    We actually unintentionally taught our Cockapoo puppy to bring her toys to us🙂, when we threw her toy playing fetch we said 'go get your toy' or 'where's your toy?'. Now anytime we say that she goes and brings her toy to us 😁 So cute!!!💕 She's been such a quick learner with everything, the 2nd day we had her she already learnt sit and stay (no training before we got her). I watched a lot of your videos before we got her, so helpful! She's already 10 months old. She's such a sweetheart.

    Hey Rachel, thank you so much for all your videos, they’ve helped me out a TON.
    I have two puppies (a Maltese mix and a golden retriever) and i’ve never had any prior experience with dogs, I’ve never had a dog growing up, no one around me had them so i knew NOTHING about having a dog.
    My first dog is now two years old and the second one is eight months old and they are absolute angels, very well behaved thanks to your videos.

    My dog is definitely a super chewer. He is extremely motivated by food and treats. Thanks for this video that encourages the dog to be rewarded with playing instead of treats. Mine will not focused either on the toy if I compensate with treat.

    My puppy does this. I taught him when he was 6 or 7 month old. Now he is 13 month old and loves to play this to get chicken 😀
    I start with clean up then ask him to drop in the box. Hoping one day I say cleanup and he picks all his toys drop them in box one by one😂

    I love the idea of trying out different toys in a subscription box like that. Just didn’t work for us because my pup is very sensitive to some of the treats. We don’t know the exact ingredients that cause her a tummy upset. She’s a rescue. Wish there’s a box that gives just toys without the treats

  • @beet4416

    I used a different approach but the same concept. I change the command word to "clean up". So then we clean up after playing with toys.

    Hey girl, I know this isn’t about/in the video but I’m getting a new puppy soon and everyone leaves to go to work/school in the mornings n come home 8hrs or more so no one can’t watch him or have him go out to pee.. I don’t know how to potty train n have him know about pee pads. I rlly don’t want him peeing everywhere.. any suggestions? Or advice?

    • @lllily94
      @lllily94 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d avoid the pee pads as whole tbh! my puppy picked up potty training so quick by doing so!You will learn your puppies bathroom queues (like sniffing around ) eventually but Rachel recommend taking that first week with your puppy to really work on these kinds of things! but yes also cutting off food and liquids off at certain times helps avoid accidents

    • @ccap3211
      @ccap3211 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lllily94 a puppy can only go about an hour for every month old they are. So a 2 month old needs to go out every 2 hours, all day and all night. I agree you should have a week off with your puppy. You should at least go home on your lunch breaks. If you can’t then maybe get a friend or pay someone from Rover to take your puppy out while you’re at work. You can’t leave a puppy out running around your house for 8 hours while you’re at work without potty breaks. They will have accidents. And it will make potty training difficult.

    My dog is 4 months old. I get really boring and still with my dog to get her to drop the toy, but she just starts pulling more. I waited for a while once to get her to let go. What would I do about that?

    • @juliepippin5056

    • @ccap3211
      @ccap3211 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@juliepippin5056 I started out bringing really high value treats outside like liver or gizzards. Idk if that will work for you but it helped with my dog. And I always gave the toy right back to him after he dropped it. That makes him more likely to drop it in the future. He’s gonna hold onto it if he thinks he’s never going to get it back. Or you could wait til she just drops it on her own and then say “good drop it” and give her a treat. Maybe she’ll catch on and do it herself. Just some ideas. It’s trial and error. Good luck!

    I love you and I hope you don’t take this as hate or anything bc I think you’re great but you never mention that the Barkbox comes with treats most of which you would never feed your own dogs. I know you can ask them not to send any treats but then it’s not such a good deal if you’re paying that much just for a couple toys. Idk it just comes off as not totally honest.

    • @RachelFusaro
      @RachelFusaro  2 ปีที่แล้ว
