I would have to disagree, I have fitted it out for touring and have done 400km in a day on rough country roads 120-130 km and its was perfectly fine. I just installed a windshield, and the progressive handle damping system from KTM. (I don't live in the usa but)
the #1 feature of this bike and you didnt even mention it !!! QUICK SHIFTER and AUTO BLIPPER !! i guess the american market dont get the latest dash as over here in the uk our version has the rev counter and gear indicator to make it a bit more civilised but what a bike i collected my new 690 last month and i put my super duke r in for it so that says something about this 690..
Funny you're testing the 690. So, after I sold my Multi V4S, I had the itch for something dirt oriented. My dealer tried to push me on a DesertX allocation, but I ended-up buying a 690 Enduro and I couldnt have been happier. If you are ever in Montreal, hit me up and we can go out in the trails :D
I think the KTM is a better bang for your buck but the electronics in the Ducati are superior. I would buy a KTM 690 SMCR before I would buy the Hyper. JMHO

A little correction. The bike does have compression and rebound adjustment on the rear shock.

This bike must have the lowering kit installed, as the stock seat height is 35” / 890mm.
