Cecelia (F/24) and I (F/23).were like best friends, since the very beginning. We never had any sort of sibling rivalry, any sort of weird tension between us even though there were very obvious differences between us and the differences were evident, since the very beginning. Cecelia was the nerdy kind and as for me, I was the fashionista, not so much into studies but into arts, crafts and other activities.

Last story- the OP is NTA. The father could have given his seatmate in economy his child's more expensive ticket and let his child move to economy with him, but father was banking on getting both himself and the kid the more expensive seats by trying to get OP to give up HER more expensive seat. Eff that shizz!

Exactly, why should OP have to give up his seat that he paid extra money for a stranger? No the dad should have given up his seat or his son seat. Not get mad at a complete stranger

I would say the father put the kid there deliberately, not to get the more expensive seat but knowing whoever was in the seats on either side wouldn't want to give them up so free childcare for the flight and he could chill knowing his kid was someone else's problem

I think it's the absolute wrong thing for him to do and for the kids. Now that their bio parents are an actual couple, as they should have been all along as obviously Cecilia really "loves" Simon, the kids should go with them. They're not Alexios' kids in any way. I also wonder if he's keeping them to control Cecilia. I can't imagine a man wanting to keep his wife's TWO affair babies and raise them - it would be a constant reminder of what she did. It sounds highly abnormal.

His dad asked if I could book the emergency exit seat for him for the leg room (he uses a cane). That flight story.. it would be fair only if he gets back the extra amount paid.. but sleep deprived, 'needing' extra comfort (needing not wanting) suggests that he is particularly exhausted.. the commentors mentioning YTA are the actual AHs, who are commenting without consideration themselves about his not considering the issue from that dad perspective..
And why the hell did the dad didn't give that expensive seat to 'his' neighbour instead..
And why didn't he check at the time of booking about the separation?
And why the hell did he speak about OPs personal belongings?
And did he request the flight authorities? And if the flight didn't change the seat after request, then it's a genuine case, and he didn't have the right to argue..
And why did he not instilling the adjustment quality in the child?

@@lillypharaoh5945 Lily, you simply don't understand nature or you're being dishonest. Yes, you can and should love all the kids in your life, of course. But people will ALWAYS PREFER THEIR BIOLOGICAL CHILDREN. If you could ONLY save one kid and one was your bio kid and the other was a step kid....most people would save their bio kid. That is the way of nature and you cannot change it any more than men can become women or have babies or any of the other BS that people peddle now. It is better to deal with nature and recognize this rather than try to keep peddling a lie. Why do you think it is so common for boyfriends to harm or kill their woman's kids that are NOT their bio kids? Because that is nature asserting itself in a bad way. That is why we try to cultivate stable ways of handling these bad impulses through the nuclear biological family. It is critical that we go back to supporting biological families rather than just pretending that blended families work as well or are just as good. THEY'RE NOT.

@@lillypharaoh5945 You are only ONE case, Lilly and it doesn't mean anything. We can look at cases all across the culture and see that only the biologically based family works on any consistent level. Nature IS what governs us. I remember seeing a documentary that showed a male T-Rex attacking the baby of a Female to kill it to get the Female to mate with him, which she would only do if she had no infant. Now I know we have not been able to observe T-Rexes but this behavior is very common throughout the existing animal world. Because males are biologically programmed to leave their own DNA behind, it's built into their NATURE. That is WHY so many children are attacked or killed by BOYFRIENDS of women who are not the children's fathers. You are using your own personal example to willfully ignore the effects of this in society and in nature....which humans are a part of as much as any other animal. That is WHY we have codified laws like the ones in the Bible and other systems of belief to try to tame or regulate the NATURE within us that those people recognized as they were much wiser & with much more common sense than we who deny nature today in the artificial world we have built.

