I have a friend who owns a Coolray and had an accident. Not really sure how long it took for the repair to finish but during the repair, Geely gave them another Coolray for them to use while waiting for the repair to complete. Nice.
Ang Sukatan ng reliability ng isang Sasakyan ay length of time na walang Major mechanical issue at Hindi ka Ititirik sa daan. Sa US standard ay One hundred thousand miles or 5 years Pagkatapos noon your on your own. Bakit 5 years lang? Dahil yon Lang Ang Engineered durability ng engine at Transmission.. After 5 years things start To break down. Most important is the Regular oil change every 3 months or Every 5 thousand km. Toyota can last A very longtime provided you maintain It very well. My toyota avalon 2003 Have 131 thousand miles and it still Run very silent and fast.
Three years owner of coolray here. Somethings I will point out with my experience… 1. In my ownership, I had one problem during my first year. A component of the steerimg wheel broke which resulted in the car losing its honk and sterring wheel control of radio, cruise and dash setting. I still could drive but we decided to have it towed (for free since it is still included in the warranty). The parts took 2 weeks but they still took additional 2 weeks to install because they did not have the program needed and had to consult Chinese manufacturer. This was during the pandemic with lockdowns going on. This is something I knew (although not informed by my agent) that could happen. We had a Chevrolet car when it was still new in the Philippines. It had suspension problem and took 7 months for the parts to arrive. Still its a little bit concerning since the steering wheel problem I had was uncommon. In our family owing many cars (we had taxis before), this is the first time we experienced such problem. Adding to it, this is a less than a year car. So far, I had no other problems and was satisfied with their response. 2. I think their customer service is above average and better than other dealers. Although during the first 2 years sheduling for maintainance is a hassle because of low number of casas. It is now much better. It is also relatively cheaper and I feel like their staff are much friendlier. 3. As for the performance of the car, I only have one issue. Because the engine is smaller, I noticed that in eco mode you will slip down the hill when idle. This is even if I have no cargo or passenger. The engine is powerful enough if you are using it in normal mode and very fast enough if you are using sports mode. If I am going to buy onto geely again, at most I will buy the coolray or the emgrand. They all have the same engine and it is weak for a larger vehicle. 4. For fuel effenciency, it depends on how you drive it. When my brother drives my car, he gets 6 to 8 km/L in the city. When I drive it, I get 10 to 12 km/L. I definitely got more efficient in driving it. It is still more gas chugging that my vios. 5. For a little more than 1 million, it is a really a good buy. It feels like a 2 million plus car. My 3 years old coolray has better tech than the new ford everest of my brother. 6. If you’re going to finance this, it will have higher interest rates compared to other cars. Even my bank manager discouraged me into buying. The banks will offer more favorable terms for other cars than this one. Do I recommend it? I probably will not because it is still early to say. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. It is still the best buy for its price range. I am still more satisfied with my Coolray than my Vios. If you are considering cars from Geely, test drive one. Be sure to know that there will always be downside to owing these cars.
@@mounirmahboubi1656 Any car near the sea will rust more. During the first year, I lived near Roxas Blvd and drived once sa hangang tuhod na tubig. No rusting pa naman.
Update since Geely have a PR problem right now. I have been twice to Geely Makati. The casa is almost open and more like open parking than a typical casa from other brands. My first time with them I had my walk in pms. I had no problem but they advised me to schedule next time. Last month I had a problem with break lights. I saw in their website that they are open during Sundays. I tried scheduling on the website for a Sunday. Nobody texted me or followed up. I figured I should just show up. Their casa in Makati was closed. North Edsa is open during Sundays. They gave me a number to text for scheduling and I did that but still no reply. I just walked in the next day and I was not in the appointment. The problem with my car is a little rubber for the mechanism in the break pedal. One of the staff told me “Ah ang tagal din po before napalitan noh? Buti inabot pa ng 3 years.” In my mind, we never had this problem with other cars. Is it a common problem? It seems to be in coolray for her to comment like that. Do other dealer just change that regularly during pms without me knowing? Anyway it’s free.
