in the worse timeline
As long as that universe exists, I'll gladly tolerate this one 🥲
Nah ubi > vivendi@@starkiller7278
Nice haha @@starkiller7278

One lesson learned: dont let someone buy your company.
It's far more complicated than that.
@@bludix_eliteyeah I mean what are they going to do and how will they make money they will eventually be bankrupt but still don't like how Gameloft live long enough to see itself become the mobile EA though.
@hamzahnurreez8420 Yeah, but I found the statement in this comment stupid. Big companies will offer fat stacks for stocks instantly when they think your company has potential. It would be really hard to turn them down, especially when your company is struggling. They don't care if they lose the money at all.
@@bludix_elite agreed who would say no to a large stach of cash they will only see once in a Life time and nobody would say to this life changing experience.
lesson learned: you’ll go bankrupt developing games without micro transactions
Asphalt8,Gangster Vegas,Modern Combat 5
Gameloft games in 2013-2015 are not just a mobile games. It was our childhood

@@nonamepasserbya6658 not really digging the idea of sharing details. In all fairness it was a great place to work till the day I left(spent almost 9 years working there). Underpaid, yeah, but great team and I was spared from the big dramas. But since I was responsible for a core product, I inevitably ended up witnessing way more than I would have liked which was part of the reason why I(along with most of the team) left.
can you tell me more about six guns? How such a masterpiece was made then fell
what killed modern combat 5 thought theyd release mc6 but got mcvs wtf happened
The original Nova trilogy was pretty dope honestly.
Yeah nova 3 was my favourite and when nova legacy came out I hated it it had no voice acting and you had to buy your own weapons for the campaign
nova 3 was the goat man, it was ahead of its time@@Thebronzeboot
@@Thebronzeboot Legacy was the worst for sure.
I still have 3 on my iPhone 6, still an amazing game for sure
Nova3 was baisically halo for mobile boiz and i loved it. The newer one was dogshit
People talk about Gameloft android games. And here I am, a man who grew up with old Gameloft games in my old Sony Ericsson and Nokia phones. Their games were the best where all other mobile games that time was simple games. Gangstar series was my favorite back then
we have a video coming on that soon!
@@TheGameExplainers their popularity started on the java games era you shouldve started from that, their early asphalt series and other franchise games are ones of the best games ever developed on java/symbian. By the time andriod games become popular, most people downloaded gameloft games on play/app store because of their java games reputation.
Exactly, i used to play Splinter Cell on my Nokia symbian phone
The old Symbian era... gosh the nostalgia
Exactly. No one remembers java games
one game I remember loving was Six Guns Gang Showdown, Does anyone remember that? It was their version of Red Dead's redemption. I remember roaming around Arizona as a cowboy on my horse killing demons and trying to figure out the mystery of what happened to my wife
Brothers in arms 3 ❤
I remember it! I used to play it all way with my brother. Sadly, they have shut down the servers
I played Farcry 2 and it was cool. That time I use to have a keypad Nokia X2 with Java OS.
Six guns was great i loved it
Dungeon Hunter 4
why nobody mentions how badass gamloaft was in java and sambian phone age
They were, we regret we didn't mention that
The old wonder zoo an kingdom and lords were really good.
Also brother in arms
@@JCJC1216 American gangster, splinter cell , prince of persia and Assassin creed those were good games

That’s the crazy part 😒

The moment Gameloft removed Spider-man, that's when I lost all hope.
When they removed nova 3 same shit
@@user-qu9vq4yl7j nova 3 was so good bro
Modern conbat 3 and 4 are so good.Gameplay feels even better than codm very impressive for its time deserves more praise
Early MC5 was really good too, before it went free and added microtransactions.
@@InvidiousIgnoramus and now...
it's just a husk of micro transaction
Mc3 was peak for me
I only played MC5 and it was fun until they added armor sets imo, never got to experience it before it went free tho
Upto Mc4 it was lit
I played a lot of games from Gameloft and I did not enjoy any of them more than 3 days. The last one was Iron Blade, a beatiful game with a nice concept, but impossible to play new levels after about a week. The paywall is so brutal in all of their games (I can't tell anything about Asphalt games, since I have not played them, tho).
Pretty much the same with Asphalt after some point your only options are grinding for days or paying.
Loved iron blades environment
They also had this energy system that limited playing the game unless you pay for it.
@@dragonc3nter214 man that’s every mobile game
Imo the best game they ever made was Nova 3
Gangstar new york is gonna be a huge test for gameloft. It's either a comeback or a repetition of whatevers happening for the last 7-8 years

