Mason Semrad because youtube judges( or at least used to judge) which videos to present to people first by how many likes people gave them. If there are more likes that means people want to watch it and it is better to present that stuff a page previous to less liked things. They want a serious thought put into the likes, not an impulsive push. would you actually recommend this to others or did you like the joke at the end.
Not related but i think that's why the usernames on the comments are also blue. They want actual comments put in, not hazing and hatemail.

I'd expect red to be beneficial in fast paced games where individual aggression is good. Blue on the other hand would be better for slower paced and team based games.
To be honest, this probably has been one of the most helpful Game Theories ever.

He wasn't happy with the lack of structure in his life so he joined the military and told his sister he was drafted to make himself feel better about leaving her. He met Simmons in basic and parrotted the same reasoning, only revealing he enlisted to his sister in season 17 to get her to calm down in the Labyrinth.

This just reminds me on how many years ago when I played some Age of Empires 2 with my cousin we always used to say that the red AI always seemed stronger for some reason, like if the units had more HP or deal more damage just by the watching their colors. Now it makes sense...

I play Heroes of the Storm and on that game your team is always Blue and enemy is always Red, no matter on which side you are.

Actually, in LoL, I remember a video where either the blue or red minions had better range and would actually do better. I forgot which one it was but I do know one had 300 units of range and the other only had 280.

The game Robocraft has a loophole around this colour stuff. If you're in a game, your team colour is blue, while the enemy team is red. BUT, for the enemy team they are blue while your team is red. So... both teams are blue and red at the same time.
That's a good system.

About League, Red has disadvantages because because the UI is in the way and people are more comfortable from Blue side's viewing perspective because left to right mouse movement is reminiscent of writing in English. We view things from left to right as well, so coming from the right corner of the map is a disadvantage. Also, why would we gain the effects of red colors in a FPS when you see more blue than you do red? You only see your red arms, you see much more of their blueness than your redness.

its not the bottom-to-above that matters so much is that the HUD gives blue more view of the enemy than red gets.
Actually, the study was taken from the lcs, were all of the players play with an unlocked camera, making the difference in camera angles not exist.

incorrect, sir. If you unlock your camera and move down to give yourself equal view of the enemy's zone on red as they have on blue, you give you more view behind you, making yourself easier to gank, your escape is harder to keep track of. all in all, locked or unlocked your SA is reduced.
Exactly, I hate how the red attacks downward, where the main parts of the hud are, it blocks your view more and effects the game as well.

Hypothetically, an easy fix to this should be to make it so that the player is always on the "red" team. AKA on your screen, your team is always red, and your enemies are always blue, but on your OPPONENT'S screen, YOUR team is blue, and THEIR team is red.

Athesiel Icosiel GTA V kinda does this, but makes your team blue and the enemy red, and vice versa. However, if games do this, I think there should be some sort of disclaimer because it does get pretty confusing if you're used to standard team colors.

ABOUT CHESS: I took a short one week class on chess, here's the reason white goes first: Original colors were black and red, no one wanted red because they thought that it meant the "evil side" (as explained in the video above ^^). So, they let red go first so that more people would like being red.
They later changed the colors to black and white because it looked better and was easier on the eyes.

That would make sense why on r6 defense is usually blue to make u calm and wait for the enemy, while attack is red(well orange but) bc u HAVE to get in and play aggressive bc ur on a time limit

Good episode, but there is one thing that is just plainly WRONG (maybe because of a lack of research)
In League of Legends, the blue team has an advantage because:
1. the map is not 100% symmetrical
2. the way you pick your characters is based on what side you play as (blue side picks first)
3. the CAMERA ANGLE is towards the RED side, so that when the camera is centered on your character you can see more of the RED side, so you have a way better overview of what's happening when playing as the BLUE team.
oh and btw, the team colors are blue and PURPLE, not red :)

When I was in highschool we were the blue devils and our biggest rivals were a team that wore red. We dominated everyone and it was basically 50 / 50 with these guys. Very interesting.
Looking back on my childhood, my favorite color was red and my older brothers was blue. He was always more calculating with his decisions where I was always more think it, do it, dominate it.

RIcky Kandle purple is a mix of red and blue so i guess it gives you agression and creativity at the same time.
I already knew that the blue and red light had effects on us that's why i sometimes leave my window open so that when the morning comes the light makes me wake up relaxed, works everytime, but i didnt think that it could make difference like this in gaming
