This video was a lifesaver as my AC stopped blowing in my 05 Silverado a couple weeks back and the heat index in Missouri is 115+ this week! 45 minutes and $45 later and the fans have never blown better.
Fantastic video. And lots of help. BUT!. One thing to add. Eventually all my controls went out, (1-5), one by one. Which is why I watched this video. Replacing that part did help. But still, #3 doesn't work. And I know why. The harness is plugged into the resistor. So when the resistor burnt up, it burnt part of the harness. So I believe I'll need that too. Again, great video. Keep it up
Thank you 🙏 getting that back clip out was a pain in the ass but it worked once I got it replaced. At first I had only 1 2 and 3 that worked then nothing so I took a chance that this was the issue and it was 06 Silverado
I lost 5 shortly after my friend sold me his 05 GMC. Today after I turned it off, when I got back in none of the speeds would work. Got home, checked fuses, watched your video. Pulled kick panel, plug was loose. Got all 5 back. When we were kids my dad had this ole silverado that the fan would go out on. He was say kick the hell out of it and would would try to kick the bottom of that blower (it was probably an 85) I guess every other kick it would jiggle the acorns around so it could run for a while 😂
My blower motor wouldn't shut off with truck OFF. I have a 2006 2500hd. You have to specify whether or not you have "auto climate control " and rear passenger vents. I guess there's more than one resistor to choose from. Thx for the video..... project for the weekend 😮
Ive removed them on hundreds of chevys, the 03-07 gen are located on the radiator support on the underside, just disconnect battery for several minutes, then uses a 10mm ratcheting wrench you will have to lay underneath to locate them pretty easy as they’re yellow and black with a orange clip, there’s usually a rubber flap they are hidden by, but the orange is just a pin that’ll slide straight out with a small flathead then the yellow clip you push on the tap as you put outwards pressure on then vice versa, and if you hit a nice scan tool it’ll tell you which side is failing
Is there an odd ball configuration for the resistor? 2003 gmc sierra 1500 and every resistor I find has a different mounting position that doesn't work. Also the blowet is all the way to the right with the resistor behind and hard to get to.
Hey man - I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado with the V6 and it's got 99,600 miles. My Blower motor stopped working all together for a few months and it just turned back on. Its working now. Ever hear of that? Also, do you do a blower motor replacement for this as well?
I have a question about my 2005 Tahoe....I cannot figure out what is wrong with it. My climate control lights won’t even come on, therefore it doesn’t work. Every now and then it will come on and I can change the temperature and the either feet or defrost whatever. But if that light is not on. It’s stuck on whatever it was left on. Please help if you can.
That is crazy do you ever wash your truck Looks like you haven't wash that truck in Years Inside that truck looks like a sandbox I wonder why stuff don't work On that truck
“Put your seat back so you wife doesn’t question who’s been in vehicle” 😂 this man gets it. Haha
He's watching our for all of us

I’m in St. Louis and last week during the -10 to -20 weather mine stopped blowing 😅
That was definitely the problem! Never would’ve known without TH-cam, thanks for the vid
Thank you for watching!

Very good. About to do this today on a 2006.
I appreciate the video. I'm pretty sure this is my problem on my 07 classic. I'll post again with results after the procedure. Thank you

Thank you very much for showing this. You explain very accurately.
I’ll try to replace it for mine using your advice.
Appreciate you for saying the socket size.
First the 5 speed went out then one day it just didn’t turn on. It was burnt and also the wires for the resistor connector. Thanks for the video
Installing new resistor tomorrow, for me it's fan speed 4 that took a dump. Great video btw

Thank you. All my fuses were good but turns out this was the issue. $42 fix.
Thanks, great video and made the replacement very painless.
Pro tips... never forget pro tips.. great video.
Awesome tutorial simple nothing hard 🤙💯
Word to the wise. Use an OEM part. These units are notorious for failing and if you use aftermarket you're going to be doing it again sooner.
But the OEMs fail all the time. That’s why we’re here. I’m sure there’s a better quality aftermarket
My aftermarket lasted 6 weeks. Well, i need the exercise
Thank you for the video! Just replace the one on my truck…
Excellent presentation
Thanks for the great video. Helped me out.
Great video just did this on my two thousand six silverado
Another great video Dustin! Keep it going. Thank you

If you ever do a video of airbag sensor replacement on this gen, please tag me in it.

2001 -2002 1500hd has the old aluminum cone things instead of large green microchip thing. Hard to find not sure if it eould work rhe same
Is there an odd ball configuration for the resistor? 2003 gmc sierra 1500 and every resistor I find has a different mounting position that doesn't work. Also the blowet is all the way to the right with the resistor behind and hard to get to.
Mine stopped working on "5" and now has stopped working totally... is this part of the same issue?

Any vid on blower motor replacement?
Blower motor has a tab that you pull down then twist to the left and pull down.
Man those things have come down, in 2014 that thing was 400+$

I think your whole climate control panel is busted.
My connection harness to the resistor was melted, having to replace the connection harness. Such a sad moment when I realized it was ruined.
My 05’ Sierras blower fan will keep blowing even with the truck off. Buddy of mine said the resistor needs to be replaced, does that sound accurate?
Did it fix your problem. I have the same issue
@@baileyebert8791 I haven’t replaced it yet, but I’ll let you know
I replaced mine because the fan ran all the time ( even with the key off ) now it will not run at all. ???
My ac blows cold on hot setting and hot when i slide it to the cold setting wthhh
Maybe blend door actuator?
WHATS THE PART NUMBER?
I changed the plug and now 1-4 works but 5 doesn't..
Parts look totally different, 1 wide & 1 slim
Hey friend any chance you know where ac drain is in my 2008 gmc sierra 4x4 1500 ext cab?
Should be a little rubber tit coming from under the A/C dryer canister
Sometimes they get clogged up
th-cam.com/video/rRrR6goMNJc/w-d-xo.html
Now mine only works on 5 and it dosnt seat properly with the housing
Where’s the link?
I think it is easier to take the fan down to unhook the one clip

When you live out of the big city trucks actually get dirty. Funny thing is he washed it the day prior to the video
