Changed out the invertor cooling pump about 1 month ago, and noticed the coolant temp rising. I forgot about the bleed. And your video showed me how I could loose coolant, with trapped air. Big thanks!
Good video kid. Just changed my inverter pump and now i know how to bleed the system. Oh and by the way....no need to remove bumper and this and that and headlight. Simply remove the one plastic cover going the across the front and the 2 front bolts on the inverter and push it to the left a few inches. You then have enough room to get down in there....a little tight, but plenty of room. Take off the 3 bolts holding the pump on the bracket and lift the pump up to gain better access to the coolant line clamps. Pretty easy
Good job!! Replaced inverter pump on moms 06 Prius. Your video was simple and to the point. Was able to get all air out of system. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for commenting! I'm trying to balance technical explanations and layman explanations in videos, although sometimes I can get a bit rambly, so I'm always trying to improve!

Great video Aiman! A suggestion for you. The reason we reach for a funnel is that we try to take a gallon jug and pour it into a small opening. That is all and well if we are using the entire jug but when you are bleeding and topping off fluids just transfer a cup full to something that is easier to handle like a measuring cup. No need for a funnel. In fact for these reserviors we want to watch that level while we top off. Note also that the high point in a system is where the air will tend to collect. The bleeder valves can just be cracked opened to allow the air to escape and closed as soon as a stream is coming out. You are right to attempt to capture and reuse it all but the little that would be caught by a shop rag is fine. Keep posting - great work!
@@EyeOnAiman I believe I am having the same issue in my 2015 Toyota Prius. Initially I thought its the pump not working so causing the leak, I had to fill the reservoir after every 100 miles so I replaced the inverter pump but still no luck. So what is the name of that yellow color electric device you used in removing the bubbles? Thank you!
You could put your finger on the reservoir side of the tube and block it before releasing the other side of the tube from the bleeder valve. This will stop coolant from spilling.
Awesome video. I have a few questions: Does turning the ignition on but not the engine automatically circulate the coolant? And is there a relay that needs to be jumped? Thanks
Great video thank you but I have a question for you I just replaced my coolant inverter valve pump do I just have to bleed the coolant inverter or do I have to bleed the whole system ? Like the radiator I used the the same fule clamp!
Thank you. Omg I had the engine running while bleeding and was wondering when the air bubbles would stop 3 minutes in and having to keep filling inverter reservoir up lol
I replaced the pump with a Toyota dealer one. I followed steps but my new pump doesn't pump the coolant back to the reservoir. It makes lotta noise while I'm driving. What do u think is the problem
kid, thank you so much, changed the HBAC heater controller water valve and was getting overheating signals and the red triangle and it’s probably cuz i didn’t bleed the system after draining and refilling the coolant
Aiman I know you are young and just learning but when the hose kept falling out of the reservoir I couldn't stop laughing. However, you made up for your inexperience by having an assistant for a camera person. Too many videos are done without someone holding the camera and sometimes it's so difficult to watch while the person is working on the car and holding the camera with their other hand. I think you will become an expert soon enough.
There isn’t a drain plug for inverter system that I am aware of. Disconnect the lower hose going to the inverter. Both are in between the engine and inverter. Just have something to catch the inverter coolant that come out.
I'm in desperate need of assistance! My inverter bleed bolt won't loosen at all, and I'm not applying full strength to it because the metal piece that's holding it starts to bend and I'm afraid it will snap. I'm reluctant to put WD-40 on it because, well I don't know what I'm doing and don't know if it will get into the coolant. Any advice would be very appreciated as nothing I search comes back with this specific problem. And thank you sir for your videos, I have no car knowledge whatsoever and was able to do the pump replacement with little trouble!
Since your post is 2 months old I'm assuming your must have resolved your problem by now. However, if you still didn't I would recommend holding the part that may bend with either pliers or ViceGrips. It also can't hurt to spray the area with WD40. It won't get inside. Good luck.
I just replaced my inverter pump. It’s working. My problem is when I perform bleeding procedures the coolant won’t go all the way through the tube back to the reservoir.
@@josephandrews2353 good to hear, in my case turns out the brand new pump that I got was bad so I went back to the store and did an exchange and everything's working fine now. The only downside was I was not able to bleed it because for some reason the pumpkin did not give out enough pressure but things are still working fine.