This was a good initiative Joo, its really helpful hearing from actual owners, especially those with over 20k on the clock, those persons can best tell you whats up with a vehicle more than a review or test drive can. Common bit of data i found interesting, most persons were coming from a Fortuner, on one hand its a downgrade(in terms of vehicle size) but chances are if they sold the vehicle to buy the Geely they would have come out with a nice surplus to help with the purchase and bring down the loan quite a bit without sacrificing features just space which most people wont mind that much.
I had a friend who purchased Geely and parts replacement took 7 months plus he said you won't get an update on the status of your concern so you need to reach out to them from time to time. Says a lot about their service.
Now this is good content, feedback from the owners themselves. Good to know that Coolrays are reliable 3 years since it launched. Mileage is important and more than 30k is already an achievement. Any vehicle as long as you take care of them properly will last a long time regardless of the country of origin or brand. We used to have a 2014 Hyundai Eon, not a very durable car with high quality parts, but it lasted 6 years with us with only 26k mileage before we sold it. Never had any major accidents or any parts replaced, just oil changes and battery. Coolrays that never had issues, especially the 2019 models, are proving their quality now. One youtuber, CARpenter's Production has a Coolray that is already at 70k mileage.
I’m in Panama and here are a lot Chinese cars on the road. As a German, lived before Panama 15 years in Canada. Coming here I was like: A what brand? BYD. JAC, GEELY, CHANGAN and so on. And as a small update: The owners are right: You getting a lot for your money. But for example the Changan 1.5 fuel consumption is a joke in the 21 century. 7km/liter in the city? That’s 14.3 liters / 100km. That’s like a V8 consumption. My 2017 Jeep GC used 9 liters/ 100km with a V6!
What many people don’t know is this Chinese cars scored extremely low on the European crash test so they couldn’t get a foot on the European market. Volvo was owned by Ford at that moment but was up for sale So in short Geely bought Volvo for the knowledge & know how Coz Volvo is Quality, durability and Safety Geely brought all the designers to China and also a lot of Workers from Volvo…. To teach the Chinese And as you can see the result is amazing
This is excellent content. Please collab with more car clubs/groups 😀 I believe this will be helpful to a lot of potential car buyers that prefer looking for videos instead of going into FB groups and asking the same questions again and again.
I drive a toyota but man seeing other people aggresively dictate what car they should buy is very embarassing. I mean it's their money they do what they want with it. These kind of negative attitude makes us toyota owners look bad to others lol. These grown adults are acting like children. I can guarantee you not all of us toyota owners are like that.
+1 Exactly. I've had Toyotas in the past and no doubt they're good and over-engineered, but totally bland and bare IMO. But then I've also had Hyundais and they were good, too. I had a Chevy and my experience was bad but that doesn't mean others will experience the same. If you take care of your car, it will take care of you, regardless of brand. Similarly, if the car isn't right for you, your experience will not be nice. We are the sentient being not the car, hence, we have the capacity to adjust while a car doesn't. If the car were sentient, it probably wouldn't like you either, if you're not the right driver for it hahaha.
to invest on a new brand in the market, you need to establish the resale value. What's use of buying a inexpensive new car when its hard to sell it and replace it in the future. Just ask buy your car dealers and see if its easy to resell later on. But that's okay if you have plenty of resources, and you are willing to take a risk.
GCR owner here, for almost 2 yrs. What I want to see for improvement is inclusion of Apple Carplay in the infotainment system :< Performance wise, I have no complaints. It drives really well and fast. Reason for buying it is as most owners say, value for money.
@@yvrytry5rc typical peenoise, low comprehension about the meaning ng value for money. May I ask how about you? Do you even have money to buy a car? regardless of the brand?
I planning to buy Geely Car last May but may family was trying to give me bad impression of Geely so we instead bought Raize. Don’t get me wrong. Raize is a very fun car but I really like Geely. Gonna buy a Geely unit in the future! ❤️
My friend has Coolray Limited Edition and had the opportunity of driving it, super comfortable talaga at para nakalevitate yung sasakyan kasi sobrang bongga ng suspension. Sobrang tahimik ng engine as well and what I like about Coolray the most is yung speed at acceleration niya, sobrang lakas ng power infairness sa kanya. 2 months ago, we went out of town ng friend ko, talagang nakatulog ako sa biyahe sa sobrang comfortable niya. Reliability isn't accurately gauged in a single test drive; it's assessed over five years of consistent performance without needing significant part replacements, only routine maintenance. 😂 lets see if geely unit maintains its presence on the roads after a decade.