Story 2. OP you did the right thing by taking back the car and selling it. I realize why you got guilted into this terrible deal, but it is not your fault that your sister could not afford a car and you did not owe her one. I noticed that when she could not qualify for a car loan, your parents didn't step up to help and that told me a whole lot about the situation. As a parent of two grown daughters, I did see them struggle as young adults just getting started and my husband and I did help when we could. But we were not in a financial condition to be co-signing for cars or large loans because my husband had so medical issues and was looking at a forced retirement situation. We had to think about our own welfare and the fact that if we put ourselves into a risky financial situation by taking on debt at a time we were in an unstable situation we could end up not only hurting ourselves but causing our children even more financial stress if we ended up with more medical emergencies. It is not unloving to your kids, or your parents to be honest about not being able to help. It is being realistic. In the end my kids managed to make good decisions and figure their way through their emergencies, and we were able to do the same too.
Helping family and friends out when there is an emergency, and you can afford to is great. Putting yourself at financial risk and potentially getting yourself in a situation that will put you into the position of being a financial burden to your family you are trying to help just makes matters worse for everyone. I have learned long ago that in the event I have an emergency and I need a loan, and my bank tells me no, I am not qualified, I am going to need to back up and look again at what my options are. Often you can find out from your bank manager just exactly what you need to do to get qualified. Find out how much money you need to have for a down payment. Ask your family and friend group to help you with ideas and their experience, even if they can't give you money, they might know someone who needs to sell a car, or know someone who works near your job you can carpool with. Maybe there are some job leads you can follow, or someone close to where you work would love to have a roommate. OP, you tried to help but your sister did not keep up her part of the bargain, and since your parents did not step up to help you out when your sister dropped the ball. they have no real right to be upset with you at all. The car is yours, in your name, and since your sister has shown no real interest in paying you for it, it is time you get it back and get it off of your credit. You are being responsible. And I understand going through tough times and struggled, but your sister is not showing responsibility because she should be paying you what she agreed to every month before she does anything else with her money.

The father of the child ASKED if he could tolerate the kid and kept pushing it. He was taunting OP for not trading seats. If he did not want to know how his kid acted, he should not have asked.
And did he offer to reimburse OP the extra money he paid to have those seats? And if OP could pay to assure he had a certain seat, why didn’t the father do the same thing?
OP was not the AH. I am tired of people who do not want to go to the extra trouble or expense to insure that they get the seats they want and then try to guilt trip those who do go to that trouble into trading. I bet next time Dad makes sure that he and his son are seated together, even if he has to pay for it.

Wtf how is the lady in the last story the AH? The father is the AH 100%. Who books a flight for them and their 5yrold and gets them SEPARATE SEATS? And then Have the audacity to blame those who don’t swap? Flight tickets are expensive and they charge extra for damn near every convenience. She’s NTA.

I feel like I’m in bizarro world with all the YTA the OP got for the last story. The father of the 5 year old child clearly tried to get an “upgrade” without paying for it. It sucks when that happens. I fell for that twice in my life and each time the offending parent had a dupers delight smirk when the seats were switched, just fly with noise cancelling headphones they help a ton in those scenarios.

Airplane Story: NTA - Sounds like the Dad might have encouraged the kid to misbehave on purpose. Surely the person sitting next to Dad would have switched seats with the kid! This was NOT Dads intentions! Some airlines will NO longer book business class for kids under 10yrs of age unless accompanied by an adult for this very reason. If a child is flying solo they have specific seats so that the staff is aware, take them to restroom and can keep a watchful eye out.

#3 NTA If you had extra leg room than so did a young child. The father should have asked the person sitting next to him if they would like to move to his sons seat. I'm not paying extra for a seat then give it up, sorry, Why didn't the father take another flight to sit next to his child?