Modern Combat 2, 3 and 4 were my absolute favourites. Amazing Multiplayer and Campaign. N.O.V.A. 3 was also amazing, such a unique experience. Sadly all discontinued now :/
It's sad they removed NOVA legacy also from Play Store

NOVA 3, Modern Combat 4,5 ASPHALT 8 was love
I was a mobile gamer from 2009 to 2017.... it feels to me they have stopped creating games for mobile now.. it used to be full length single player campaign games that rivaled my PSVita.. Its been 6 years since a game worth a damn has come to Google Play Store
It's sad to see how they struggled despite having god tier games on mobile. Modern Combat and Nova series were my favourite when I was a kid and I used to beat the game over and over again 😢
Its sad that ads and micro transactions won out in the mobile gaming market. Everyone loves to talk about how they speak with their wallet but the mobile app stores are a testament to the fact that gamers are more willing to support predatory practices rather than buy quality videogames
It's the masses and the lowest common denominator approach. Games quickly reached the "casual" layers, meaning that they now reach billions of users. And it's just incredibly profitable to just do a quick low effort asset flip - sometimes even with stolen assets - than it is to actually try to produce a good game, that requires effort. The masses are mostly ignorant and easy to trick.
Also most (but not all) of the mobile players are children and don't have money to buy skins or other stuf
@@ceosgamer016_5 Yeah, indeed. But it is a easily exploitable path to their parents wallets.
Another reason they used to be so good was their lisenced games were so good! Minion Rush, Ice Age Village, Spider-Man Unlimited and The Amazing Spider-Man tie-in games. Those were games along with NOVA 3 that Gameloft stopped supporting...and when they declined
I love Gameloft games but most aren't compatible with my android, still think they're the best in mobile gaming even though most of they're games require at least 1gb
Sounds like you have to upgrade bud
Started as mobile ubisoft, ended as mobile EA
I honestly remember playing Blitz Brigade with my brother! Not sure how much it changed over the years, but I still think that the older Blitz Brigade was peak.
bro blitz brigade was my fav game back in the day mannn i miss those days
It’s changed for the worse game got more pay to win and they kept making shit updates and neglecting the game that’s filled with hackers that still roam around I miss the old version of blitz…
Modern Combat 5, I dumped more than 700 hrs. Even now with codm and pubgm I would still prefer to play that if they continued & improved it maintained it.
I still have fond memories of the Spider-Man games Gameloft made.
Tasm 1 and 2 👌🏾
Moving to PC and console might be the smartest thing Gamel9ft has done yet. The mobile market has changed too much. It's all about the adverts now.
The problem is that people tend to copy the strategy of the influential and the higher ups. Just look at Apple with their iPhone 7. They're the reason why many phones no longer have headphone jacks.
Man, i really wish that someone would remake NOVA 3, it's really one of my favorite games and i would really like it to be remade
imagine, N.O.V.A. 3: REBORN would be a great name for it 🔥
it could be possible if there aren't licenses issues.

I still remember the blitz brigade lobby was full packed. Now it's... It's a desert..
Haha yeah only one map is active but it’s during the daytime where you see some activity most likely facing hackers. it’s a shame but not surprising when gameloft neglected it and never bothered updating it properly.
gameloft made so many good games back in 2013-2015 but yeah all the good things end

Wait! You are the... FIRST! 😁
each video you make adds so much value. thank you!