I bought shares in Geely in the 1990s just after they went from making refrigerators to making cars. My profit in the stock at one time was close to 1000%. As of today(Aug, 6, 20240), it is 875%. I would love to buy a Geely or their Terrafugia(flying car) if they ever decide to make it. Besides making autos, Geely is big in AI and in battery development. If they make a hardtop convertible and can sell it in the US, I would be their 1st buyer. P.S. Geely might want to make an eScooter similar to the Twainese Gorgoro eScooter. Geely is now working with Nio in terms of battery swapping for their EVs. I also own stock in Nio and in Xioami EV car brands. P.S. I have made and posted over 60 music videos on TH-cam with many having the lyrics on the screen in both English and Chinese. I used Google to translate the English into Chinese....so please forgive my errors with the Chinese lyrics. One of my favorite videos is, "Butterfly Lovers as the original Chinese Romeo and Juliet". That video has scenes from the 1994 version of "Butterfly Lovers".
Check out another Vlogger's opinion about his own Geely Coolray. He is a priest which is why I guess, he has to travel a lot. He has a 2 year and 4 months old Geely Coolray undergoing a 70K check up. CARpenter's production.
at the end of the day, it all boils down to maintenance, doing your research and being a good driver that respects their vehicle. parts delay affects all brands specially if it's a part that rarely gets broken (probably from our own negligence without us even knowing it or from unfortunate accidents). parts availability is a matter of systems, process and numbers. For new brands in our country, there's not enough historical data to go by so let's not stop other buyers from buying their products so they can accumulate the data and improve their parts availability then. All the big brands started as new brands we which we have tagged as new and unreliable at one point in time. Let the buyers choose themselves. Sure, for some it's in their nature to stick with the old and reliable but let those that want to test the new ones choose freely without hate or prejudice.
well fuck you you little shit, if im going to buy a car just to do research and worry about maintenance then fuck it im just going to buy a branded reliable car rather than this cheap poor man's crap. you must be a poor wannabe try hard to look rich with a cheap ass chingchong car.
cautious optimism.. their offering is certainly aggressive but TBH I'd give it a couple more years - mainly due to my ignorance of what a good engine design is and a bit of hesitation to automobiles that (overly) rely on software.. most especially since some have shifted to a subscription based model ~
It's basically just their version of a Volvo and it has both it's cons and pros. Just like Volvo, you can be assured that it's good fckkkn tech you get and is worth your money. The bad news is reliability since, just like Volvo as well, tech can fail and even Volvo tech can fail from time to time and no, it's not because it's now Chinese-made unlike what most detractors will say but due to Volvo being too complex than they should be. but it's not just Volvo as well. This is basically true for every manufacturer especially if they have tech in their cars. Hell, just look at the Euro cars like BMW, Volkswagen, Peugeot and many more. They're waaayyy too overly complex and have errors and failures that would make Geely's faults look like a mere stumble. And let's not forget some manufacturers who cheat on emissions tests.
Geely has been selling cars in the Middle East and certain countries in Europe for years before they even came to our shores. Geely cars have been tried and tested for their reliability. The only major issue rn (in the Philippines at least) is parts availability. But when it comes to reliability, Geely cars are just as reliable as Toyotas and Mitsubishis.
@@occultdestroyer The parts availability is not the fault of Geely in general but the ones who distribute and represent them here. Specifically the importers and dealers of Geely cars. There are a lot of supplies of Geely parts online if you know where to look.
it’s actually funny how most people look down on chinese brand without them realizing that all cars in the market, regardless of geographical location, is actually partially built by a chinese company. The toyota’s that most people love to praise for it’s durability? parts that hold the entire thing is actually from china. And if you dig in a little deeper, some of those panels are actually manufactured in mactan cebu. =) People have done this in the past. I remember there was a time when korean brand cars were mocked. I used to be one of them. Now korean made suv’s are sometimes more expensive than the more established jap brand. China’s manufacturing prowess is recognised globally. believe it or not, china manufacture parts that make a table stand to a rocket that is launched to space. Let’s quit the whole ‘’china made’’ stigma. They are here and they are here to stay regardless of how their government is. Let’s just appreciate the fact that car’s like coolray is here to prove a point; Toyota and other established car brands in tge country, are ripping us off with the idea of ‘’parts availability’’ and selling their cars at premium prices but giving us subpar cars at the most.
Just bought a Emgrand Premium 2 weeks ago in Geely Cabanatuan.

