As a Tigers fan, We were always scared of them when we had the strong teams of the early 2010s. Even though we beat em often in the Playoffs, It still hurts to see a franchise like Oakland that's been a historical one leave a city due to a greedy owner and league. Oakland is one of the cities that needs a team for the community like my Tigers, being that they lost the NFL and NBA plus the fact it gives kids and families a thing to do without being scared out of their mind living in a city that is known for crime. It's one of those sports cities that if a team is winning and having a run to the playoffs, the whole city supports them like a High School in a small town and a College going to the championship game. Just man, I wish the ownership and commissioner cared. Thank you for covering this.

Now living in Phoenix I’m getting to go to one last game in June to kinda say my goodbyes to the team. Sad days.

Great video. I've been an Oakland A's fan since 1971 when I was 9, have seen close to 1000 games and am heartbroken what has happened these last few years and pending move to Vegas. I'll see their last game in Oakland in September and will be done with them and MLB. I hope the city sues the A's and MLB for this horrible move. St.Louis did with the Rams.

The only way the A's stay in Oakland is if Fisher can't come up with the money for the construction costs in Vegas and if he relies on Vivek Ranadive to pay for the stadium for the A's in Sacramento without coming out of his own pocket. They will have no where else to go but back to Oakland.

I'm 50 and have been a die hard A's fan since I was a tiny kid. My moms was actually pregnant with me and going to games with my dad at the opening of the 73 season. My parents were at a bunch of games during the 3 peat. It's so sad Fisher is ripping our team away from us. I'm still on the fence if I'll stay a fan. My hope is that the funding for the stadium in Nevada falls through, they get stuck playing in the minor league stadium in Sacramento long term, visiting teams become upset with the gate receipts, and the league forces this ownership group to sell. I don't know that this would result in the A's returning to the Bay Area, but it would give the franchise a badly needed fresh start.

I was at the reverse boycott game in June 2023. That game was amazing. Everyone was wearing SELL shirts until there weren’t any left. The game started out very crowed and when it looked like it couldn’t get anymore crowed people were still walking in at the end of the game. We had a wave go around the stadium almost 15 times. People had there drums and trumpets. The entire game there was always a SELL THE TEAM or STAY IN OAKLAND chant going on. There wasn’t one quiet part of the game. Someone ran across the field and almost escaped security. Everyone went WILD for that. Everyone was having an amazing time. It’s sad to see the A’s go. Oakland’s lost too many teams in the past few years. The B’s are a great idea but everyone knows they will never be a replacement for the A’s. I mean Fisher really is selfish. Oakland wants the A’s to stay, Vegas doesn’t want the A’s to come. Just let them stay in Oakland.

I think the one piece that was understated here is the continual extortion of communities for building stadiums without any return. How are you supposed to expect a team to stay in a 50+ year old stadium that's been falling to shit for the last 10 of them? That's why the Raiders are in Vegas now and why the A's are on the way out as well both teams have been trying to get a new stadium in Oakland but politics and other shit got in the way so they left

A's fan in PHX here. The A's could succeeded in Oakland if the owner EVER invested in the team. I stopped buying gear with players names on them in the early 2000s. Why? Because they just traded EVERYONE away to save a dollar. Why invest in a team that doesn't invest in themselves

I think the one piece that was understated here is the continual extortion of communities for building stadiums without any return. Oakland was a way to show other cities that if you don’t play ball and cough up billions in taxpayer money teams will leave. It’s all a greed play. That’s why every other owner voted yes.
That is why fans have given up on Baseball. Otherwise, great video DSARM.
