      No need to battle it out, we all know you are biased against the P320 platform and prefer Glocks or CZs. As someone who carries a P320 daily and puts several hundred rounds of Winchester white box through it monthly along with my self defense rounds, I can say I trust my life with it. No malfunctions other than my big hands preventing the slide lock from engaging, which after adjusting my thumb has been remedied. I've owned several other P320s and had no issues with them either, they eat everything I've put through them with no malfunctions.

      @@jameshalfhill9919 I’m not suggesting his experience hasn’t been real, but the common thread is he’s the shooter in each case.
      When I first bought my Sig M11-A1, I had issues with FTE’s and the slide locking back when the mag is empty. I had never had any issues with my P226 which is essentially the same gun but a little larger grip and slide.
      I called Sig and he explained that most likely it was my grip and I was riding the slide. I made an adjustment and never had any further issues and now have about 2K rounds through the gun.

      Love the content man, but yeah I will say the 320 take is interesting lol. Took it right out the box and used it on a pistol qualifying course with absolutely no issues. Haven’t had any malfunctions during range days either as of yet. It may be less reliable than for example a Glock over its lifetime, but far from completely unreliable. Carry one for work and I’d definitely stake my life on it.

      @davidmack4185 I've been shooting Ruger firearms for just shy of 40 years, I just have a hard time looking at anything else anymore. I pick up a Ruger product for a very reasonable price. I know it's going to work flawlessly. Yeah you can spend thousands more and maybe get a slightly better off the shelf firearm, but at the end of the day, I'm no "professional " and neither are 99% of purchasers. I will say this though, I bought a cheap ($300) Savage .243 for plinking, it ended up being my go to during deer season because of its laser like accuracy, weight and 4 round capacity, great little bolt gun. Otherwise, Ruger is my go to every time.

    I have not had any failures with my CA M18. I purchased about 2 months ago and made grip, sight, and trigger changes. Prior to shooting I disassembled, cleaned and lubricated the pistol. I then ran 100 rounds of 147 grain for break in and another 400-500 rounds of 115 grain range ammunition. Not one FTF or FTE. Not one issue. So my experience with the 320 is the same as my P365x and P365xl. A smooth running and consistent running piece. I do believe that some people have had issues, but most I have concerns about the cleaning and break in process.

      The AR didn’t get the axe after early experiences in Vietnam because one of the world’s largest militaries went all in on it without really ironing out the bugs. They refined it until it worked because they HAD to make it work. It continues to live on largely because of modularity. Had the Stoner 63 or AR-18 been trialed concurrently with the AR-15 for the US military, there’s a decent chance the AR-15 would’ve lost out.

    The earlier metal framed Taurus PT 22 that I used to have was pretty reliable and was better looking than the polymer framed one like in this video. A lot of people who bought these awhile back were running stingers and CCI minimags through them and it says specifically not to use hyper velocity ammo in these in the owners manual that came in the box, and that's where a lot of problems were coming from. It's been several years ago since I've had the PT 22, I had other firearms, so I ended up selling it. Having said that, I enjoyed the video😁👍.

So far we have shot somewhere in the count of 4500 shots down range, and the only issues that the three of us have had was all on me. No Jams or stovepipe issues at all. The only issue has been because of my grip. I sometimes have issues due to putting pressure on the upper as it cycles. This has caused the slide to not lock back to the rear after the final round is fired. That was an easy fix for me. But other obviously have been having issues with their experience with the 320 series.

It helped the slide lock on the last round fired but I could never seem to get it to lock back reliably, I'm about to send it back to the factory but I just don't understand, I'm not limp wristing it so I don't know what the issue is and now that you've mentioned tight grip on the frame I'm starting to wonder. What was your method of solving this issue if I may ask?

    • @smash7127

      Honestly, I didn’t know what the issue was until I noticed that my much more “limp wristed” girlfriend was never having the issue. So I tried making sure not to have any pressure on the upper with my thumb. When I slightly loosened my grip with my forward thumb, it seemed to solve the issue. P.S., I know my way around a firearm pretty well, as I spent 24 years in the US Army.

    • @lucashayes346
      @lucashayes346 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yeah but thats the 365xl, different model than the 320 by quite a bit. That being said, I’ve owned the 320 for years and never had trouble no matter what I put through it, and I had one of the original models that had the potentially faulty trigger (which Sig paid for me to send in) and Sig replaced the trigger box with a completely new one and paid to have it shipped back to me. Never had problems before the change, never had problems after the change, and they paid to have the whole thing fixed to guarantee that I would never have a problem, which is something that they reached out to the community and did for everyone. I didnt go complain to them, they came to us and took care of all of it for us as best as they possibly could. If you’re gonna look at how they messed up, you gotta look at what they did right and what they did to fix it too, so I think they’re still amazing 🤷🏼‍♂️

    It's been my experience with the SCCY that most of its problems stem from it never being broken down at the factory and de-burred. 30 minutes with a file, clean and oil, it becomes a low-cost, very reliable 9m hand gun for self-defense!