So everyone is supposed to be held hostage by spoiled children throwing temper-tantrums and the spoiled child-parents who themselves never learned the manners they fail to teach their children? This guy in story 3 is considered the A-hole because spoiled children held an entire plane metaphorically hostage by bad behavior and that is somehow the responsibility of the actual victim because "he could have just given them what they demanded by moving"

    • @thomasjoseph5876
      @thomasjoseph5876 2 ปีที่แล้ว

No, it was just a scam. You see this happening more and more since the airlines started charging people extra to sit in different sections of the plane especially if the plane has little to no 1st class or business-class seating.
A parent pays for the most expensive seat for their kid, which usually has more legroom like by the exits (this seat can cost up to a couple of hundred more), and a cheap one for themselves, and then they try to guilt the people sitting next to their kid to giving them their more expensive seat so they can sit next to their kid. A lot of people will either feel bad for the kid or they won't want to sit next to a young kid for a long flight so they foolishly give up their more expensive seat for nothing.
If you notice though, in this scam and others like it, the parent(s) never offer to have their kid who is sitting in a more expensive or upgraded seat, change with whoever the parent is sitting next to. Because the parents want the free upgrade.

I get it with the plane. I had an aisle seat because I have trouble getting up out of the seat after a long flight if I don't because I get so stiff. Two unaccompanied kids were at the window and middle seats. One brat had to get out to use the bathroom every 15 minutes the whole way across the country. I had to pull on the seat in front of me to be able to get up out of the seat and could tell it annoyed the person in front of me. I was EXHAUSTED by the time we got off the plane! I saw the kids with their mother in the airport and was tempted to tell her that she needed to take her daughter to see a doctor if she needed to go to the bathroom every 15 minutes.

Can a parent purchase a seat for his/her child NEXT TO SAID PARENT?!? WHY WAS A SMALL CHILD SEPARATED FROM HIS/HER PARENT SEVERAL AISLES AWAY?!?! ALSO, WHY WOULDN'T SAID PARENT INSIST ON BEING SEATED RIGHT NEXT TO SAID CHILD?!?! Said child was left UNPROTECTED & VULNERABLE to zexual a$$ault, bullying & even kidnap or grievous bodily harm by being in proximity of unknown/unrelated ADULTS. I would like to know W. T. F. Why couldn't the father get a person next him to change with the child so the kids next to him or he could have insisted that they be seated beside each other because (insert excuse ie scared to set with strangers, scared to fly ect) and either gotten seat's together or taken an early or later flight where they could. If those options don't work then offer to pay the difference between the seats plus extra for your inconvenience. Me i would have gave them the seats for no other reason than it's the right thing to do.

Last story those comments are absolutely ridiculous my partners kids don’t scream, all my cousins kids don’t scream, I find screaming kids are usually when the parents give in. Also I think it’s good that places and airlines are looking at charging people who have screaming kids. Just because you don’t care about your kid screaming doesn’t mean everyone else does.
It’s also commenters and parents like that, that make people dislike parents like why should just because you’ve got a kid mean you should be allowed to move people to your convenience as a result of bad organisation. There’s been more and more stories where parents expect people to live out of paid seats as one will get a paid seat like extra room or first class and then try to get free upgrades.
Even on family guy they show it Leggo my mego, Brian and stewie get last minute flight to France and a woman with child says that’s my husband and they said they didn’t have seats together abd Stewie says your bad planning is not my concern or an emergency.

Story 1: Welp.....there's no coming back from that. I think the police are the least important element in that story. Who cares if you called them or not - sister nuked the wedding. I would have let them fight it out. As for the horrible situation with these 2 degenerates - it's obvious that Cecilia never loved Alexio & loved Simon. She wouldn't have had 2 kids with him otherwise. 1 kid might be a "mistake", 2 kids is a way of life. They should be together but Alexio should NOT have taken these kids. It's very disrespectful to him and if Cecilia & Simon are now together, they should take care of their own children. As painful as it is to Alexio, he has no actual connection to these kids & C&S are their bio parents and hopefully now a couple, however wretched. I could never take those kids - every time I looked at them I'd think of how badly I was treated and how my life was wrecked by two evil people. Somehow I don't think this will last and I have to wonder if he's keeping the kids right now to get some control over C&S. He should give them up and start over entirely new - after the divorce of course. And hopefully Cecilia & Simon should stay together (with the kids) as neither should be inflicted on other people. It's always the quiet ones.....
