    Edit: solution found
    I notice you have "Waze" on your car screen and JBV1 on your phone screen. So I have tried the same set up [we even have the same phone holder!] and I can have JBV1 on my phone and Waze on my Android Car screen [2019 Challenger] BUT, there seems to be a "bug" with Waze using it that way. Opens up but no map... I searched the Internet for solutions but none have appeared. You obviously don't have that bug in Seattle [NM here]. Have you ever had it? If so, have you found a solution? Thanks again for everything you do for us. I really don't know where we would be and what we would do without you! Stay well...

    @vortex or anyone else, I have the V1Gen 2 and it's hardwired in, I bought an Anker USB C cigarette lighter charger for the phone. It appears that when I start the car (2017 Mazda MX-5) and have the charger plugged in (nothing plugged in the charger), the V1 will not finish its startup. It will make the smallest chirp and stay off. With the charger not plugged in the V1 starts and runs fine. Tried to contact Valentine no communication back yet.
    Any recommendations before I keep buying chargers?

      Yeah, it looks to be much better now thankfully. I'm not sure if it's 100% perfect, but it does look like they've finally ironed out some of the initial issues (knock on wood). They're also doing a good job of taking care of any customers who do experience issues which is great to see.

    How do you get JBV1 alerts to appear overlayed on Waze?

    • @VortexRadar
      @VortexRadar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have overlays enabled on JBV1 so they pop up when the app is backgrounded and then run Waze in the foreground. You might want to avoid using CSA's from both apps simultaneously though.

    Okay, I normally pair my phone with my car's touchscreen (Lincoln MKC with Ford connect) so I can have Waze on my car screen. I also run Hiway Radar in the background.
    I'm wondering if I can get a cheap android tablet with bluetooth and use JBV1 with a V1G2 without using data. What features can I use and not use with such a setup. I don't have my car's hotspot activated because we've never needed it since all our phones are unlimited antway.

    I was thinking about buying it for 500 bucks when I heard somebody say can't pick up laser is that true how does laser guns work how would you feel confident speeding if you had a valentine it doesn't pick up laser I'm trying to justify spending 500 do a lot of cops run laser what is laser involve I am new to radar detectors

    • @bostonstrong9262
      @bostonstrong9262 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope won’t help with laser unless you get really lucky and there hitting someone up ahead you’ll get the alert but can’t count on it. Still comes in handy for many other reasons since many officers still run radar especially while there moving. You will need a set of laser jammers to defeat laser guns. Alp makes the best system but it’s pricey though it works. TMG also makes a good system that’s cheaper. Plan on $15-2000 for a good system.
