  • In adults, neck pain has an annual prevalence rate of over 30%. Of those people, roughly 50% of individuals will continue to experience chronic neck pain.
Why do so many people develop neck pain? Besides impact traumas such as car accidents, one of the biggest culprits are poor movement patterns.
It's quite common as people age and become more sedentary their movements become more isolated to specific joints rather than moving from the whole body. For a person to turn to look left or right, they may forget to use the torso to help with the movement and only move from the neck. When they only use a small part of themselves to create particular movements, they begin to wear down those segments of the body.
This lesson will address how to start to move more of the spine, pelvis, sit bones, and even the legs to begin to make movements of the torso to initiate and move the head in rotation, flexion, and extension. ---

Hi Joe, When I first lay on my back, I felt lower back pain. At the end of the session, lying on my back no longer hurt. That was a surprise.

Hi Cynthia! That is great! I think these movement sequences are great for freeing the back of unnecessary tension! Hopefully, we'll be able to return to some in-person classes later in 2021!