Nokia and Gameloft had long history 😢
I played Gameloft's Modern Combat 4 and it was awesome, from the campaign to the multiplayer, I don't know if the multiplayer is still active today, but with COD Mobile and other FPS games, I doubt there are players left in MC4.
I used to work for Gameloft for 4 months. They paid me to just sit on my computer and do nothing, had to attend a customer call twice or thrice. During work I would just read book and talk to buddies.
So after 4 months they realized they didn't need you? Lol
@@KlutzyBoss nah, they begged me to stay but I left. You have no idea how hard it is to sit In front of a computer and do nothing for 8 hours a day. Sometime after I left they got rid of that position. Probably realized by then hahah

Well that explains Dreamlight Valley.
Gameloft bought my heart with Gangster rio in java ❤💕🥺.. my heart is melting in love as i type out this because that game was my entire childhood 😢
Adding fusion coins and no longer be able to farm credits in Mastery is the day Asphalt 8 goes downhill so hard that game only earns 100k$ per month, A9 holds up well around 800k-1m$ per month
Ahhhh
How would you know that?
, just wondering, not trying to steer drama
Order and chaos 1 was my first mmo that later drew me into world of warcraft. It was a genuine fun experience and met alot of cool chill people. Im glad i got to be a part of it.
Unfortunately they turned it to pay to win later.
I am still remember they developed Java games such cannon rats gangster Miami vindication assassin creed are (I mentioned few )super good game loft and digital chocolate developers are my favourite childhood memories
Nova 3 was such a special game for me. Me and my cousins used to play it all the time after school then one day it was just gone.
I still today look at Gameloft games
And leave it pain and memories of the past
Hope they catch back
i personally think asphalt 9 is one of the most original games ive ever played. ive never played any other game from gameloft but this one is one of the best ive ever played for pc

