@@syphonfilterhitgaming6945 I'm non-american and not a combat vet whatsoever, but I'd imagine they adjust their outfits based on the situation, so to adhere to official formal settings they wear suits to blend in more, keep up casual and non-threatening appearances, and be identifiable in crowds to each other. There would be no need to wear a smart suit in an active warzone, I believe secret service agents are typically combat veterans and there is no advantage to wearing formal attire over practical tactical outfits. Just my two cents.
If you actually watched the movie, you'd know they specifically state that only the truly devoted staff are still protecting the president. The Secret Service in the video seems to just be using MP5 variations and handguns. Pistol calibers can't penetrate plate carriers which I expect these army guys are running. This was an interesting movie, but the plot was kinda dumb Texas and California would never team up, and why is the story told through the journalists' perspective? Also if America had a second civil war there would be way more states involved as well as foreign countries.
The whole movie was implausible but maybe in this universe California and Texas align themselves due to economics. California would feed Texas and provide some raw resources like metals and Texas would produce oil. If there was a regime that was so radical that it got California and Texas to align you know it’s a bad regime. Also, these two states have massive military resources. California has lots of naval assets as well as Air Force assets and marines. Texas has a large army contingent as well as a large Air Force presence
@@MikeGoesBadaBoom it was a interesting experiment. Very well done in regards to cinematogrophy etc, but the plausibility was just not there. Now, a civil war IS very plausible but it certainly would NOT end like this. I can't imagine china, russia or even europe not getting involved.
@@Shadedtail You just gave me an idea for my writing projects where NA gets split across 5 countries... You're definitely right, though, foreign interests would certainly get in the way of a US civil war. I think the movie was really about journalism and ethics more than it was about the war.
That's actually the most realistic thing with the storyline, everything else is unbelievable. 1.) Both California and Texas are the most populus state in the US (Along with NY) If there are ever enough manpower to pull off a WF style insurgency, you will need 2 of the 3 states to team up, I don't recall NY was in the WF, so for TX and CA to team up make sense 2.) You are assuming the political ideology would have any indifference to the state, if the President threw away the constitution like he did in the movie, there are chances that this may reunite some militia element between both CA and TX and those element, strangely enough including Sovciv are non-political aligned, they don't care about Federal Government, be it Dems or GOP. 3.) Political History between Texas and California is actually closer than you think, in fact, California is a very red states before mid-1990 and still a lot of red county in California and Texas was Blue before the end of Vietnam war, and Blue is still strong in the city, depends on the president ideology and what did he actually do to have raise an insurrection, they may actually align
My idea for an alternate ending: President tries to run away with a pistol in hand. He trips over the girl. The gun goes off, both shooting the camera and the president. So in the end, they don't get that final quote, they don't get that perfect photograph, and the president dies in the most undignified way: by his own clumsiness. Just as a big f--- you to anyone trying to look for meaning in this mess.
I hated this movie. I couldn't stand how the action was constantly interrupted by the press photos and I also hated how there was no backstory behind anything.
Im pretty sure thats the point because they want to show the pointless of internal and political dispute or any justification for a war, because in the end, its the casualties that matters. Not the politics. Tho some notable key information regards to why the civil war happens has been shown, if you want me to say some of them, feel free to reply to me.

While it may not be on the Presidential Detail, but you don't even need to be in the Army to be in the SS. In fact, IIRC, FBI HRT beat the crap out of the USSS CAT in a SWAT competition some time ago.
Up until this point, it was a solid movie with great tension and pacing. However, the final scenes were disappointing due to a glaring lack of realism. There’s simply no way Secret Service agents, who risk their lives to protect the President, would leave him vulnerable in the Oval Office. Realistically, he would have been secured in an underground bunker with reinforced doors. Even if his survival was short-lived, it would have taken far more than half a dozen soldiers to reach him. The ending felt rushed, as though they prioritized wrapping things up quickly over maintaining the movie’s credibility.
This scene gives me hardcore flashbacks from my days as a Combat Photographer. I know that disconnect from reality all too well. It’s addictive, dangerous and incredibly alluring all at once.
I liked this movie despite the many things that don't make sense. Starting with this scene; - How come no other soldiers or president's security come in through the entirety of the fight? There's literally two armies outside. - The president was hiding under his desk? He had a better chance sitting in the kitchen. - Why would the soldiers take any time to shepherd the journalists in such a stressful situation? Even if they weren't in the way, the clicks alone are distracting. - Is it possible that the president's security couldn't take out a single soldier? I assume they're better trained and at the very least expect them to coordinate better in their own territory. - Why is the president wearing a suit at night in the middle of a battle? Not even a bullet-proof vest. Also doesn't make sense that it looks like they just interrupted a normal evening at the WH despite them being holed up in there for months fighting. I would still recommend the movie.
This was one of the stupidest movies I’ve ever seen. Never did figure out why people were even fighting or what they were fighting for. A waste of time.

