As a Seattle fan, I'm going to miss this place. Everything sounds so familiar with all the countless games we've played the A's in there, listening on the radio and watching on TV. Especially those drummers who never get tired of it!
I think it’s super cool that Dustin collects commems! Definitely a super cool thing for you two to have in common! As for the coliseum, the weird quirks of it such as that box, the random stair cases that lead to nowhere, the layout, etc, those random aspects make the place all the more unique and glorious. Fans can talk about new stadiums all they want, but there’s just a special feeling about being at an old fashioned/one of kind ballpark such as Oakland. Especially in its last few years.
It’s a shame that the A’s are leaving Oakland. I used to take BART with my kids to the games. Seeing it so empty makes me sad. I blame the selfish owner AND the government officials for the city of Oakland. They tried to move to San Jose (not too far from Oakland), but the San Francisco Giants stopped that because they had a minor league team there (even though there are more people and have more income down there). Oakland lost their basketball team (Warriors), their football team (Raiders), and now they will lose their baseball team. I hope Vegas treats them well.
I blame the economy as well. You have to think this area used to be a booming area with higher than normal income. It could support 3 major sports teams. Now, the area is the least poor out of San Jose and San Francisco. These teams need to sell a lot of tickets, especially the high price suites and Vip members, to support the team. Also selling just generally tickets. It costs more to keep the lights and water on than how much tickets were sold during this game. Also, due to the area, it's just not favorable. It is a pretty poor area with a decent crime rate
Last game I went to there was 20 years ago or so. The upper deck was mostly empty. I saw a fight break out on the upper deck where two people were trying to throw each other over the rail. Security took forever to get there. A few minutes later, two drunk chicks walked up to the front of the aisle and flashed the batter about 10 ft away from me. I'm a Giants fan, but that was a fun game.
I love the atmospheres at these games in Oakland. Reminds me of the 1980s, when crowds were smaller and their collective personalities were more, I don't know how to put it, like they were in these two videos. Just there to watch the game and enjoy themselves and enjoy baseball. I said this in a comment on the last video too, but I'm going to miss the A's being in Oakland.

Right man you just had to be there. Same crowds you would see at the raiders games. Even though the As were never really that good the fans always made the games feel like the team was something special. Made you want to go to the games just because of how wild it got
Wow that was a sad time - the 80s - for the As. Because attendance was so bad, a college radio station actually broadcast the Athletic games - not carried the national feed but actually had two students do the broadcast. Not as bad as in the 70s when a low-powered FM high school station carried the games for part of a season. 10 watts at the time.
The "Holy Toledo" tribute sign was even shaded out (11:48). Wow. Even the late A's /Raiders PBP announcer Bill King can't even get love in the coliseum's waning days.
Me and my friends found that same suite when we went to the A's and Giants games! We originally had pretty crappy seats and stumbled across that open suite, pretty nice view for the games!
Man Zack I was actually at this game sitting in the left field bleachers. Would’ve been great to meet you, the man capable of living out his dreams. I really respect you. That said, we can all sense how ownership has killed this franchise. Killing the product on the field, reducing the fan experience off of it, while doubling ticket prices. Then we can’t get excited about the young guys because we may have no future in Oakland. Anyways man, thanks for coming out and showing our history some love.
I recall the days when the fans bought cheaper upper deck seats and then sat nearly the whole game in the lower bowl... No wonder the upper deck was closed and other seats increased... The fans dug their own hole...
I like seeing you visit these late season teams with limited attendance. Makes the foul ball hunt seem fun. Everyobe there was so happy to see you too.
It's hard to believe how old some of these stadiums have gotten, like this one. Fifty-seven years old! Opened in 1966 at the dawn of the cookie-cutter, circular multi-use stadium boom. Between the A's and the Raiders, it became quite a historic venue. Sad it's all about to come to an end as time marches on.
i'M A HUGE A'S FAN. I was lucky enough to go to tons of games from 71' to 75' including playoffs and World Series. I'm in San Diego now and love watching your A's video's. Thank you for putting together these fun videos to watch. Brings back great memories.
Ahhh....I have spent many and I mean many afternoons there watching Billy Ball and of course there for The Silver and Black from the time they came back and now gone AGAIN. Section 121 row 23! I hear you on it being sort of weird, but between the A's and Raider's I have had a heavy heart in that place for decades. Long live OAKTOWN!

