We really need that modern MG of the Stardust Memory Gundams. The GP01FB is such an amazing design and if anything, I'd love for it to get the next MG Ver. Ka treatment
It really is ashame that we dont have a decent model kits for Stardust Memory lineups. Most of my favorite mobile suits are from there. Absolutely love the more militaristic feel to all the mobile suits there. The GMs, the Gundams themselves, Zaku II F2 Type, even the Gelgoog Marines. Who else are with me?
I built the HG GP01 about a week ago and I personally really like how it turned out. Putting in the extra effort in detail painting and panel lining really makes that old kit shine and it is honestly one of the best looking HGs on my shelf. If you however don’t want to do any detail painting at all, prepared to be disappointed when your yellow V isn’t yellow.
They were churning out RX78-2's so often they ran out and had to start doing RX-78-3 through 6. I don't know if I should brag that 0083 was first in line or complain that it was a beta test years ago and if the God Gundam can get a RG the Zephyranthes can get a refresh.
Stardust memory is one of my top fav gundam anime, the story and characters are really memorable and good, imo. And let alone has some of the best mecha designs from the 90's era for gundam.
"We're in the middle of a battle here abd you start giving speeches." "You're a soldier here, aren't you? If you wanna be more than just a grunt you better learn to see the full picture.' "Uh yes. Yes, sir" "Ugh. *I'M THE ENEMY YOU IDIOT!!*"
The waist is quite bad, transformation gimmicks in small kits almost never work well and they shouldn't have force it in there. Other than that though I agree. The joints are not that bad and it looks absolutely amazing.
My local gunpla pusher had one copy the PG of the GP01/FB, but it was sold before I could get it. That’s probably the best version and the MG GP03 is fine. The FB in Real Grade was my first gunpla. I didn’t think it was bad at all at the time, I was mostly just amazed at how well it all went together and how much fun I had assembling it. It’s held up well too despite the premold frame.
I think Stardust Memory is in need of more love from Bandai. Majority of their model kits are from the late 90s and early 2000s and the early 2010s RG kits. A RG 2.0 line would be awesome to see.
The Robot Damashii's of 0083 aren't just some of the best versions of these suits, but just overall some of the best output this line of figures as ever had. It just sucks that anything 0083 that you want in a more high quality figure has to come from this line though. I got the FB like you and I was hooked enough to get the Gp02, Gm Custom, and Dom Tropen.
I really want Bandai to give us revive kits for Stardust Memory’s main Gundams, so just like was seen in this video I can have the GP-02 vs GP-01FB beam saber clash we see at the end of the first opening of Stardust Memory.
Getting into plastic models kinda turned me off of figures altogether because I don't feel any satisfaction in buying a figure and putting it in the shelf right away and the figures are just too pricey that I could get a couple master grades instead. To bad we don't have a good and modern model kit representation of Stardust Memory :(
Speaking of vigorous effect parts, you really undersold how VIGOROUS the effect parts for the RG Sazabi's beams are. I have them backlit with some blue LED strips and the vigorosity is off the charts ! And I'm definitely gonna be looking forward to that Gerbera video, I never really see anything about it so it'll be cool to see how the figure looks.
This is too much of a coincidence ive been on a UC binge and literally just finished stardust memory today, immediately wanted kits of each gundam and lo and behold thanks mecha
of course it won't be a Mechagaikatsu video without being so exaggerated on reviewing kits like the "ERGS" which not all RGs are that bad I have most old RGs like RX 78, Freedom, Zaku 2, Sinanju, Zeta and etc and some of them have issues but NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL like I can fix those problems with ease. They are plastic models and as a Modeler it's part of the fun fixing Problems and Issues to improve your Model
Personally, I'd rather take all of that energy and money being put into fixing problems and use to it be creative instead. That's why I want things to work out of box, especially when it comes to stability. So yeah, it's a pretty big deal to me.
I want justice for 0083. None of the existing kits or figures quite capture the coolness of the mobile suits in the anime; the proportions are all slightly off. Please, Bandai, show Stardust some love 😢
If you haven't checked out the MG GP03, I really think its a great kit! It's obviously an older kit, but honestly some of the engineering in that kit feels way ahead of its time and I loved building it! It really stands out from the other MG kits from Stardust Memory

I actually really like the RGs. Had the shoulder on mine kind of implode so it's really loose, but it should be fine if you don't ham fist it. Posing is already a different matter though when it comes to those early RGs.

Agreed. If you do a bit of work it looks almost like the RG.
Built mine too. Also got myself a GP01 Stamen. The claws are cool.
Remember. He’s not a fan of older kits and he is a bit of a lazy builder
Stardust Memories really got the short stick in the model kit department

If there’s anyone that could legitimately make a MECHA GUNPLA ARMY, its Gaikotzu! With all of the backlog and built kits he has, it would be possible…
The RG GP01 really isn't that bad.
i agree. I never had any "handgranate" feeling when i handle the GP01 and the FB
agreed. The kits are awesome. You just need to know how to handle them

It’s criminal we haven’t had 2.0 of these mg yet
I was just complaining to my wife today that Bandai needs to put out some updated kits from this series. The GP02 is my go to Gundam mobile suit.
The Stardust Memory grunt suits, at least the GMs in my experience are really nice and hold together super well

Idk i got my rg gp01 fairly recently and i didnt have any of the issues you had, i found it was a pretty good kit all in all
I've had mine for over 7 years, and it still holds up.
I just finished the MK II 2.0 MG and it was such a great build. SDM was a pretty good show, dunno if I would want some gunpla of it.

Bandai… where is RG GP02!?
I think my first ver anime was RX78 and the Johnny ridden zaku. These guys are awesome. I’m glad they’re doing a ver anime line of Seed suits

it would be hilarious if they made a mg darilbalde with old master grade tech so that it falls apart when you touch it to make it anime accurate.
This is too much of a coincidence ive been on a UC binge and literally just finished stardust memory today, immediately wanted kits of each gundam and lo and behold thanks mecha

I’ve built the hg GP02 and for an older kit it is actually very good. Joints are solid with a good build and articulation, just a lot of stickers.
The old school animation is far more appealing than what we have now

Men of Destiny is awesome but I vastly prefer Back to Paradise. That montage in Episode 1 of the ground MS training is peak Top Gun(dam).

Woaw! That Darilbalde came outta nowhere. I am lost now. Haha. Anyway, Zephyranthes badly need a 2.0 right now. And GP02 too!
The GP02 being normal sized when he seems bigger is something the ZZ does too.
there are plenty of great old models that need the "the Origins" treatment.
You could just get Bright Noa to slap you around. You would save a couple hundred bucks that way.