    • @themarksmn4181
      @themarksmn4181 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I COMPLETELY agree with you. I would even extend past just the SCCY and into a lot of other brands. It seems like there arent a lot of true shooters out there that will take the time to "tune" (probably the wrong term) or go through their factory gun to "slick things up". Its almost like most people are scared to go through with some abrasive cloth/fine files to clean everything up. Whenever I get a new toy, I disassemble it, feel for any burrs/roughness, clean those spots up, lube it and go shoot it. Havent had any real problems that couldnt be fixed by doing that.

      The xcompact was never the issue, it was just the original triggers on the first series of models and specifically an issue with the original trigger design, which was determined by both an external and internal investigation into the platform. Every model after that, especially and with the flat-faces triggers like I *think* (not 100% on this bit, but I believe) every p320 model with the X- tag has that flat-faced trigger that breaks at 90° which is two gens away from the original trigger design with the malfunction.

    I always really enjoy your reviews and assessments of the various firearms, and I usually agree with your findings. However, I do wish to differ with you regarding the SCCY CPX2.
    I have one of these pistols that I got brand new for $150 OTD. After dry firing it a few times and discovering that it had a horrid trigger pull, I ordered a spring kit from M*CARBO and changed out the springs, which lightened the trigger pull from around 8 lb. to about 4. I then took it to the range with a box of Winchester White Box 115 FMJ, and out of the 50 rounds I had one stovepipe in the first few shots. But after that the pistol ran perfectly fine through the remainder of the box.
    I would opine that the one stovepipe could have been my fault for an inadvertent limp wrist, or it may have been because the action was still stiff and/or needed some lube. In any event, I had no problems with the pistol other than that one malfunction.
    One thing I would want made clear, however, is that the pistol doesn't like +P or +P+ rounds. Firing those did cause repeated jams, which I think probably resulted from the action being hammered too hard and cycling too quickly as a result. Also, with those rounds, I noticed some case bulging at the feed ramp. Apparently there is a fairly large unsupported area there which allows the higher pressure rounds to bulge. Also, those rounds may be cycling the action more quickly than the standard pressure rounds, allowing the slide to begin extracting the case before the bullet has cleared the barrel. In any event, I recommend that +P or +P+ rounds NOT be used in the gun.
    So my experience so far with the pistol is that with standard pressure rounds, it runs just fine. I don't know if the spring job had anything to do with it or if I just happened to get a gun that works as advertised. In any event, my gun runs fine with no problems.
    Again, thanks for your time, effort and expertise in evaluating these firearms!

    Never owned a P320 but do own a P229, P220 and 716i snake bite. All perform exactly how it should and would use any of them to protect me and my family's life.

      My P229 is probably the most reliable gun in my inventory.

    I have the hi-point .380, I had issues with it when I first got it. I put some time in polishing and greasing it and haven't had an issue with it since. It's not my only hi-point I also have a carbine with about 30,000 rounds through it, I will say it's not the best but will work no matter how dirty it got.

    I was carrying a sccy and I had a lot of feed issues at the range. They do stand behind it and they sent me new mags which have been better. I sent it back for another issue and it has become my nightstand piece. My daily is a csx which has been rock solid. I wish I had heard your review before I purchased the sccy😅😅😅

    RE: Sccy.
    I bought mine with the 2 mags that came with it, and then bought another 2 as well. 2 mags ran great, one had FTF every 2 shots or so, and the last was as you describe, just nothing worked reliably, including spontaneously ejecting the mag. It was also really hard to load a full 10 rounds. I compared them visually, and the one with the failure to feed issues' feed lips were rolled in on one side, like it had been bent in. A little time with the needle nose pliers, problem solved.
    The 4th mag, I'm pretty sure was a manufacturing error, as the corner with the mag lock notch was more rounded, like it hadn't been stamped correctly. I put a piece of keystone in a vise, and used it as a form to tap it square. Viola, solved all the problems.
    Nyet, pistol is fine, magazines not so much.

    Love your channel. Believe you on your results on your test but the sig p320 having issues is just shocking. I went ahead and picked one up last year(Nov 2022), the 2 tone bronze/fde compact and its been flawless for well over 400 rounds so far. And I went to range and specifically tried it with as much diff ammo as I could: remington, pmc, sellier &bellot, winchester, freedom muntions NEW (not reman), and cci blazer brass. so thats 6 boxes of 50 each of those and it was flawless, and i've not even cleaned the gun since out of the box. I will be getting a wilson combat grip module for it next and continue shooting and tracking it because of your warning though. thanks for your videos..always entertaining and useful.

    I have a SCCY CPX-2. When I first got it I had some issues. I contacted SCCY and they said send it back with the magazines and we will fix it. Since then, about 2 years no problems.
