Thanks! I run an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X as my CPU, and Nvidia RTX 3090 as my GPU. But I started out with an old Intel i5 7th gen and gtx 1060. This project is definitely possible on that older setup.
Hello just a small problem with the bump map setup, the image input should always be non-color, for that you need to duplicate the image and set it non color space and reconnect it to the bump and displacement sockets. Also, displacement node is not useful in this case because it will double the bump map strength, so use only the bump and discard the displacement node, and only use displacement node or modifier when there is high-density geometry aka subdivided topology, for example when using adaptive subdivision feature or subdivision surface modifier. And just in case don't forget set the option in the material settings to "bump and displacement" and not "bump only" in the case of using real displacement combined with a bump texture, if not the case then bump only option.

Hi, great video. Out of curiosity, what cpu and gpu are you using to make your Blender projects?

@@Colliervideo Hi, thanks for the answer. Sure it is, but that 3090 and Optix make everything much faster. :)

Thanks for the input! I try my best with these tutorials, but there is often better ways to do things
