my air doesn't blow on all settings 1 2 3 4 5, when i change the mode of where to blow it makes some grind or a crank? do you know why or is this video the same problem I'm having
Hey joe... when I start my truck first thing in the morning 95% of the time it will blow heat regularly at all speeds but when I shut the truck engine off and turn it back on, I get nothing... just a click....occasionally as I'm driving it will come back on as normal...is this the resistor failing?
I replaced this resistor because my 03 Sierra stopped blowing thru the vents. It blew thru the defog and lower vents. It fixed it but still does this at highway speeds. Once I turn the truck off and come back a few minutes later it blows thru the fron vents. What could it be?
good to find this ...my fan does not work on LO speed , the rest work , i assumed it was the switch soooo... for sleeping in van while stealth camping and not wanting a roof vent fan setup is there a way to hook up the existing switch to operate the blower motor without the key in the accessory position ... 1999 chevy express
I have a 2007 Sierra. It's probably not ideal, but I ended up splicing two wires after I was unable to disconnect the back connector. The blower is working fine once again.
Fyi, there are 2 different kinds of resistor. We bought one it worked for a few months and stopped. Went to my mechanic he said we had the wrong one, they look almost the same, but they are different.

Check the pigtail connector make sure it's not burnt up and also make sure the resistor is correct for your wet up for example like dual climate control and such
in my experience yes the resistor actually is the relay for the motor when you put it in 5 or high. 9 times out of 10 its the the relay in the resistor has burned out that connection and the resistor needs to be replaced. if the resistor does not take care of the issue there is an interruption between the 5 wire that connects the resistor from the blower selection switch ( very rare only ever had that one time happen to me in 10 years) LONG STORY SHORT YES REPLACE YOUR RESISTOR FIRST , hope this helps
i'm sorry to pester you in the comments, but do you have the whole "go pro" stabilization package, with the drone and all...or just parts of it? I need to be able to get images in tight spots like you did. You included footage/perspectives most people would have left out - and it was really helpful

What if it works intermittently, like no setting works but then days later it works perfectly for a while

yes there is either one for automatic control or manual climate control
On my 2002 gmc sierra my ac speed control dont work on the 5th speed the other ones work what's wrong with mine

Mine is the opposite. All speeds work except 5. You think it's still the resistor?

Check your wiring connections. If connector at the resistor is bad (burned, melted or other deformed) replace wiring harness and resistor.
Would this apply if the front vents don't work but the rear works on a 99 suburban?
The blower dan for front and rear are on sperate circuits so if your front does not operate at all then yes this can apply
2005 sierra was on just fine went to back up then nothing at at blowing on any setting
Will that make it loud the higher you turn the knob the louder it gets but it is blowing
If the blower speed are really loud it's most likely a blower motor going out.

Mine worked this morning I get nothing even driving down to road and the fan is off I still can feel the air coming though