Easy, except getting that damn lil’ electrical connector off! :)
I’m working on my 08 Prius and this is the best video on TH-cam on how to bleed air from the inverter coolant system, thank you sir!
Thanks for the compliments and thanks for watching. ..
How long did it take you to bleed all of the air out. I assume you didn't have that Airlift system that speeds up the process.
I had to replace that silver cylinder in front of the driver's wheel. Can anybody tell me what it is and how to refill it? TIA
You are smart guy. All your videos is very good. Love it. I fixed my Prius watching your videos.

Hi, can you please share what size hose you bought to fit the bleeder valve?
Update: I used 1/4" ID x 3/8" OD tubing successfully
I had to melt mine a bit then it fit over it lol
Thanks! Good point to run the pump by not turning engine on!
Greatest video Prius owners should watch. Those bubbles are killing me.
Thanks for compliments. Were you able to bleed the inverter succesfully?

Thank you for the video. I wanted to know if I should bleed the engine system first or the inverter. Thank you.
I am proud of you! Keep working hard . It’s a great video!
Thank you very much for making this video. It's very clear.
Thanks mahn im really learnt alot from your video..GodBless..
Thank you sooooo very much! Very smart “bench bleed” idea.
Excellent video. Did you make a video on how to replace the inverter pump?
Thank for your time and sharing your knowledge " know how and know what " wish you the best and keep go on .

What is the name of that white hose? Where I can get it ?
Would you know front end jacking point for Prius.

Thank you! I appreciate it! Thanks for watching!

Normality takes 15-20 minutes for bleeding, allow the car to run, even if ts a good flow its better give it extra 5 minutes just be safe.
say you added new in the top as you drained it out the bleed. How much do you think one would add before the new now came out the bleed screw.
where can i get the repair sheets that you have to see in color all car parts?
very good idea
Thank you
Why the coolant not going up in the hose when bleeding inverter coolant
Mine still has air in it after like 30 minutes how long do you hold the hose until no more air?? I replaced the inverter coolant pump..
What brand coolant (antifreeze) did you use?
Great video, but 6:13 was my favourite
does anyone know if there's a video for a changing the hybrid system coolant for 2006 toyota highlander hybrid ?
Video starts @ 2:07
Question please do I need to add fluids to that reservoir or just leave it alone
thank you sir it's helpfull
Thank you for taking the time to comment and thanks for watching...
Perfect 👍
Is there a cheep fluid I can use? The Toyota brand is pretty high
No

when you purged the air bubbles, I didnt hear the running pump noise. Isnt it supposed to run when you bleed bubbles?
I’m pretty sure the pump is quiet
I’m somehow missing the air connection?
When changing the interval coolant pump . When drain plug do I unplug ?

I have question please inverter coolant same with radiator coolant for toyotapirus I am confused
Yes it's the same pink coolant from the dealership
10 millimeter, the most common used size on any import vehicle. " made you a better technician, you're welcome.
my bleeder valve is stuck

Cool beans
Where do I buy that clear plastic hose?
Aquarium shop has all kinds of sizes.

what size???
What size tubing
How soon should heat thru the dash return after the bleed process?
Shouldn’t effect heat
What if there's no flow?
Maybe the bleeder valve stuck, try taking the bleeder screw out completely. Otherwise there is a blockage somewhere in the hose, kinked maybe??
what happened next Marc?
👏👏👍👍👍
#10 socket XD
You are NOT bleeding the inverter but the transaxle...that's what the bleeder screw is for....
Do not listen to this man above. He was indeed bleeding the inverter coolant in the video. The transaxle isn't bled.
Dude, go back and do your homework 😂
Talk too much
Thank you, good info
