The HG Victory Gundam, just like this V2, is an impressive HG. It does not disappoint! No transforming gimmick either, and it gives a core fighter as well
The Armor version of this kit is even better! You can build between this version and the 3 armor configurations. Much more practical to buy that version, although it doesn't come with the effect pieces the standard V2 comes with.
@@GojiraFan-in9oo tried using a coat of grey paint to make it more secure and it didn't really help with 2 or 3 coats. I ended up just glueing them in place
This is a pleasant surprise sir! I really wanted to try a HG Victory 2 Gundam but was hesitant since it was old and the AB ver has no beam effect parts. After watching this, I am going to get one! Thank you very much!
Outro (Winners Forever) much the same as the intro. It's like taking a bite of a beautiful sandwich with golden buns only to find out the meat inside is rotten, cheese moldy, etc.
Honestly, I'd like to see you review the original 1980 RX78, especially since it was reissued in that special 3 pack with the HGUC and RG RX78. Yes, I just want to see the world burn with how he'd go about reviewing the old clunker.
I got the HG Victory/V-Dash Gundam and it was pretty similar to this in terms of quality. It has similar articulation and has the same fragile V-fin as the V2. I was definitely satisfied with it, and I'm currently in the process of customizing mine. And you get the Victory Hexa head included as well, which can be useful for customized builds.
I wish it didn't come with the core fighter and instead gave us the wings of light effect parts. I hate hate hate how they're only available as a stand-alone premium Bandai kit which is now impossible to find at a sane price.
I've built the P-Bandai Second V kit and it is indeed fantastic. I always liked the original Victory design over the V2, and so an upgraded Victory is just the thing I wanted. The added weapons look so much better than the V2 Assault / Buster parts.
Second V is like a version 1.5 between victory and V2 assault buster. it also got that cool shield thats properly color separated and the bits can detach, unlike assault buster's pitiful sticker-laden shield
Great review as always ✨ would love to see more review from the Gundam Build Fighters Amazing Ready like the HG M91 Gundam and Tall Strike Gundam Glitter
I Do like that you started to panel line your kits in reviews, Before you could never make out those cool details!! with lower resolution phones and laptops like mine. Love the little bit of extra effort!! More premium feel of videos and reviews
Most new HG molds since the HG 00 Gundam in 2008 have featured pretty similar joint construction. The major advancement was in 2013 when they introduced soft polystyrene for the joints and a smaller polycap runner; the new soft plastic made the use of polycaps between major joints unnecessary. Sometimes Bandai incorporates some novel engineering in HGs like in the revive line's waist joints (at the cost of their ankles lol), Infinite Justice/Knight's hips, and Destiny's shoulders, but they all feature the same basic construction, barring some really unusual designs (Fine build system, Vagan suits, Bandai being lazy with Unicorn HGUCs and using the 1999 polycaps for some reason, etc.). Can't go too wrong.
I had the assault buster version of this and it was great for the most part. It was kinda loose on the back booster part tho because of the added arsenal of weapons and the stickers for the shield wasnt great.
The HG Victory is almost identical, but it has a slightly better elbow bend. I also really like the blue on that kit over the more traditional Gundam blue on the Victory 2. I would recommend the P-Bandai Second V because it has fantastic color separation across the entire kit and I think it's the best iteration of the Victory. Unfortunately, it's too damn expensive.
Mechagaikotsu, I would love to see you review the HGUC Gaplant kits, both the standard and the TR-5 Hrairoo. The Hrairoo is one of my favorite AoZ kits and its almost a perfect-transformation (the original Gaplant is a perfect transform and comes with a booster).
I've built the HG Victory gundam and they are kind of the same both of them have a delicate V-fin but I think it is better but the other one is still great though I loved it!! keep the good work Mecha Gaikotsu
HG Wing Gundam Fenice if you want to add that to your old Gundam review series, Mecha. I had a good time with building it, the Italian flag on this kit works great for the Wing Gundam.
That's pretty easy to do with Victory HG kits. I did the same thing with both of the updated V-Dash Gundam's V-fins (the one for the head and the one for the core fighter). I was able to fix it with superglue, but now I usually use the Hexa head instead.
Ive always thought the v2 looks like what u would get if u combined a fighter jet with a gundam. The vents on the head give me harrier vibes and the generwl aesthetic gives me a kinda Lockheed martin vibes
Really enjoying these older reviews! Would love to see your take on some of the early 2000s Gelgoogs that just got re-released like the Gelgoog Cannon, Marine, and Cima Custom!
I think the HGUC Victory is a lovely kit. It's very solid unlike the MG and just has a separate core fighter like V2. Though if you get one I'd suggest the V-Dash kit since it's literally just the original Victory HGUC but with more option parts.
Mecha: reviews past-released gunplas Gunpla stores & sellers: *stonks* But seriously some of his reviews bumped that specific model's sales in my country
Looking at V2's design makes me wish that Bandai would make an HG version of the RE1/100 GP04, though I kind of doubt they will since it's pretty much the most popular RE1/100 to date.
2014 maybe a long time ago to most people but you gotta remember that's when gooood ol build fighters try was happening and if you've never built like a build burning or another build fighters try hg, they're solid little kits.
Say, would you rather have joints that are unfaithful to the line art but feature better articulation, or joints that look faithful to the source material but have less articulation? For that matter, would you rather have thighs that can rotate all the way around but have an unnatural cut (The HGUC V2 right here), or thighs that are more restricted but look better (e.g. MG Jegan)? I'd be curious about your take on the HGUC Victory and Second V, since the changes Bandai made for the Second V were basically what I described above. Personally, I prefer the Second V even though it has slightly less articulation.
Lets see you review the Dendrobium Orchis. Assuming you can get your hands on one. Also it's a good thing you went with the Normal V2 over the V2 Assault type.
V2 definitely was a fun build. I can also say the same about the V1, though I will admit I got the V1 Dash instead of the standard. Best I can tell, The V1 Dash has all the parts to build the V1 with a few extras for the Dash booster pack, a long beam rifle, a core fighter with the dash pack (and maybe some parts for the actual fighter... again, didn't get the standard). Would warn the Dash parts are not very color accurate compared to the suit.
I believe its just a deep yellow. I personally always envisioned the V2 with a true chrome gold look, so I used a metallic gold and metallic blue gundam marker to color mine.
Nice. As for old kits I'd wanna see: HGUC Zaku I sniper type. Possibly odd one but it's interesting. Edit: Specifying not talking about the Yonem Kirk version.
