    Hey everybody! So I discovered that the random value setup in the tutorial actually assigns a random value on every frame, not sure how I missed this but if you use the geometry node setup here: imgur.com/gallery/14a1bFy instead it’ll properly assign each spline with a consistent random value for the whole scene.
    Hope you guys find this useful and if anyone figures out any neat tricks you can do with this then please do comment them below!

      Hooooo... THANKS!!!!! I was struggling to have this kind of effect..... and This Morning .. You are here!!!!! I'll try it right now, and let you know ( just so happy that I want to thank you before)😃🤗

      How did you included imgur link in YT comments? Is this creators perk or they finaly stoped this dumb policy?

      @@genesis2303 I actually didn't know they were blocked originally. I've never had a problem in the last 2-3 months and I just paste the link in and it works

      @@AlaskanFX Found sth like this for 2022
      "Although users can indeed post links within TH-cam comments, the majority of comments will be held for approval.
      This means that the comments aren’t actually public after you post them. Although TH-cam will display the comment to you as if it were posted for everyone to see, this isn’t actually the case.
      Instead, the comment will go to a special inbox called ‘Held for Review’ within the video creator’s TH-cam studio. Comments placed in the ‘Held for Review’ section must be manually reviewed and approved by the video creator. You can see an example of this here:"
      Earlier I thinkg they were blocked completely whitch I think was the reason for discords growth that much.

    Thx for the hint that in the latest release (10th december) the simulation doesn't work if you add the "Simulation Input" first. Nearly went crazy and then I found your tutorial. Big thanks!

    It still a little bit confusing to me to store attribute and use it earlier in the tree.. But i'm thinks that this attribute needs to be changed every frame thats why people do that :|
    And for split window you can also use the "Cross" icon. when you position your cursor in the corner of window you can just directly pull out new one :D I think that is more convinient
    Also thanks for another Tutorial!

    • @AlaskanFX
      @AlaskanFX  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya, storing the attribute is an operation just like the set position or extrude mesh nodes. The simulation nodes are definitely very unique addition to geometry nodes (which is part of why they’re so cool) so it’s been a learning curve for me as well.
      Also good tip on the window splitting!

    Hi Logan, great videos! I wondered if there is a way to initialize particles(points) like giving each one an inital value outside the loop like a interger value for the birthframe?

    • @AlaskanFX
      @AlaskanFX  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much! The "Set ID" setup in the video actually assigns each point with it's spawn frame (the ID value for each point is stored then as such), I don't think there's a way to do this outside of the simulation nodes. I've also been trying to figure out how to assign each spline with a spawn frame but so far no luck

      @@AlaskanFX Hey Logan, sorry to bother you with another question, but there not so many people with sim geo node knowledge right now! ;) My Question: I have not found any way to render Motion Blur so far with moving geo nodes. Have you found one?

    • @AlaskanFX
      @AlaskanFX  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DasDritteD Not a bother at all! I don’t think motion blur is compatible with simulation nodes yet unfortunately but I’d bet money that that’ll be coming in a future update

  • @qbrd2611
    @qbrd2611 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is really cool!
    How would you go about deleting a particle after a certain lifetime or length? My renders slow to a crawl after a few hundred frames as the number of particles becomes so high... I tried a couple of things with the delete geometry, but I'm not sure how you'd select the instances that are X frames old, or X distance away...

    • @AlaskanFX
      @AlaskanFX  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! If you check out my other videos on using simulation nodes I actually have a system for deleting particles based on their age that you can use for this too

      @@AlaskanFX Hi! Any chance you can make a set up that fades out the system and deletes it, rather than having it poof out of existence with the other method you have?

    Hello there love the tutorial. I do want to ask if you could help describe this kind of tracing behaviour: th-cam.com/video/BgPfAE9Epek/w-d-xo.html
    It trails and curve along the particle movement.

    • @AlaskanFX