there is no "armrest" on the 3rd row of the Okavango or any car with a 3rd row (unless of course we're talking luxury cars or customized vans). That alone is proof that you're lying. If you mean that thing you can lie your arm on the side, that isn't an "armrest". That's a side panel. And the 2nd row doesn't even have an armrest as well and it's only the 1st row that has them. and all leather products will be torn to shreds or break if the occupants are pieces of shhhttsss who don't take care of anything and aren't mindful with what they have especially with sharp objects on their body. Leather isn't Kevlar or titanium that will barely get a scratch if you don't do anything. All leather products will degrade in time and will degrade even faster if it isn't well maintained
@@dickmelsonlupot7697 yes the side panel/rest or whatever you call it is what i meant. it''s broken means it's not durable for that short time of usage. no need to cry about it or get angry about it. i have never experienced that in other cars so that means something. no need to get butthurt or spew some bad words to me. just stating my experience
Its rebadged as Proton, model X70 and X50 I think, here in Malaysia. Owners have same issues. Spare parts. Most customers believe its Protons sloppy supply chain thats causing the long delays for replacement parts. Didnt know Geely as a whole has this issue.
Still not worth it. Toyota can last 500k to 1m odo Regular service. No hassle. Chinese cars max 60k to 100k mileage. Transmission issues/Ac issues/etc based on my friends chinese cars. And parts unavailable.
Good content but isn't it biased to interview a club member while promoting to join their group? I was hoping to hear: 1. Parts availability 2. Asean NCAP rating 3. Warranty / PMS 4. Fuel efficiency
2. NCAP rating is 5-star 3. Had my 1st PMS 2mos ago, cost around 5k. Warranty di ko pa nagagamit. 4. Hehehe
@@thebennnn For parts, it's to be understood that they're still too small hence their supply line isn't that big yet but for Geely cars abroad, they don't have this issue. And for me, it has more to do with Sojitz G Auto Philippines Corporation (SGAP) in general since they're the local distributors here in the PH and are the ones actually responsible for aftersales support and not Geely themselves (since they are just manufacturers) NCAP is nothing for Geely since they basically own Volvo and have made great use of that ownership by how well they manage and create their cars to be pretty much an affordable Volvo. For your PMS, that's normal pricing and isn't really that expensive. It's even far cheaper than if you get a Ford or a Nissan PMS. Fuel efficiency is understood since it is intended to be a "racing car" but one for the masses and with good performance since you *CANNOT* get good power without sacrificing fuel efficiency. That's normal for cars.
Members here who say there have been no issues with PMS are false statements. We own a GCR and love the car, but we’re not all about just love about covering flaws. Ung kanilang after sales service. Tanunginn ninyo sila regarding after sales service. What if kung hindi? Mag dalawang isip muna kayo bago kayo kumuha at mag desisyon kasi baka magsisi lang kayo balang araw sa bandang huli.