@@okiel1873 i do in fact i own most paid racing games on both steam and ubisoft. But this really does hit different and its just good to have closer community to the game
the jesko in the drive syndicate event a while back took like 4000 real dollars to max out the car
Tbh they need backwards compatibility as well as other og app developers
Gameloft peaks during the late 2000s and mid 2010s, when their games were actually fun and fair to play even though they costed money. Once all their games became F2P and P2W, it is clear that their qaulity drops
I have to subscribe to this channel because I love how you act effortlessly. You are so talented.👍
Zombie infection and zombie infection 2 are the goat of java games period. It was genuinely so good and felt like Resident Evil with unique mechanics but in JAVA. I played them so much in my xpressmusic phone.
The irony that I got an ad at 4:13
I remember watching you play this when I was a little kid since I was too young to get it. Played through it over a dozen times now. Sure is a trip this video makes me feel like a little kid again.
I was around for the entire fall of Dungeon Hunter Champions as a deeply involved community member. Signed NDA as part of the expert team and developed Discord bot. Ran a top guild on the server. Unfortunate what happened.
being a game tester at gameloft for 5 years, couldn't agree more.. I think the downfall start from vivendi become the highest shareholder.. a lot of potential games is not published properly and scattered in soft launch...
When I was a young, 10-year old brony, I always liked that MLP mobile game despite it just being a generic citybuilder
I remember playing gameloft games before Android age, playing them on my Nokia phone😂
I remember playing Asphalt 5 on my dad's nokia. I thought the game looked so advanced.
seeing the downfall was sad because I used to play there games all the time they actually made good games back then my favourite game was nova 3 I love the story the graphics were good for a mobile game
The saying of "you either die as a hero or live long enough to see your self as a villian" is genuine true with how much game companies have changed
thank you for this video man. i played the dungeon hunter 1 and 2 and they were awesome.
Modern combat 4 and 5 are their best creations and paved the path for multiplayer mobile games
Could i know the song at 4:49?
Star Battalion, Asphalt 6 Adrenaline… man those times😢
What i find is that most of these game loft videos miss out the feature phone era of gameloft which was really popular back in the day.
We are creating a seperate video about that
It's so sad that the best mobile games developer come to an end. I had so much good days since I was a 17 years old gamer until now 35 years old😢
Thank you so much for creating this video. So much needed🙏
Man, back when I had iphone 3, this studio was on fire
I used to play Gameloft's football manager on my Sony Ericsson phone (forgot the exact game title) but it was a blast
Modern Combat 2 multiplayer on my iPod Touch 2G was crazy at the time.
Man you unlocked so many memories in my mind 😢
My favourite games growing up where Gangster, Miami Nights and so on. Its sad seeing a lack of motivation and idea over the years
I remember Gameloft vaguely, i only ever played their java games back in the days, never really stuck to me though, even on more modern devices I never considered gameloft games, admittedly, I am not a Mobile Gamer, I got one game on my phone and that's it.
Gamgstar 1 & 2 + Modern Combat 1,2,3 ahhh. Those were the times, ipod touch 2g jailbroken and downloading fake app store from cydia to get free copies of the games. Holly molly those times were something else 🔥🔥🔥
Modern combat 5 , Nova 3 , Asphalt 8 were literally my childhood games
The best one was Heroes of Order & Chaos but man they abandoned us fr
Nice video🎉
THAT ONE IRON MAN GAME 😭🙏
Completely omitted their Java years. Insane.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
I remember playing their games, on old Java phone. They were really good, in my opinion. And I only saw, but wished I played, the first 4 Modern Combat games on android. Now their games are just lower than average games, overtaken with microtransaction cancer
Kids here talking about their childhood Gameloft games from 2013, while i remember playing the first Gangstar game between classes on a JAVA phone.
Oh man, I love wonder zoo. I always liked their concept of having to capture and release animals until they’re not endangered anymore. Honestly, it was something that made the gameplay loop very interesting as it wasnt just getting the animals and moving on. You also had to actually find sick and injured animals in the wild instead of just buying them in a store.
I have yet to see any zoo management game, console or mobile do this
i remember playing modern combat 4 campaign in my small phone and 2 dollars ps2 controller during early weekends , it was a core memory for me
Nova was such a fun game. I was so into it back in it’s prime
B.I.A 2 was goated, I remembered a tip saying: "Combat never requires energy". Sad to say they did implement energy in the 3rd game
my first touch of gameloft games was when they took some of the movies(films) into java game, (nokia symbian i think.) at that time it was alot of fun and i really enjoy them
Modern combat, Nova, despicable me and asphalt, i remember playing these back when I was in middle school, Gameloft was one of the few who saw mobile gaming potential, then the rest recently caught up.
Maybe they'd do great on console/pc, where they don't have mobile limitations, and I hope they'd be better than Ubisoft.
I had hoped you would discuss their Java and Symbian era games as well, though admittedly a bit too old haha
Modern Combat in the early 2010s on the iPad 2 was the life ❤
Gameloft died when Vivendi arrived
Asphalt Urban GT and Asphalt 3 Street Rules were my jam back in the day.
I remember being 12 with an iPod touch being blown away by how good Gameloft games looked.
Just bought a new phone. Didn't played any kind of games for at least a couple of years so went to get some, and the first name I could come up with was Gameloft. I pretty sure many people still go by the name of Gameloft itself, maybe it's a tradition or a nostalgia, but the name of Gameloft is still there.
They were good during the low to mid range mobile era when the bar was low, now that almost every big game on mobile is basically a big budget cross-platform behemoth it's hard for guys like these who basically just re skin existing games for a living
Felt real bad when they shut down asphalt street storm and asphalt Xtreme went to netflix
I uninstalled Gangstar Vegas when they forced ads whenever I go to map menu
I loved their games so much, it makes my inner child cry so much thinking about all the games they created that I played for hours on end
What game is playing in the background?
Gangstar New York
I had an old sony ericson phone before, i think it was the W8i series or something but its a keypad phone where I used to play old gameloft games like modern combat, asphalt and many more. It will cost me like 50 PHP to download the game because some of its not free. It help me escape loneliness and have fun during lunch breaks
I miss gameloft 😢