meaning of the movie: "war very bad"
meaning understood by Americans: "war in movie unrealistic"
Huh, it's almost like the movie is bad and undermines its own meaning? 🤔
Naw I get that point. Doesn't excus some of the creative choices.
I was infantry in Afghanistan. We had press attached for 3 days. We never took them anywhere the higher ups thought would result in a firefight. It was a few of the easiest days we had. Not that our guard was down, we just knew where we were and had zero issues in those areas.
I like how the Secret Service are wearing suits and using MP5ks in a warzone. Top tier realism
Because that is what they wear? you expect them to suit up in army gear or something? Trying to sound like a smartass, looking like an idiot instead.
@@syphonfilterhitgaming6945 Only the protective details, however they would be wearing a vest in this situation. Let's not also ignore that majority of the Secret Service at the WH would be in a uniformed attire along with tactical teams.
Most have abandoned him at this point and wouldn't be following normal protocols etc as they were in the final stages of desperation, its literally stated as such in the movie... maybe watch it again?
@@syphonfilterhitgaming6945 I don't need to rewatch the movie. Basing it off of experience and knowledge, I know this isn't the case. They knew DC was under siege for hours, they knew days prior to the siege, that the WF are staging outside of DC. Having zero protective gear, with handguns and SMGs as their primary weaponry, is a joke. Either way, you're telling me not a single member of any SS Tactical teams or SS Law Enforcement officers didn't stay behind and that his own detail didn't have the nerve to throw on a vest or get a better weapon?

The Secret Service in the video seems to just be using MP5 variations and handguns. Pistol calibers can't penetrate plate carriers which I expect these army guys are running. It'd still hurt (ache and bruise, to be honest) but nothing to wound or kill with if it hits the torso and (maybe) those helmets.
The real question would be where did all of their rifles go 😭
Was supply that bad?
I mean... They do have only 9mm subguns (at least in this scene), which is not that effective against military-grade body armour. Which the agents themselves lack.
They are also probably low on ammo, so many fire short bursts only.

Press stages much of the dangerous moments. Favorite being in Israel late least year. Israel announced they were going to drop a bomb on a building and level it. CNN set up to catch it as a hit and acted surprised going "OMG What is happening?!" They very well knew the building as going down. Reminds me of the scene from Family Guy when the reporter off camera was playing with random objects to make battle noises.

A picture every 4 second is crazy
This was an interesting movie, but the plot was kinda dumb Texas and California would never team up, and why is the story told through the journalists' perspective? Also if America had a second civil war there would be way more states involved as well as foreign countries.
The split wouldn't be along state lines either. It would be a mini-civil war within each state
The whole movie was implausible but maybe in this universe California and Texas align themselves due to economics.
Literally ANY sovreign state would want to send in special forces to extract the president, because having the US president as a hostage or asylum gives them exceptional throwing weight on the international table.
1.) Both California and Texas are the most populus state in the US (Along with NY) If there are ever enough manpower to pull off a WF style insurgency, you will need 2 of the 3 states to team up, I don't recall NY was in the WF, so for TX and CA to team up make sense
2.) You are assuming the political ideology would have any indifference to the state, if the President threw away the constitution like he did in the movie, there are chances that this may reunite some militia element between both CA and TX and those element, strangely enough including Sovciv are non-political aligned, they don't care about Federal Government, be it Dems or GOP.

I didn't think the Secret Service used armor piercing ammo.
Sig Sauer P229 in .357sig as hot an auto-loading pistol caliber round as can reasonably be had, , FN P90's in 5.7x28 a round specifically designed to pierce armor, HK MP5 9mm--> that's the consession to not quite armor piercing ideal.. But in times like this, it is strange to see that they are defending the president and essentially war-fighting with 9mm MP5's, when they do also use M4's.
@@garolstipock M4 usually for uniformed SS member, SS Protection detail usually require concealing their weapon, you can conceal a Sig 226 or MP5 shorty or K, you can't with a 10.5 inch M4.

This film accurately predicts what would likely happen when a President attempts to stay longer than his two terms.
FDR?
I liked this movie despite the many things that don't make sense. Starting with this scene;
- How come no other soldiers or president's security come in through the entirety of the fight?