Three years owner of coolray here. Somethings I will point out with my experience…
Be sure to know that there will always be downside to owing these cars.
thank you!
Very well said sir!
Do they get rusty?
Buti inabot pa ng 3 years.”
In my mind, we never had this problem with other cars. Is it a common problem? It seems to be in coolray for her to comment like that. Do other dealer just change that regularly during pms without me knowing? Anyway it’s free.
Watched this video before we bought our Geely Coolray last December. Im back watching as a satisfied GCR owner. Will surely attend the next meet.

@@SoJooCars are they made in the USA?
This was a good initiative Joo, its really helpful hearing from actual owners, especially those with over 20k on the clock, those persons can best tell you whats up with a vehicle more than a review or test drive can. Common bit of data i found interesting, most persons were coming from a Fortuner, on one hand its a downgrade(in terms of vehicle size) but chances are if they sold the vehicle to buy the Geely they would have come out with a nice surplus to help with the purchase and bring down the loan quite a bit without sacrificing features just space which most people wont mind that much.

I've already watched him how to discuss everything in coolray, very informative reviews 👍

What many people don’t know is this
Chinese cars scored extremely low on the European crash test so they couldn’t get a foot on the European market.
Volvo was owned by Ford at that moment but was up for sale
So in short Geely bought Volvo for the knowledge & know how
Coz Volvo is Quality, durability and Safety
Geely brought all the designers to China and also a lot of Workers from Volvo….
To teach the Chinese
And as you can see the result is amazing

That video has scenes from the 1994 version of "Butterfly Lovers".

at the end of the day, it all boils down to maintenance, doing your research and being a good driver that respects their vehicle. parts delay affects all brands specially if it's a part that rarely gets broken (probably from our own negligence without us even knowing it or from unfortunate accidents). parts availability is a matter of systems, process and numbers.

We have 4 coolrays since 2022…all still good and I’m very impressed with the styling and the performance
cautious optimism.. their offering is certainly aggressive but TBH I'd give it a couple more years - mainly due to my ignorance of what a good engine design is and a bit of hesitation to automobiles that (overly) rely on software.. most especially since some have shifted to a subscription based model ~
But when it comes to reliability, Geely cars are just as reliable as Toyotas and Mitsubishis.

it’s actually funny how most people look down on chinese brand without them realizing that all cars in the market, regardless of geographical location, is actually partially built by a chinese company.

@@thebennnn
For parts, it's to be understood that they're still too small hence their supply line isn't that big yet but for Geely cars abroad, they don't have this issue.
And for me, it has more to do with Sojitz G Auto Philippines Corporation (SGAP) in general since they're the local distributors here in the PH and are the ones actually responsible for aftersales support and not Geely themselves (since they are just manufacturers)
NCAP is nothing for Geely since they basically own Volvo and have made great use of that ownership by how well they manage and create their cars to be pretty much an affordable Volvo.