Great catch in the third deck Zack, we worked A's home games this season we remember this game Filipino Heritage night and you and Dustin Hughes playing catch does it get any better than that? Oh yes your own suite.
The A's team and their fans both deserve a new ballpark, in Oakland. We were in the old Municipal Stadium built in 1932 that had wooden seats, peeling lead paint, and clogged up facilities. Passing that levy changed Cleveland forever for the better. Get it done Oakland!
Yep, you revealed why very few billionaire owners buy their new stadiums, and expect the city to fork over some of the dough for a public facility that has NO value after the team leaves... Sportsman Park, Connie Mack Stadium, Comiskey Park, Ebbetts Field, the list is long... Old derelict stadiums are demolished... Filthy rich people don't invest poorly...
No hate to the Oakland Collisiom but that place is a dump. I'm glad you enjoy it Zack! That video when you caught 6 foul balls was wild! I couldn't even dream of doing that!
Great video love b able to do what he does , he very good at it. Those three throws from the guy on field to different levels of the stadium was absolutely incredible. Wow 😳
I remember the first time I saw the inside of a major league ballpark. It was old Cleveland stadium but to me it was beautiful. The perfect green grass, crisp white lines showing foul territories & the smells. Hot dogs, peanuts & cigars,& people were actually civilized too.
My first game when I was a child was during the 1964 World Series, Cardinals vs Yankees at Sportsman Park... My father recalled a earlier World Series at Sportsman Park with the Cardinals vs his Browns... All seven games... Funny how the Cardinals and Browns played in the same stadium for years and years without wearing out the grass, but teams don't do so today...
Oakland deserves to have baseball!! Thank you for showing the "Sell the Team" chant!! Donate to Schools Over Stadium & help the Nevada teachers!! #SellTheTeam #FisherOut
As a Red Sox fan, I'm only familiar with A's attendance when watching Sox road games there, but over the last 5-6 years, it never seemed like they were a draw. Tampa seemed to get bigger crowds.
Growing up in the Bay the homies would always sneak in & hotbox the suites with some backwoods the only stadium I’ve seen people do it religiously even before this season & the pandemic
I’m going to the Dbacks final regular season game today against the Houston Astros and the Dbacks starting pitcher is the same guy that threw you your 12,345th baseball, Kyle Nelson, against Christian Javier for Houston.
I saw you on TV for the first two night games and I was in 215 for the day game and got to see you there. I wanted to say you were definitely the reason they took the shacks out, I went there the week after your video and there were crowds up there, and within a few weeks the shack was gone.
Good night from Chicago Zack, good to see you went to Bay area game. Bad luck didnt have business trip but kids will happen to see which the field they been.
I remember seeing games in those suites back in 2002 during The Streak. My girlfriiends Dads company had one and they were hella nice. It hurts my heart seeing what Fischer did to the A's...

Sportsman Park, Connie Mack Stadium, Comiskey Park, Ebbetts Field, the list is long... Old derelict stadiums are demolished... Filthy rich people don't invest poorly...
4:14 was ready to risk it all for you lol
No hate to the Oakland Collisiom but that place is a dump. I'm glad you enjoy it Zack! That video when you caught 6 foul balls was wild! I couldn't even dream of doing that!
Thanks, that was CRAZY.
Dustin is so cool. Always polite and professional. And he has a crazy strong arm. 💪😎
zack we thaqnks, for gicing us some intertainment!
The way Zack holds onto the netting at 2:15 it's like he's flirting with his boyfriend
Runner was safe! Great video!
When the Coliseum is said and done, this video will be the perfect time capsule to memorialize it.
They need you in the field 😂
Oakland deserves to have baseball!! Thank you for showing the "Sell the Team" chant!! Donate to Schools Over Stadium & help the Nevada teachers!! #SellTheTeam #FisherOut
Ifykyk. Me and the homies been doing this for years 😂😂
As a Red Sox fan, I'm only familiar with A's attendance when watching Sox road games there, but over the last 5-6 years, it never seemed like they were a draw. Tampa seemed to get bigger crowds.
Growing up in the Bay the homies would always sneak in & hotbox the suites with some backwoods the only stadium I’ve seen people do it religiously even before this season & the pandemic
Paul Blackburn played little league with my cousin, years ago. He's also from the same hometown as me. It cool seeing him pitch locally.
You should have let that guy with the pin stripe A's hat try to catch a ball. Dude really wanted to catch one.
The suite had all the charm of an intensive care unit.
Good night from Chicago Zack, good to see you went to Bay area game. Bad luck didnt have business trip but kids will happen to see which the field they been.
Let’s Go Oakland!!!! Congrats on 100!!
I remember seeing games in those suites back in 2002 during The Streak. My girlfriiends Dads company had one and they were hella nice. It hurts my heart seeing what Fischer did to the A's...
5:48 That's a Filipino folk dance called "tinikling". Mabuhay Zack 😊🇵🇭
Hey Zack, I attended those As/Ms games in Tokyo in 2012. AND I also spotted you at Ichiro's final game featuring the As/Ms again at Tokyo Dome in 2019.