Hi Mr. MZEE I like your videos Hence I have question for you .Which is option is best MG HS 2023 Trophy (AED 70k) VS Geely Coolray Top Option 2024 (AED 79k)? Interms of Aftersale service
One of my friends planned to buy a Gellly car but a friend of him who owned a Gelly car discouraged him to purchase because his friend experienced bad service to them imagine it takes more than 3 months to wait on particular parts for replacement to damage.
that's the same with Ford and some other dealers here especially if it's a part that they don't have in stock on hand in their dealership or just bad handling by your local dealer.
Toyota raize owners also had same issue with collision parts, some are waiting for months already for part replacement
Nice.. I really wonder how the aircon performs. Gonna finnish watching this video
Ice cold at 23-24deg 1 fan level. need to bring a jacket even on a sunny day. - okavango.
Bottom line is resale value. No matter the technology placed into the car or the bang for the buck as they say, all of that won’t matter when it’s time to sell it for pennies.
But they do get sold as secondhand
i don"t buy car for investment. eh kung gusto mo pala ng investment bumili ka ng lupa.
Hey Joo! This was a very timely content. Ive been searching for videos featuring testaments on this car.
LOL it's a Chinese car
We still do not know if it will age gracefully.
Have you seen 10 year old Toyota's? They don't age gracefully. At least these Geely's have better styling.
@@thetrustysidekick3013 I still drive a 2004 Kia picanto. Sure it’s old but I can get from point A to point B without any trouble. I found a good repair shop in my area now I only need to change engine oil and change battery regularly to keep the car running.
Thank you Joo🥰 love this vid
super enjoyed this video. very good content Joo!
Glad you enjoyed! 😀
I am in Ghana and I own geeley Panda but the gears do not select. Is there any way I can get it fixed? I truly love it and would love to be an agent in Ghana.
Unfortunately not
It's crazy how the car deigns were almost similar to Proton's X series. I know they hv half of the proton shares but for the designs to be quite similar makes it hmm..
GEELY NOW IS NOT BANG FOR THE BACK ANYMORE, price have increased significantly with a B+ in Tech compared to Other competition today like Apple Car and Android Auto
What are better or at least comparable offerings are there in your opinion?
tama. they have increased their prices. it's almost the same with the brands that have been here in the philippines for long.

MG, Chery or Changan.
Basically, the local distributors or more specifically Sojitz G Auto Philippines Corporation (SGAP) has gone crazy and went full Toyota with their pricing.
Good work man, keep it up
I will never buy a car that is being endorsed by/given to celebrities here in PH. I think that says it all.
"If geely users are watching this, don't get triggered"
👏👏👏 my man knew what's smoking
better to interview casa what happened to the car service. why take so long to repair and why the car treatment. i think thats the real issue.
Nice video man...regards from PERU
Please do Chery as well :)

Great and nice content SooJoo!
Magaling ka pala mag tagalog Sir Idol Joo! Great content! Keep it up! :)
Geely coolray is so small..
Love the tech only and the sports mode..
And not even a fuel efficient..
good job for the interview. keep it up!
Partly no fully own geely and lotus 100 percent yet didn't destroy the brand like America
Geely should remove the autopark feature and replace that with wireless charging, autopark is overrated, and you wouldn't need it if you live in Manila, but Wireless charging will be a very big plus, since 99% of Filipinos are addicted to their phones more than any nation,
Ung kanilang after sales service. Tanunginn ninyo sila regarding after sales service. What if kung hindi? Mag dalawang isip muna kayo bago kayo kumuha at mag desisyon kasi baka magsisi lang kayo balang araw sa bandang huli.
CDR King closed down to focus on Automotive, all parts of Geely are from CDR King with 7 days warranty. 😜
Hahahah made in china tapon niyo na yan
Whats the lowest i can get repayments on a geely okavango plus?
Hi SoJoo, what is the name of their group? Do they have fb page?
Ahahaha people trying to justify their purchase I cannot 😂
For the record I test drove one of those I did not like how it drives. Its too unpredictable.
But then again pinoys have this "okay na ito" kind of attitude. Meh, ginusto niyo naman yan~ though there's far more reliable and reputable brands there na +200K lang ang difference
@@monggolean Sir can you name other models that you like better? I'm shopping for a new crossover at 1.5m price range or less
@@logmeinhere with that budget, go for honda hrv or toyota corolla cross. Its just a waste of money.
@@monggolean it's their money and they drive the car every day so they have every right to justify their purchase 😊
You mean you're not used to the acceleration, eh?
Does Geely coolray 2024 have autohold?
Good Day! May I ask, how to join Geely Club? Thanks
Coolray is a different breed. Its fast yet cheap
